The man lowered his gaze to Rim Young, who was standing protectively in front of Wi Hajoon. For a long moment, he simply looked at him. Then he shrugged.
"Fine. Take him away."
Turning his back on them, he lifted one hand and waved it through the air as though shooing them away. Rim Young didn't wait around. He immediately reached for Wi Hajoon's hand, intertwined their fingers, and hurried down the path without looking back.
"What kind of debt is it? Money?"
"How much?"
There was barely a pause before he continued.
"Just tell me how much it is. You can pay me back instead of paying him. So just tell me—"
"That's not necessary."
Rim Young rejected the offer immediately, without even thinking. Owing Wi Hajoon money felt even more burdensome. Besides, money itself wasn't really the issue. His older sister's account held more than enough savings to repay the debt if it truly still existed. He simply didn't want Wi Hajoon becoming involved.
