Chapter 188 - Chapter 188: Krul Returns from Her Studies!

Sanguinem.

Today must be the busiest day for all the Progenitors in history.

The lower Vampires couldn't find a single available Progenitor to report to. Luke and Urd were chasing another Urd, Rig and Krul were nowhere to be found, Guren was sent back heavily injured, and Bastia seemed busy with experiments under Rig's orders. Since some matters in Sanguinem were beyond the authority of Progenitors below the tenth seat, Crowley, Krul, and Horn were excluded.

Thus, Lest Karr, who had just returned and looked only slightly tired, was pressed into service. However, he seemed quite keen on power and didn't mind it at all.

Two Upper-ranking Vampires of Sanguinem stepped out of Lest Karr's temporary palace. The gates, carved with demon reliefs, slowly closed behind them. One Vampire, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, remarked casually:

"The Cute King was right. If you can't find Lady Krul, you can go to Lord Lest Karr. He's so efficient. Next time Lady Krul checks our work, I won't have to worry about not finishing. He's truly free labor."

Another shorter Vampire nodded, completely agreeing with him.

These two guys didn't actually have anything urgent. They had brought the work Krul assigned them to Lest Karr to solve, and Lest Karr hadn't noticed at all. After all, these were decisions he had personally made while in Germany.

Hearing this, the subordinates guarding Lest Karr's palace had their mouths twitch.

These guys! They're actually treating Lord Lest Karr like unpaid labor!

However, he didn't dare to warn him. When Lord Lest Karr got angry, his first instinct was to vent, then find the culprit. If he reported it, he would be the first to suffer.

While Lest Karr was busy, Luke's side finally caught Hiiragi Shinya. To be precise, it wasn't him and Urd who caught him, but rather Hiiragi Shinya's luck was just too bad. It was bad enough that he ran into Urd himself at first, but then he ran into the passage leading to the dungeon and bumped into Krul, who had just obtained a portion of the Progenitor's power.

Hiiragi Shinya originally wanted to pretend to be Urd to slip past, but the Progenitor's Dark Energy is the ancestor of Demonic Aura. Krul, having inherited the power, saw through him at a glance and caught him directly using Dark Energy.

"I'm truly impressed. You can really run!"

Luke was also exhausted from the chase. He gave a thumbs up to the recaptured Hiiragi Shinya. If the underground paths of Sanguinem weren't so numerous and winding, Luke would have caught Hiiragi Shinya long ago.

Urd didn't even have time to deal with Hiiragi Shinya. He frowned as he looked at Krul, looking ready to strike at any moment.

"The Progenitor's power?"

Luke knew it was time for a flashback filler episode and quickly stepped between the two.

He soon explained the cooperative relationship between the Progenitor, Rig, and Krul.

After hearing all this, Urd felt as if dark clouds filled his head, and it was about to rain and thunder.

"As the Second Progenitor, do even plans like this have to be carried out without my prior knowledge?!"

Luke began to shift the blame.

"This was Lord Rig's idea. He said you'd likely oppose it if you knew, saying you only pursue stability and live like the walking dead."

Krul knew Luke was talking nonsense again, but this time it wasn't entirely made up. If Rig were asked, he might actually say that. And Urd didn't say anything more because he really would have done that.

"Hmph!"

Urd turned to leave in anger.

But just as he was walking away, Urd said to Krul and Luke:

"Once Yu is captured, my people can also help with the technique research."

Then he walked away. He was going to find Rig to clear things up. He decided that he'd have a fight with Rig as soon as they met.

Seeing Urd leave, Luke hurriedly asked Krul with curiosity.

"How is it? How does it feel?"

The corners of Krul's mouth curled up slightly. Luke felt something was wrong, but it was too late!

"Darkness!"

Luke didn't have time to react before being controlled by Dark Energy, unable even to summon his Demon Sword.

Snap!

Krul snapped her fingers, and Luke regained his freedom.

Luke walked toward Krul with a look of dissatisfaction.

"The love is gone. I helped you get that power, and you use me for practice the moment you come out."

Krul didn't care at all and was a bit smug. Now let's see who dares to say she can't beat Luke. Even though it was external power, at least she had saved face.

"Don't move!"

Once Luke got close, he directly hugged Krul with one hand and locked her throat with the other. Krul had been a bit carried away just now and didn't expect Luke's sudden attack.

Krul could clearly feel Luke's heartbeat.

"I'm still the one on top. Say 'Lord Luke, please spare me,' and I'll let you go."

But immediately after, Luke felt a chill on the back of his neck. He sighed, let go of Krul, and raised his hands.

"Total failure. I surrender. Lady Krul, please spare me."

Luke had no bottom line.

Krul withdrew the Dark Energy that had condensed into a scythe and nodded with satisfaction, her domestic status clearly displayed.

They chatted a bit more about her feelings, and Krul went to Rig's territory to have the people from the Hyakuya Sect check her. The Dark Energy didn't show any rejection with Krul's body and merged very well. After the two confirmed that the Progenitor hadn't tampered with anything, a message came over the broadcast from Rig, telling them to gather in the meeting room.

"Progenitors of the tenth seat and above, please come to the meeting room. I don't want to have to invite you personally."

Krul and Luke glanced at each other and went together.

Somewhere in Sanguinem, only Krul was indignant. Why wasn't her master included? Even the Sixth Progenitor, Lord Bastia, might not necessarily beat Crowley. But Crowley was happy with it. He was now like a mercenary hired by Luke; if the superiors didn't give orders, he wouldn't work. How leisurely!

Shortly after, when Krul pushed open the obsidian-encrusted doors of the meeting room, what met her eyes was a map of Japan floating above the circular conference table. Only that fellow Lest Karr hadn't arrived yet. Even the heavily injured Guren had come after clearing the Demonic Aura and wrapping a layer of gauze around his waist, looking quite lively.

Krul was a bit surprised that Rig and Urd hadn't started fighting.

As if seeing the meaning in Krul's eyes, Rig explained with a smile.

"I've already coaxed him, but the effect doesn't seem very ideal."

Urd ignored Rig completely, sitting there with his legs crossed and a stern face, radiating an intense pressure.

Rig stopped talking about him and turned to observe Krul.

"I received your check-up report. It's surprisingly a good fit. It seems it was a correct decision. However, given the current situation, you'll only need to deal with one Seraph at most. Once we pass this hurdle, we only need to focus all our efforts on researching the technique."

Krul naturally understood all this and nodded.

Guren leaned toward Bastia with a curious look.

"What are the Lords talking about?"

Bastia looked indifferent and shook his head.

"I don't know the specifics either."

Guren was a bit disappointed, then asked Urd.

"Lord Urd, they're isolating you. Do you want me to kill them?"

Urd knew his personality; no matter how strong the opponent was, this guy would really go and fight if he said so.

"Shut up!"

Guren didn't dare say more, though he also wanted to know what Rig and the others were talking about.
