Chapter 31 - New Member

Inside the mansion—

Kuro leaned comfortably against the sofa while holding a drink in one hand.

"…Not bad."

He glanced around the luxurious room again.

"Way better than the old days."

Takashi sighed quietly from nearby.

"…That's because we actually maintain it."

Meanwhile—

Saito stepped outside the mansion alone.

The village air felt calm.

Peaceful.

He slowly walked through the streets, quietly scouting around like usual.

Villagers greeted him as he passed.

Some bowed respectfully.

Others smiled warmly.

Saito waved back awkwardly each time.

Then his steps slowed.

Ahead of him—

A newly built row of houses stood near the edge of the village.

Simple.

But clean and comfortable.

The homes built for the rescued slaves.

Saito quietly walked closer.

Children played outside while several adults carried supplies between houses.

The atmosphere felt calm compared to the fear they once carried.

Saito looked around silently.

Then noticed someone standing nearby.

The masked man.

Still wearing the same mask.

He stood beside one of the houses with his arms crossed.

The moment he noticed Saito, he gave a small nod.

"…Hi there."

Saito stopped beside him.

"…Hey."

"How are your people doing?"

The masked man looked toward the houses quietly.

"…The people here welcomed us nicely."

"They even help us with daily work."

His voice softened slightly.

"…It's all thanks to you."

Saito scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"…No need to mention it."

The masked man looked at him for a moment.

Then suddenly asked—

"…You're a gangster, right?"

Saito blinked.

"…Yeah?"

"How many people are in your gang?"

Saito answered honestly.

"…Right now?"

"Only me and Kaito."

The masked man stayed silent briefly.

Then finally spoke.

"…Bomb."

Saito tilted his head slightly.

"…Huh?"

The masked man pointed lightly toward himself.

"My name."

"Bomb."

Then he looked directly at Saito.

"…I want to join your gang."

Saito froze immediately.

"…Wait."

"What?"

Inside the mansion—

Saito pushed open the office door and stepped inside.

Kaito was already there, sitting lazily on the sofa with one arm resting behind his head.

The moment he saw Saito—

"…Where've you been?"

Takashi sat nearby with several stacks of paperwork already prepared.

"And more importantly," he added calmly,

"these are all the papers you still need to sign."

Saito immediately looked exhausted.

"…Again?"

Takashi adjusted the documents neatly.

"Yes. Again."

Before Saito could complain further—

He suddenly remembered something.

"…Before that."

Both Takashi and Kaito looked up.

Then—

Bomb quietly walked into the office behind Saito.

Kaito blinked once.

"…Oh."

"You."

Bomb gave a small nod toward him.

Saito stepped slightly aside and pointed toward Bomb.

"Kaito."

"Bomb's our new member now."

Kaito stared at Bomb for a moment.

Then shrugged casually.

"…Well."

"Sounds good to me."

Bomb crossed his arms lightly.

"…Thanks for welcoming me."

A brief silence followed.

Then Bomb tilted his head slightly.

"…So."

"What's your gang name?"

The room went quiet.

Saito blinked.

"…Gang name?"

Kaito slowly looked toward him.

Takashi also stopped writing.

Saito scratched his cheek awkwardly.

"…I actually never thought about it."

Kaito let out a tired sigh.

"You became one of the strongest gangsters in Jokun City…"

"…without naming your gang?"

Saito looked around the room awkwardly.

Then his eyes stopped.

On the wall nearby—

A blue scarf hung quietly.

The same scarf he wore when he first met Kaito.

Saito stared at it for a second.

Then smiled slightly.

"…Well."

"How about…"

He pointed toward it.

"…Blue Scarf Gang."

Kaito smirked faintly.

"…Classic."

"But nice."

Bomb nodded once.

"…I like it."

Takashi sighed while pulling another sheet of paper toward himself.

"…Great."

"Looks like I need even more paperwork now to officially record that name."

Downstairs—

The atmosphere inside the mansion had become far more relaxed.

Ling and Jori sat comfortably around the table while enjoying drinks served by Saito's maids.

Kuro leaned back nearby with one leg crossed over the other.

"…Now this," he said while lifting the glass slightly,

"…is proper living."

Jori nodded quickly.

"Way better than sleeping in abandoned buildings."

Ling calmly took another sip.

"…You say that every time."

At that moment—

Footsteps approached from the stairs.

Saito walked down together with Kaito and Bomb behind him.

