Chapter 112 - Chapter 112: Friedrich and Elena

That was all before Ana was born… No, it was normal that Ana hadn't been born yet, since he and Elena weren't married at that time.

It should be said that it happened before he and Elena got married? That also seemed a bit off, because back then Friedrich and Elena weren't that close yet.

Anyway, it was something from a very long time ago. Even so, to this day, Friedrich still remembered it vividly.

For the Schariac family, which was known for having many accomplished scholars in conversation but no men in the household, Friedrich's existence was quite a rare anomaly.

It was well known that the Schariac family was called the Saint Family precisely because there were almost no males in the clan, much like the Kaslana family with its low number of descendants.

Ever since he was born, Friedrich had actually been raised as the Schariac heir. However, as a male, he possessed absolutely no combat ability. Even if he trained his body every day, he was only slightly stronger than an ordinary person.

Compared to the Schariacs, who were all combat-oriented powerhouses on average, he was like night and day. Yet his younger sister, who was only one year younger than him—Cecilia—showed signs of becoming the strongest Schariac Saint in history.

So, after hearing that the Kaslana heir next door had run away, Friedrich also kept thinking about escaping. In the end, while his sister was selected for some plan and was highly valued by that old man Otto, with the entire clan celebrating, Friedrich ran away.

It was an escape that didn't alarm anyone. After all, compared to the proper heir Siegfried, Friedrich had always had very little presence.

His greatest interests were hiding by the nearby pond to fish, or staying in his room watching anime and playing games. He often went days without being seen.

From what he later learned, he had walked all the way alone to the German-French border in another world—the place known as the Maginot Line—before the Schariacs even realized Friedrich was missing.

In less than a year, the heirs of Schicksal's two major families had run away one after another. Yet Otto did not appear as angry as expected. After giving the Schariacs and Kaslanas a round of PUA, he did not rush to send people to search for them.

A person's personality is their destiny. Otto knew that these two rebellious boys would eventually return to the family one day.

Moreover, examples of heirs running away had only happened three times in five hundred years, including Kallen. This made Otto feel somewhat nostalgic.

After leaving Schicksal and the Schariacs, Friedrich felt an extraordinary sense of relief. Inside the Schariacs, he was a weakling who couldn't even beat his seven-year-old niece.

But in the outside world, he could heroically rescue beauties. In Paris, he single-handedly fought five guys and saved a girl who was about to be assaulted on the roadside.

He was like a dazzling pearl, shining with an irresistible brilliance at Parisian fashion balls and becoming the most eye-catching presence in the entire venue. His innate noble temperament seemed completely natural, and every gesture exuded elegance and dignity.

This unique temperament came precisely from the careful upbringing and long-term influence he received in the Schariac family. Whether it was the perfectly measured smile he gave others or the polite and refined words he used in conversation, everything displayed his profound cultivation.

And then there was his face, which was exceptionally outstanding even within the Schariacs—like the most perfect work from a master sculptor. Every line was so exquisite, smooth, and just right. His high nose bridge was like towering mountains, his deep eyes were like twinkling stars, and the slightly upturned corners of his mouth carried a faint, captivating smile that added even more charm. Such outstanding looks made him the center of attention wherever he went, and he was therefore highly sought after in high society.

In short, in the outside world, Friedrich felt a long-lost sense of freedom. As long as he didn't return to the Schariacs and Schicksal, he, Friedrich, was the best man in the world!

This free air fascinated him. If possible, he really didn't want to return to that sad place for the rest of his life.

However, even though that was the case, after so many years outside—and it was said that even the traitor Siegfried had returned to Schicksal—Friedrich somehow still hadn't found a girl he was willing to spend his life with and start a family.

Over all these years, although he had attended plenty of social balls and salons, he had always passed through a garden of flowers without a single leaf sticking to him.

In other words, although the number of girls who liked him over the years could form a reinforced company, he was still a virgin.

One night, while driving back from Milan to Paris, Friedrich felt too sleepy, so he simply parked by the roadside and went to sleep.

After all, there were inevitably some drug-fueled street racers at night. Friedrich cherished his life, so he decided to make do by the roadside for one night.

Friedrich quickly fell asleep. He had driven for a long time that day. In his drowsy state, he seemed to hear the sound of glass being smashed.

It must be another zero-yuan shopping spree downstairs again! Since it had nothing to do with him, and there were quite a few of those guys in Paris anyway—their racial talent was like that.

Friedrich never had a good expression when he saw those guys. But since he lived upstairs, they could do whatever they wanted; it had nothing to do with him.

…Wait, wasn't I parked by the highway? And I'm not at home right now, so the sound of glass breaking…

TMD, someone's stealing my car!

Friedrich suddenly became alert. He sprang up from the back seat. Ever since he left Schicksal, he hadn't lost to anyone in a fight!

If anyone dared to offend him, he would make sure they returned in defeat!

In the darkness, Friedrich couldn't clearly see the person in the driver's seat, but it seemed to be a woman?

Good, a woman was good. If it were a man, there was still a chance of things going wrong, but with a woman, it would be fine.

Friedrich might have gotten carried away. After leaving Schicksal for a few years, he no longer knew his own limits and had forgotten the fear of being dominated by Valkyries.

"Car thief, you'd better behave and go to the police station." As Friedrich spoke, he reached out to grab the other party's hand. The car hadn't been started yet, so even if he controlled her hands, there was no fear of causing an accident.

But immediately after, Friedrich felt a familiar sensation—that fear of being dominated by Valkyries.

In just an instant, Friedrich was dragged out from the back seat and pinned onto the passenger seat. During the process, someone turned on the car's dome light.

"Heroine, spare me! Heroine, spare me…" Friedrich's long-dead memories awakened, and he very smoothly begged for mercy.

"I am a Valkyrie on a mission. I need to requisition your vehicle. Don't worry, I won't harm you. Schicksal will give you the compensation you deserve…"

The Valkyrie's words suddenly stopped halfway. She seemed to have recognized who the man she was pinning down was.

The originally business-like tone became complicated.

"It's actually you, Friedrich…"

Hearing the familiar name, Friedrich couldn't help but move his hands away from his face and saw the equally familiar person.

"Elena…"

(Note: I feel that if this keeps being written, it might deviate from the main storyline. Moreover, these two characters were originally created by me just to supplement Ana's background, so I'll only write one chapter for them. If you guys are interested later, I can treat it as a side story.)
