Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: Kiana Kaslana

"Hey! What are you looking at, you guy? Is this young lady that good-looking?" The one scolding Shun was a girl with two large white spiral twintails. Her eyes, as clear as a lake, were filled with dissatisfaction.

Only then did Shun come back to his senses.

Long time no see, Kiana Kaslana. Shun really wanted to say that right now, but… this should be their first meeting. He had already made the other party angry, so he wouldn't court death like that.

"Rent, rent. May I ask this young lady's name?" Shun instantly got into character. He acted as if he hadn't just torn down half of the rental notice, pretending to paste it back up again.

"Hmph, then listen well. This young lady's name is Kiana Kaslana!" When Kiana said her own name, she looked smug and proud. It was clear that she really liked her name and took great pride in it.

"European? Which country?" Shun continued the conversation.

"Sigh~ This young lady can't remember clearly either. My dad said I was badly injured before and can't recall memories before I was eight. But I think I grew up in Siberia."

"Then, Miss Kiana, are you sure you want to rent my house? This location is good, but the price isn't cheap." In order to pretend to be the original owner of the house, Shun had put in a lot of effort.

"Isn't it just forty thousand Japanese yen per month? This young lady has plenty of money." When money was mentioned, Kiana instantly perked up. Ever since her stinky dad disappeared to who-knows-where, she had been carrying his black card and traveling half the world, never having to worry about money.

After speaking, Kiana started rummaging through her luggage, swearing to let this young landlord Shun see what a real black card looked like.

"Eh…! My card…?" Kiana was already sweating profusely. She had been searching for so long but still couldn't find the card… Could it be… she lost it?

No way! She had just bragged so big, and now she was getting slapped in the face? Where was she supposed to hide her face? If there weren't people around, Kiana estimated she would already be rolling on the ground.

That was her card her stinky dad's card with so many zeros on it. If she really lost it, what was she going to do?

"What's wrong, Miss Kiana?" Shun looked suspiciously at Kiana, who had been squatting on the ground for a long time. Searching for a card shouldn't take this long… Wait, could it be that she actually lost it?

The more Shun thought about it, the more likely it seemed. After all, before Worm found her external brain, although she wasn't stupid, she wasn't particularly smart either. Shun really felt it was eight or nine times out of ten.

"Miss Kiana, could it be that… you dropped your card?"

Hearing the landlord's voice from behind, Kiana couldn't help but feel a chill down her back, as if she were being suffocated by a python. She turned around stiffly like a robot, looked at Shun, and said,

"Hahaha, Landlord, you guessed so accurately! You must be a magician, right?" Kiana felt so embarrassed that she could dig a whole Siberia with her toes.

"Sigh, never mind. Looking at your uniform, you should be a student at Senba Academy, right?" Shun suddenly changed the subject, but a net had already been cast in an instant, just waiting for this stray wildcat Kiana to step into the trap.

Hearing Shun's words, Kiana immediately felt "a village appears beyond the dark willows and bright flowers." She hurriedly replied, "Ah, that's right! How did you know, Landlord?"

Shun glanced at the school uniform emblem on Kiana's chest and silently thought to himself, "Even if I didn't know the plot, I would know with one look. Girl, please be a little more alert."

"You're a European girl coming all the way to Japan to study it's not easy. And you even lost your card. However, Senba Academy is an elite school, so I'm not afraid that you really have no money."

"How about this you write an IOU and owe it for now. You can pay me back when you go home during the holidays or when you manage to contact your family." Although Shun knew Kiana had no family she could contact, in order to lure Kiana in, he still had to do this.

"Landlord! You really are a great person!" As she spoke, Kiana was about to pounce on him. Shun hurriedly pushed her away, but strength had never been his strong suit. Plus, his reaction was too rushed, so he was still using a weak leverage. As expected, he was tackled to the ground by Kiana.

"Kiana, if you don't get up right now, I'm going to make you pay medical fees!" Hearing the words "medical fees," Kiana quickly got up and helped Shun to his feet.

"Landlord, are you serious? You're really willing to let me stay and eat here for free?" Kiana immediately clung to him persistently, afraid that Shun would regret it.

In truth, Kiana was also testing him. If Shun said yes, she would immediately turn around and leave, because that would mean he definitely had ill intentions. Although a man couldn't really do anything to her, it would still be very troublesome.

Shun naturally wouldn't fall for it. "First, I didn't say you could stay for free. You still have to pay back the money. Second, it's not free food either. But if you're willing to clean the entire building every day, I can try cooking for you."

Kiana secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Good thing this landlord's thinking was normal. As long as it was paid, it was fine. She was only afraid of those guys who would plot something after seeing her beauty.

"Okay, okay, Landlord-sama. Is this luggage at the door yours? Did you just come back from a business trip out of town?" After receiving Shun's permission to move in, Kiana instantly turned into his number one lackey and was about to help Shun carry his bags.

"No, I also just moved in." Shun answered honestly. This house had been unoccupied for a long time. Even if he lied, it would be obvious, so there was no need to hide it.

"What? You also just moved in? You're not the landlord? You tricked me?!" Kiana was so angry she wanted to throw Shun's bag on the ground, but she was afraid there might be something valuable inside.

"Kiana? Getting all heated up already? This is my first time living here, but I never said this house wasn't mine, did I?"

Kiana, who had just been fuming, immediately had clear eyes again upon hearing this. She said somewhat bashfully, "Ah, I was just scared! It's really hard for me to come to Japan alone!"

"Have you read The Chameleon? You should go read it." With that, Shun consciously left the still-dazed Kiana standing there and entered the house.

"The Chameleon?" Kiana actually quite liked that. Was there a book with that name too?

Coming back to her senses, Kiana looked at the large and small bags all over the ground and at Shun, whose back was the only thing visible. She gritted her teeth, picked up everything with both hands, and followed after Shun.

"By the way, this place hasn't been lived in for a long time. Remember to clean up later, Kiana-san." Turning his head, Shun didn't forget to remind her.
