Cecilia's shoulders relaxed in visible relief. She had spent the entire walk overthinking whether the dress was too much or too little, but hearing him call it perfect sent a small thrill through her chest.
With that, they began walking toward the central district at an unhurried pace.
The streets had grown quieter now, lanterns casting warm golden pools of light across the stone paths.
For the first few minutes, silence lingered between them.
Comfortable.
Yet strangely charged.
Cecilia glanced sideways at him, violet eyes flickering beneath the lantern glow.
"I still can't believe you showed up at my door. After seeing you're part of the academy now… I assumed you'd be focused entirely on training."
Logan gave a faint smile.
"Training matters. But so do promises."
He glanced toward her briefly.
"How have you been since the coffee date?"
