Chapter 126 - Roma Spotlight Part One

Inside the Royal Mansion—

The large entrance doors slowly opened.

Saito walked in first.

Bomb, Rin, Alya, and Fanny followed behind him.

Their clothes were covered in dust from the battle.

The guards standing near the entrance immediately stepped aside.

At the far end of the hall—

Martha was already waiting.

The moment she saw them—

Her eyes widened.

She quickly hurried over.

"Oh, thank God..."

"You all are okay..."

Saito gave a small nod.

"...Yeah."

"We're fine."

Martha let out a relieved sigh.

"I was so worried."

She looked over the rest of the Blue Scarf crew one by one.

Bomb raised a hand with a grin.

"See?"

"Not even a scratch."

Fanny laughed.

"He's exaggerating."

"You got punched twice."

Bomb rubbed the back of his head.

"...Details."

Rin rested his scythe against his shoulder.

"We finished the job."

Alya nodded quietly.

"The assassins have been dealt with."

Martha placed a hand over her chest.

"Thank goodness..."

"I'm just glad everyone came back safely."

Saito smiled faintly.

"...Thanks."

The mansion finally felt quiet again after the fierce battle.

For the first time since leaving—

The Blue Scarf crew was home.

The sound of footsteps echoed through the entrance hall.

A familiar voice followed.

"...So you finally made it here."

Marquis walked toward them with his usual composed expression.

Beside him was Alpha.

Alpha crossed his arms and gave a small nod.

"...Perfect."

Saito smiled faintly.

"...Yeah."

"We're back."

Marquis looked over the Blue Scarf crew for a moment.

His expression softened slightly.

"I know..."

"It should be a time of sadness."

"You lost one of your friends."

A brief silence filled the hall.

No one spoke.

Then Marquis continued.

"But tonight..."

"The Roma Spotlight will be held."

Saito looked at him.

"...Good."

"We'll be waiting for it."

A small smile appeared on Marquis's face.

"...Be amazed."

"We, the people of Roma..."

"...will show outsiders..."

"...the true meaning of the Roma Spotlight."

The Blue Scarf crew exchanged quiet glances.

Even after everything that had happened—

The night was far from over.

Inside his room—

The evening sky stretched across the horizon.

The last rays of sunlight slowly faded beyond the rooftops of Roma City.

Saito stood on the balcony.

His hands rested lightly on the railing.

He let out a quiet sigh.

"..."

The door behind him creaked open.

Footsteps echoed softly across the room.

Alpha walked in.

The old man stopped beside Saito, leaning lightly on his cane.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Then Saito broke the silence.

"...So."

"You found his whereabouts?"

Alpha lowered his gaze slightly.

"Unfortunately..."

"I underestimated Void."

"He noticed me at the last minute."

Saito nodded slowly.

"...I see."

Silence returned.

The evening breeze drifted across the balcony.

Then Alpha spoke again.

"But..."

"After seeing your crew..."

"I realized one thing, Blue Scarf."

Saito glanced at him.

"...What is it?"

A gentle smile appeared on Alpha's face.

"...Just don't give up on your crew."

"That's all I'm going to say."

With that, Alpha turned around.

His cane tapped softly against the wooden floor as he walked toward the door.

Without another word—

He left the room.

The door closed quietly behind him.

Saito stood there for a moment.

Then a small smile appeared on his face.

He turned back toward the balcony—

His eyes fixed on the city below as night slowly settled over Roma.

Inside the house where Void was staying—

The room was quiet.

A map of Roma City was spread across a large table.

Several candles flickered softly, casting long shadows across the walls.

Kaito sat near the window.

He looked up at the night sky beyond the glass.

A faint smile touched his face.

"...How are you doing over there, Saito..."

The door opened quietly.

Void entered the room.

His emotionless white mask hid every trace of expression.

Behind him walked his elderly subordinate.

The blind old man stopped respectfully.

"Sir Void..."

"It seems they defeated Frox."

Void remained silent for a moment.

"...I see."

Kaito's slight smile remained.

Void turned his masked face toward him.

"...Happy, I see."

Kaito nodded once.

"...Yeah."

