OMG WHERE HAD THIS GIRL GONE AGAIN!
i only lost jayla's sight for a few minutes and she already went somewhere . as i was searching for her, i bumped into carter . i quickly apologized and kept searching
no wonder grace told me that jayla had a crush on carter . he kept such an intense gaze.
i kept searching for jayla until i finally found her near the coffin crying . i went near her and comforted her by taking her to a seat and giving her water to drink .
i knew this was painful for her because grace had been there with her from the start . any time we would talk she she would always manage to make grace appear in the conversation somehow .
even if grace got a scratch she would immediately be panicked . she would never hurt her . now jayla is going to guiltrip for life . maybe i should tell her .
only if she knew .
only if she knew that grace had cancer . Acute myeloid leukemia . that was the name of the cancer .the cancer is an aggressive blood cancer starting in the bone marrow, causing abnormal, immature myeloid cells to rapidly replace healthy blood cells . i learned all this since the day grace told me she had cancer . i remember her words
grace said that ' adrian , listen to me carefully . i just found out i have cancer . acute myeloid leukemia to be exact . i know i am the only one jayla really counts as family . she's going through a lot so don't tell her . please , i don't want to see her cry . it makes my heart hurt so please don't tell her '
grace wanted the best for jayla even though she was going something way worse . i guess this is what real friendship is called .
grace's mother told me that grace had died partially because of cancer .
i wish i could tell jayla but i can't because a promise is a promise .
JAYLA POV
as i was walking away from the adrian to the washroom i bumped into someone . when i looked up i saw it was carter. but this time he really was staring at my face .
he mumbled '' you really don't remember me ?''
i looked up at him and asked ''what?''
he looked shocked '' so it is true , you really don't remember me ''
''wait a minute , what are you implying?''
he smirked and said ''let's talk somewhere else''
he handed me a business card and said
''let's talk at 8 sharp come to this office '' he said kneeling down to my height
i took the card in confusion and saw carter walk away . i went to the washroom and freshened up .
i met up with adrian after . i showed him the card . i saw his face turn pale before looking back at me . he gulped and asked me carefully
''are you sure you want to go''
'' yeah , why not?''
''listen i can't tell you everything , just umm stay safe ''
that was weird . i entered the car with adrian . he was calling someone and whispering in the phone . the car suddenly stopped to a halt . adrian turned around and looked at me .
he said '' jayla we are outside of his building , do you really wanna go ?''
i sighed and said '' adrian , stop lying just tell me the truth ''
he gulped and said '' jayla , that man was in your past is all i can say ''
''wait , what do you mean '' he didn't respond and just held my hand
''promise me that if you need help you will call me '' he said with pleading eyes
''yes but just tell me more ''
''im sorry '' he said and opened the car door . i walked out glancing at him . he looked worried and anxious .
as i said goodbye and entered the building , i realised i should have never stepped here.
