"I never said that. You assumed all of that on your own."
He responded, trying to stay calm.
"I only want to become someone you can rely on when you need someone."
For a brief moment, his gaze lowered even further before lifting and adding more.
"When you need someone to guide you, come to me. That's it."
The words were simple. Far simpler than the feelings hidden behind them. The truth was that Rim Young was capable of bending himself far more than he ever let anyone see. If it was for Wi Hajoon, he could compromise, endure, and quietly accept things that others never would. Yet that was exactly why he could never allow those feelings to become visible.
Even now, Wi Hajoon was clearly bothered by the knowledge that Rim Young liked him. If merely knowing that much caused such a reaction, then Rim Young would never dare reveal the full extent of it. If Wi Hajoon ever discovered just how far Rim Young was willing to go for him, would that really be a good thing?