The group downstairs looked over immediately.

Saito stopped in front of them proudly.

"…Alright, allies."

All three stared at him.

Saito crossed his arms slightly.

"…From now on…"

"You can call us…"

He paused dramatically.

"…The Blue Scarf Gang."

Silence.

Then—

Kuro immediately frowned.

"…Lame."

Saito's expression dropped instantly.

"Hey."

"That's inappropriate."

Jori looked toward Kaito in disbelief.

"…Serious, senior?"

"YOU agreed to that name?"

Ling rubbed his forehead slightly.

"…I expected something cooler."

Kaito shrugged calmly.

"…My captain gave the name."

"I just follow along."

Saito pointed at him immediately.

"See? Kaito understands loyalty."

Kuro snorted quietly into his drink.

Then suddenly—

Tina rushed into the room excitedly.

"Blue Scarf?"

Her eyes sparkled instantly.

"That's cool!"

Saito immediately pointed toward her dramatically.

"Finally."

"Someone appreciates it."

Tina quickly climbed onto a chair and struck a dramatic pose with one arm raised high.

"Blue Scarf Gang—assembly!"

The room fell quiet for half a second.

Then—

Kaito smirked.

Ling laughed softly.

Even Kuro let out a small chuckle.

And slowly—

Everyone in the room began smiling together.

Far from Lorum Village—

Another village stood quietly beneath the evening sky.

Unlike the other villages around Jokun City—

This one looked far wealthier.

At the back of the village—

A massive white building towered above everything else.

Elegant.

Clean.

Almost castle-like.

Meanwhile—

The center of the village remained crowded with people moving between rows of shops and restaurants.

Merchants shouted proudly.

Music drifted through the streets.

The atmosphere felt lively.

Near one of the food stalls—

Several villagers talked while looking at a poster.

"Hey, did you hear?"

"About that new gangster who defeated Goldy?"

Another man scoffed immediately.

"That's impossible."

"Goldy wasn't some random thug."

The first villager pointed toward the poster.

"Well according to this, it's real."

A third man leaned closer.

"Blue Scarf Gang…"

"…Never heard of them before."

As the conversation continued—

A woman quietly walked past them.

Cat ears rested on top of her head while her long tail swayed gently behind her.

Her sharp eyes briefly glanced toward the poster.

Then narrowed slightly.

Without saying a word—

She continued walking.

Toward the massive white building.

The guards at the entrance immediately stepped aside for her.

She walked through long hallways calmly before reaching a large office.

Inside—

A young man sat behind an elegant desk.

White suit.

White hat.

Everything about him looked expensive.

Controlled.

The Catwoman stopped in front of him.

"…Looks like there's a kid whose name is rising past yours."

The man calmly continued sipping his drink.

Then smiled faintly.

"…Well."

He slowly placed the glass down.

"Let him enjoy it while it lasts."

In Lorum Village—

Saito, Kaito, Bomb, and Takeru stood outside the mansion while several villagers worked carefully on the rooftop above them.

Large ropes hung down from the edge as the villagers adjusted something near the top of a tall pole.

Saito shaded his eyes while looking upward.

"…You sure this is going to look good?"

Nearby, Fein crossed his arms.

"…Sorry if it turns out bad."

Saito looked at him immediately.

"Well…"

He grinned slightly.

"Let's find out if it is."

Above them—

The villagers finally finished tying the ropes.

"Ready!"

One of them shouted.

Then slowly—

The flag rose upward along the pole.

The cloth fluttered heavily in the wind before unfolding completely beneath the bright sky.

A deep blue flag.

Two swords circled around each other at the center.

And between them—

A building symbol stood proudly.

Representing Lorum Village itself.

The wind blew strongly across it.

The flag waved proudly above the mansion.

Saito's eyes widened.

"…Wow."

Kaito looked up calmly beside him.

"…Not bad."

Bomb gave a slow nod.

"…Looks strong."

Fein smirked slightly.

"…It is."

Then suddenly—

Saito raised both fists into the air excitedly.

"THAT'S AWESOME!"

"WOOHOO!!"

Several villagers immediately laughed from the rooftop.

Takeru covered part of his face with one hand.

"…Why are you acting like a kid?"

Saito pointed proudly toward the flag.

"Because look at it!"

"That's OUR flag!"

The blue banner continued waving high above the village while the people below smiled proudly beneath it.
