The sun still shined bright outside, and below it--upon the grass was Koji, a very curious Koji
walking towards where all of his classmates--and of course, Cecilia were gathered; Cecilia had called everyone over, and Koji had yet to know why--after a couple seconds, Koji reached the area in which Cecilia had called him and everybody else to.
While everyone else decided to sit down, Koji was not exactly paying attention to the other kids; therefore, he proceeded to keep his state of standing up, and his eyes fell upon Cecilia.
Her slim waist, her blonde hair; if it was anyone of Koji's real age, they would automatically feel attracted to her; of course, while some people may be outliers--unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, Koji was not one of them.
'Damn... I've never really taken the time to look at her fully.'
Even during her fight, where she was wearing her most revealing clothing--Koji was preoccupied to say the least.
His eyes drifted over her perky, plump breasts hidden under her rather humble clothing--her soft thighs that one could see a bit of despite her non revealing attire; overall, she was absolutely stunning to Koji--and well of course, would be to any man.
Cecilia, not noticing Koji's eyes relishing every curve on her body, started to explain why she called everyone over.
"As you all know, we have already begun classes; these classes are meant to prepare you for the Academy, and to also learn to get along with other kids. Me and many other private teachers met up yesterday evening and decided upon something we thought would be fun--in just six more months, we will host a tournament between five of our independent schools. This tournament will have two categories: Relic battle and sword duels. The Relic battle will have many different kids competing to see who can hit the most targets within a minute with their respective Relics--of course, the sword duels are pretty self explanatory; that tournament will work like the one we did."
Cecilia explained the situation as briefly as she could; when the actual tournament came, it would be explained more in depth, so her revealing every little detail was currently unnecessary.
"Alright, does anyone have any questions?"
Everyone thought about whether they should ask a question or not; the reactions varied but were ultimately pretty good; some people seemed a bit worried, though most looked very excited.
And Koji, well he was also very excited.
'Haha! Another tournament--this one, I'm sure I'll do well in; these kids obviously have much less Relic prowess than I do. Eh, well the sword tournament exists.... I'm not exactly the greatest with a sword--well, whatever--I'm sure throughout these six months Cecilia will teach me how to use one at least to a pretty decent extent.'
Though, Koji didn't stay in his own head for too long as he was also very curious towards what questions he should ask--of course, he would only ask them if no one else ended up asking them; the reason for this being, is something Koji found a bit odd within himself--why wouldn't he just ask first? Was he scared? Was it too much work? Well, both of these answers didn't really align with Koji; he came to the conclusion that it was simply because he was interested in seeing if others were also concerned with what he was too.
Koji prepared some questions like what the reward would be for winning, if there was any actual importance in doing well, and if the Relic competition would have a separate reward from the sword one.
Of course, these are pretty common wishes--so Koji figured out very quickly if he would have to ask them himself or not.
"Ms. Cecilia, will there be any reward?"
One kid with long, brown hair and golden eyes spoke up as she raised her hand--for what seemed absolutely no reason, as she simply blurted out her question.
"Yes actually--each separate competition will hold different rewards; for the Relic contest, the reward will be a Relic given by me and the other teachers according to whatever Mantra you focus on--now, the duel contests reward is even better."
"As all of you know, Weapon Relics are very sought after, no matter how weak they are--always, and I mean always they are better than stand alone Relics of the same class; in fact, you will rarely ever see anyone above Midstreamer using anything other than Weapon Relics. Now, the winner of the duels will have a Weapon Relic made for them by me!"
At Cecilia's answer, some of the students eyes went wide, some of them smiled in excitement, some of them frowned in defeat--they knew they stood no chance against the other students, and would most likely miss out on the opportunity when it came.
The young girl who was the one to ask the question was among the excited ones, and of course--so was Ecchi.
"A Weapon Relic, this is such a good opportunity!"
"My mother may finally pay attention to me if I win this!"
"With a Weapon Relic, I'd be the most powerful here!"
The different kids all said various words in reaction to what Cecilia told them, of course some of their words were a bit odder than others...
The scene grew quiet eventually, and the reactions slowly calmed; everyone pretty much considered this opportunity to be one of the most important things they would be faced with in their lives--well, not everyone.
Koji, well he simply considered this a mild advancement if he happened to win it.
'Looks like everyone is focused on winning the Weapon Relic and not the Relic that can be won by the other contest, this may be a good thing... If everyone is so focused towards the duel contest, I may be able to sneak a win in the Relic one.'
Except, although Koji's view upon the situation was rather different from the others, his course of thought didn't differ from the norm too much.
'Haha! But no, that is useless--I'd take a small advancement over a miniature one; who cares if this one is the obviously--and well, way more difficult challenge. Hehe, every other boy and girl are thinking the same as me--though, who cares if they are? In the end, the thought is something of rather irrelevance; it is the person who has the thought that matters.'
Those who were too concerned with thinking differently, and snaking their way to the win no matter how much less impactful it is--these people were not of Koji's kind, though he would not demonize such a thing; at least they chose to be safe.
Koji's original thought was always to take the easiest path, though that did not mean take the easier path to the smaller reward--no, it meant taking the easiest path to the biggest reward!
