Sophie devised a plan. I knew this because she arrived at Marlene's Corner with a whiteboard and a manic gleam in her eyes that usually preceded chaos of the highest order. Kevin followed behind her with his laptop and the resigned expression of someone who had already accepted his fate.
"We need to test if Lucas is actually jealous or just protective," Sophie announced, positioning her whiteboard in the center of the café. Marlene watched from behind the counter with the weary acceptance of someone who had seen everything and was no longer capable of surprise.
"How," Kevin asked, though his tone suggested he already regretted asking.
Sophie grinned. "We make him think someone else is interested in Vivian."
"Adrian already did that. Lucas timed his handshakes and reorganized sugar packets aggressively. We have data."
