Chapter 13 - Tianzun's past Chapter (13): Bonds, Secrets, and Silent Shock.

Mo li I know you are curious about what is going on but first we need clothes.

Tianzun's eyes flickered toward Mo Li, his voice calm yet carrying a hint of urgency.

"Could you go get us new clothes, pretty please—

We're kind of wet."

Without hesitation, Mo Li nodded and dashed off immediately, his footsteps echoing with swift determination.

He nodded his head in agreement as he hurried to get it even though he was curious—he disappeared around the corner.

Tianzun's mind was racing even as Mo Li had gone to get it.

To Mo li—

This was the opportunity he had been waiting for, a chance to quietly ask where they had suddenly appeared from, to unravel the mystery of their sudden disappearance and magical arrival.

But just as he was on his way to get what they ordered, his other siblings intercepted him, blocking his path like an impenetrable wall.

As they questioned him of his finds.

But he straightened his face up so they won't see through him— and lied to their face though mo li was mischievous.

They knew he was very honest.

He replied

No I haven't seen them yet— he lied covering up his finds.

Phew!

He breathe a sigh of relief.

Undeterred,

Mo Li managed to slip through his siblings , return to the house, retrieve the clothes, and then, without anyone noticing—

He sprinted back to them, his breath coming in quick, drained bursts—huff huff—as he returned.

Meanwhile, Tianzun gently woke Mo Caili, his hand cradling her head as he rested it on his lap.

Her eyes fluttered open slowly, still heavy with sleep—

"How long have I been out?" she asked softly, her voice laced with grogginess.

Tianzun glanced at the screen of his pad, the numbers flickering with precise accuracy. "Thirty-one minutes, fifty-two seconds, ninety-nine milliseconds," he replied, his tone meticulous, almost studious.

His attentiveness was so endearing and full of care.

She blinked, her brow furrowing as she reached out, asking for her glasses.

"Can I have my glasses? I can't see well without them."

Tianzun shook his head gently. "They're broken," he said simply.

She pouted, frustration creeping into her voice. "So, it's broken.

How am I supposed to see then?"

Without warning, she latched tightly onto tianzun's lap, her fingers gripping him like he is her lifeline.

Tianzun winced, cringing slightly under the unexpected pressure.

"What are you doing?" he asked, his voice tinged with surprise.

She looked up at him with earnest eyes and smiled teasingly—

"Holding you tight, so you don't leave me and go off to another woman."

A sudden cough escaped Tianzun as he choked on his own spit—cough cough—making her giggle mischievously.

Then, with a light smack, she hit him again. "You're supposed to say, 'I'm here for you.' Say it!"

He cleared his throat and complied, "I'm here for you."

Just then, Mo Li returned, holding the fresh clothes in his hands. Tianzun's eyes widened in surprise. Mo Caili's gaze followed his, her voice curious.

"What?"

"Why is he here?"

Mo Li's face flushed as he stammered,

Wh—Wha

—"What are you two doing?

Acting like Mom and Dad?

Are you guys playing?"

She shot him a smug look with a teasing expression and turns to tianzun she smiled mischievously—

She replied

"It's not a joke. I will marrying him in the next six years."

She teasingly joked.

Mo Li's and Tianzun mouth dropped open in disbelief.

Mo li continued—

As he replied

"But sister, he'll only be fourteen, and you'll be eighteen.

So what she responded and mo li replied—

That's not even a proper adult age yet!"he retort pouting to her tease—

Tianzun seeing this did not want him to misunderstand

He decided to clear his misunderstandings now it was early.

Tianzun smiled and replied said that is no_..

Ouch!!

He was interrupted by the pinch from mo caili as she continued—

We are getting married in six years time

Do you have a problem with that her eyes slanted, her voice like a high mighty noblewoman

She continued

Won't you give us your blessings and approval?

Mo caili questioned

This time mo li was shocked.

Sweat pouring down his back she was unconsciously radiating an aura that suffocate him.

He muttered so much will and spirit.

Tianzun still wanted to clear up the misunderstanding but was stopped by her covering his mouth with her hand for the second time.

He continued while her hand on his mouth as he told mo caili the spirit did not specify what we are to do in six years time

A knowing smile curled at the corner of Mo caili's lips.

 "That's true.

But remember, this is the mortal realm. The world of cultivation is different."

Uhhhh! he sighed

He rolled his eyes and thought—

She is been taking by her delusion and mis—understanding.

He didn't bother to correct her again.

Tianzun managed to get hold of himself and said it is not true

Though it was uncertained.

And that expression of curiosity and confusion appeared on his face.

Mo Li shook his head in disbelief as he could see through the facade.

And another was

He knew his sister better than anyone; she was serious.

This made him more curious.

He pressed on, curiosity burning in his eyes.

"Why did you guys appear out of thin air? Where did you come from?"

Their eyes locked onto Mo Li, shock evident as their pupils dilated and then shrank in rapid succession.

Tianzun added calmly, "Come with us. Once we're dressed, we'll explain everything."

Mo Li nodded, still processing the strange encounter.

Tianzun quickly changed into his dry clothes, glancing over at Mo Caili.

She hadn't moved an inch, still clutching her broken glasses.

"I need my glasses to see properly," she said, sounding a little desperate.

She called out to him gently, "Come here and help me."

She pouted,

Sure she was acting but he doesn't know— he replied in a dumbfounded manner

"Wh-what?!

Tianzun shouted

She retorted

What are you screaming about?"

"You'll do more than that," she teased playfully, making Tianzun swallowed his spit nervously.

He began moving closer to her carefully,

He was shaking in his boots.

Is she serious he thought?

Hope she is not teasing me?

He thought "moving closer."

He replied stuttering

Then E—ee... Excuse me.

But the moment was interrupted—

When Mo Li returned with urgent news.

"Mo Rongyan and Mo Hao are on their way here."

Tianzun's heart quickened.

He had to hurry and explain the situation before things spiraled out of control.

They have been out since last night

Where could they have been?

He shook his head in frustration as three figures appeared at the entrance—Mo Li, Mo Caili, and Tianzun himself.

Mo Hao's voice rang out sharply, filled with concern and frustration. "Where have you been directing his question at caili leaving tianzun out of it?

We've been looking all morning for you!"

Tianzun head dropped down his bang covered his eyes he thought to himself—

They had really distance themselves away from him and painted him that figure a murderer.

And you?

That speech jolted him wake—

Why were both of you out—

What were you doing?

Explain yourself! Mo rongyan shouted at him.

Tianzun explained quietly, "I snuck out to take some fresh air.

And Caili followed after me being suspicious of me plotting something.

I didn't want to come back until took some fresh air, so she came with me."

Mo Hao frowned but found nothing suspicious.

Then, with a warning tone, he said, "If you want to do it again, find me first." He dragged Caili away, but Tianzun watched closely.

Suddenly, Caili stopped, pulling her hand free from Mo Hao's grasp.

She looked at him with a determined gaze.

"If you can't see something, try to wait until you find the truth," she said softly, then turned and walked back toward Tianzun.

She understood what her father had done—

She knew she was the most disappointed of all.

She didn't even know who her father truly was, and she blamed Tianzun— almost destroying the life of her future husband with self-doubt and guilt.

Without a word, she took Tianzun's hand, holding it firmly—like a couple united—and led him away.

Her siblings was left in stunned silence by her display, especially Mo Rongyan, whose face was a perfect picture of shock and disbelief looked like a rat who drowned in search for food.