"Because..."

"He just defeated someone..."

"...without me."

Void looked back toward the table.

"...Well."

"He helped us eliminate one of the Noctarions' competitors."

Kaito shrugged.

"...Yeah, yeah."

"You're using him."

Void didn't answer.

He simply shifted his attention to the map spread across the table.

After a brief silence, he spoke.

"...So."

"...Tonight..."

"...the Roma Spotlight will begin."

Void's gaze remained on the map.

After a moment, he turned toward the blind old man.

"...Are the preparations ready?"

The old man gave a respectful nod.

"Yes, Sir Void."

"Everything has been arranged."

Before anyone spoke again—

The door opened.

A tigerbeast woman stepped inside.

She bowed slightly.

"Sir Void."

"I've assigned all of our men to their positions."

Void gave a small nod.

"...Good."

His masked face slowly turned toward Kaito.

"...You're not going to stop me?"

Kaito let out a quiet sigh.

"...If that's your plan..."

"...then go on."

He leaned back in his chair.

"But Saito will defeat you."

"...That's all I have to say."

Silence filled the room.

Then Void answered calmly.

"...We'll see about that."

The room fell quiet once more.

Outside—

Night had fully settled over Roma City.

Inside Void's hideout—

Void stood before his gathered forces.

The room was silent.

Every soldier waited for his command.

Void slowly looked toward the map of Roma City.

Then—

"Tonight..."

A pause.

"And the day after it..."

His voice remained calm.

"But this city..."

"...will belong to the Noctarion."

For a moment—

Silence.

Then—

"YES!"

"FOR NOCTARION!"

The room erupted.

Cheers filled the hideout.

The soldiers raised their weapons, their voices shaking the walls.

Void turned away from them.

One by one, the group began moving.

Their destination—

Roma Village.

Meanwhile—

Inside Roma Village.

The atmosphere was completely different.

The streets were filled with visitors.

Lights decorated every corner.

Music and laughter spread throughout the area.

At the large spectator seats—

Saito and the Blue Scarf crew sat together, waiting.

Saito looked around at the crowd.

"So this is the Roma Spotlight..."

Before he could say more—

A familiar voice came from behind.

"Oh."

"You already here."

Saito turned.

"Henry."

Henry smiled and walked over.

He sat down beside Rin.

"I brought some meat."

He opened a container and handed pieces to the others.

Alya accepted it with a small nod.

"Thanks."

Fanny immediately grabbed hers.

"Yummy!"

Bomb laughed.

"You really only care about food."

Fanny ignored him and continued eating happily.

Then—

BOOM!

The sky suddenly lit up.

Fireworks exploded above Roma Village.

The entire crowd looked upward.

Children pointed excitedly.

Visitors gasped in amazement.

Colorful lights filled the night sky.

Then—

A single performer walked onto the stage.

He raised his arms toward the audience.

"Welcome..."

"To the Roma Spotlight!"

The moment he finished speaking—

The stage erupted.

Bright lights flashed.

Smoke surrounded the performers.

Music filled the entire village.

The crowd stood and applauded.

Cheers echoed through Roma Village.

Saito looked toward the stage quietly.

The celebration had begun.

The fireworks continued to fade across the night sky.

The lights from the stage reflected across the faces of the crowd.

Saito leaned back slightly in his seat.

A small smile appeared.

"Here it is, guys."

Bomb stretched his arms out and relaxed.

"Finally..."

"Some relaxing time."

Rin looked around at the lively atmosphere.

"Not bad."

Alya quietly watched the stage, observing the performance preparations.

Fanny continued eating happily.

"This is great."

The performer on stage raised his hand.

The music slowly changed.

The lights shifted toward the entrance of the stage.

"And now..."

"Please welcome..."

"Our dancing performers!"

The crowd immediately became louder.

A group of female performers walked gracefully onto the stage.

Their costumes shined under the lights.

The music started.

As they moved in perfect rhythm, the entire stage came alive.

The audience clapped along with the beat.

Saito watched quietly from his seat.

For a moment—

There was no battle.

No enemies.

No missions.

Only the Roma Spotlight.
