William's POV
I left Jax's house feeling a little lighter than when I arrived.
Talking to my big brother always helped. He didn't judge me or make me feel weird. He listened carefully and promised he would help me when I turned 18. He also said he would talk to his doctor friends to find better ways to handle my heat until then. That made me feel less alone. For the first time in weeks, the heavy weight in my chest felt a bit smaller.
I took a cab to the mall to meet my friend Charles. The ride was quiet. I looked out the window at the passing buildings and cars. I tried not to think about the pain that was starting to come back again. My heat had been getting worse lately, even with the suppressants. The emptiness and aching feeling were slowly returning, making my body feel restless.
