"Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle."
A strange sound echoed in the air. Kakashi's brow was furrowed, his heart filled with doubt.
This new development had clearly exceeded his expectations; after all, the Chidori he knew was nothing like this.
The faint sense of explosive force coming from afar was enough to send a tremor through even Kakashi, given his experience and keen perception.
Sasuke stood not far away, his gaze locked onto the lightning in his hand—this was the result of a month of grueling effort under Zephyr's patient guidance, where he had finally succeeded in fusing Armament Haki with Chidori.
Gazing at this achievement born of countless drops of sweat, a satisfied smile tugged at the corner of Sasuke's mouth.
"Accept your defeat." Sasuke's voice carried an undeniable arrogance. In a flash, he shot toward his opponent like an arrow released from its bow.
At the same time, Gaara's Shukaku's Spear was primed and ready. Vast amounts of chakra gathered at its tip, forming an awe-inspiring momentum as it hurtled toward Sasuke with incredible speed.
"Shatter for me!" Sasuke roared, his right hand swinging down. A black flash erupted in an instant, slicing through space like countless blades.
The Shukaku's Spear began to crack under this force, gradually disintegrating.
"How is this possible!" Gaara's voice warped with shock, unable to accept what he was seeing.
Sasuke let out a scoff, pressing his advantage. With one strike, the Shukaku's Spear was utterly destroyed, and then his form slipped through Gaara's layered sand shields like a ghost, displaying overwhelming power.
This scene drew even the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, on the viewing platform, to reveal a look of astonishment.
He had never expected a young genin from the village to possess the strength to break through a half-tailed beast's defense.
Sasuke's face beamed with pride, as if victory was already within his grasp.
But just then, at this critical moment, an unexpected turn occurred.
An unprecedented surge of immense chakra erupted like a mountain torrent, overwhelming and violent.
Gaara's body began to transform, swelling gradually until it morphed into a colossal desert monster, radiating a terrifying pressure.
"Aaaah, I'll kill you!" Gaara's voice twisted into something savage and frenzied as his form changed.
"Hahaha, I'm finally out!" Shukaku's mad laughter echoed across the open battlefield. The beast had broken free, tasting freedom at last.
The atmosphere on the viewing platform turned tense and heavy. The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, paled. He was about to act when a figure darted ahead.
Orochimaru's smile was sly and sinister. His encounter in the Forest of Death not long ago had put him on high alert for this moment.
To play it safe, he decided not to wait any longer. He would unleash Shukaku's power directly in Konoha to achieve his goals.
In an instant, the entire village of Konoha was engulfed in panic, chaos spreading rapidly. Villagers fled in terror.
Meanwhile, Roy was staring at the suddenly appeared Shukaku, his eyes gleaming with greed.
He schemed inwardly: "After I grab the Sharingan, I can also take the chance to snatch some of Shukaku's chakra."
With that thought, Roy swiftly pulled an outfit from his pocket. It was the distinctive uniform of the Akatsuki.
A cold smirk curled his lips. "Heh heh heh, time to show off my acting skills."
Before his words faded, his body seemed to transform into a streak of light, instantly plunging into the pitch-black depths of the Root base.
"Boom!" A deafening blast rang out as Roy fired a laser. The wall before him crumbled under the impact, rubble flying in all directions.
The guards at the Root base were stunned into silence by the sudden assault. Then, dozens of figures emerged like phantoms, unleashing countless jutsu that rained down on Roy.
Yet Roy merely flickered, easily evading these deadly attacks.
He moved like the wind, continuing deeper into the Root base while casually firing several energy blasts behind him. The explosions left the passage in ruins, sealing off the path for any pursuers.
Roy flew toward the strongest chakra signature his senses could detect.
But just as he neared his target, several powerful Wind Release techniques slammed into him like a hurricane.
"Wind Release, Vacuum Jade!"
At that moment, Danzo stepped out from the shadows. His sinister gaze immediately recognized the Akatsuki uniform Roy wore, and his expression turned vicious.
"Akatsuki? How dare you come to Konoha to stir up trouble!" Danzo bellowed.
Seeing this, Roy rejoiced inwardly. He immediately began his act, shifting the blame unhesitatingly onto the Akatsuki: "Danzo, your crimes are heinous."
"I've come to avenge Yahiko! You killed him, and today, you die!"
Danzo's mind churned with suspicion about this person's identity, but as Konoha's designated scapegoat, he knew that if someone came seeking revenge, they were probably in the right.
After all, he had done so much dirty work over the years that he could no longer keep track of who was who.
Thus, he didn't dwell on it, letting out a cold snort instead. "So, Hiruzen's intel was accurate—Akatsuki is indeed targeting me. Perfect timing. You'll make fine spoils for my inauguration as Hokage!"
A fierce gleam shone in Danzo's eyes. As Konoha's scapegoat, he possessed extensive combat experience and powerful jutsu, and he wouldn't back down easily.
"Wind Release, Vacuum Great Jade!"
Danzo growled, his hands swiftly forming seals to create a massive energy sphere.
He hurled the sphere forward with all his might. Accompanied by a thunderous roar, it exploded in midair, splitting into countless tiny wind blades.
But in that instant, Danzo realized Roy had vanished without a trace.
"Boom!"
An earth-shattering crash rang out. An indescribable, horrifying force enveloped Danzo in an instant, sending him flying like a broken kite into a distant wall, dust billowing and rubble scattering.
"How could this…" Danzo struggled to his feet, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. His eyes were filled with shock and disbelief.
He had never imagined he would be reduced to such a miserable state by this seemingly young opponent.
Just then, Roy's figure reappeared eerily before Danzo, his right hand shooting out like lightning toward Danzo's right eye.
Roy was not going all out; he wasn't in a hurry to kill Danzo. He wanted all of Danzo's Sharingan, which meant he couldn't allow Danzo a chance to use Izanagi.
It would be such a waste to use such precious Sharingan so recklessly.
