"What's wrong with the conditions?"
Shuya looked at Makomo in confusion.
Providing Conjuration-type aura to Sabito and the others, plus helping them get rid of the Hand Demon on Mount Fujikasane…
Weren't those the two things they needed most right now?
Makomo didn't answer right away. Instead, she asked in her usual light, airy voice, "Didn't you mention earlier that Mr. Urokodaki just took in two new disciples? And that they're currently talking with him down at the base?"
"That's right. I did say that."
Shuya nodded and added helpfully, "They're the Kamado brothers. The older one, Tanjiro Kamado, has a nose just as sharp as Mr. Urokodaki's. Quite the coincidence, isn't it?"
"Really? That's wonderful news."
Makomo's face lit up with genuine happiness. She turned to Sabito and asked, "Don't you think so too, Sabito?"
"Not really."
Sabito turned his head away with a tsundere huff.
But the slight upward curve at the corners of his mouth was enough to show that he was genuinely happy Mr. Urokodaki had found such suitable new disciples.
He quickly urged Makomo, "How long are you going to keep dragging this out? I'm still waiting to go see Mr. Urokodaki. Hurry up!"
"Mm."
Makomo nodded, then pointed at the clause on the parchment about Shuya helping them deal with the Hand Demon. "Sir, could you please remove this condition?"
Before Shuya could even respond, Sabito shouted in shock, "What?! Makomo, do you know what you're saying?! Do you want to see more junior disciples die at the Hand Demon's hands and make Mr. Urokodaki suffer again?!"
Sabito stared at her in disbelief, completely unable to understand why she would make such a decision.
"I just… I just feel like having the gentleman solve the Hand Demon for us would feel a little incomplete."
Makomo blinked and said softly, "If possible, I'd rather let Mr. Urokodaki's new disciples be the ones to defeat it."
"I see."
Hearing her explanation, Sabito finally understood and nodded in agreement. "You're right."
Shuya looked at Makomo. "You're sure?"
He couldn't help but feel a little emotional.
So in the end, the Hand Demon—the minor boss—was still going to be left for Tanjiro to handle?
Makomo thought about it one more time, then nodded firmly. "I'm sure. Please remove that condition, sir."
"Understood."
Shuya didn't mind at all. If he didn't have to go deal with the Hand Demon himself, it meant one less trip to Mount Fujikasane. He was more than happy to take it easy.
He took the parchment back from Makomo, crushed it in his hand, and conjured a brand-new one.
This time, the only condition listed was providing Conjuration-type aura so Sabito and the others could manifest.
"Thank you, sir."
Makomo accepted the new scroll, quickly scanned the contents, and said, "I agree!"
The moment the words left her mouth, the parchment dissolved into a stream of aura and merged directly into her body.
On the surface, she didn't seem to have changed at all. But Shuya could clearly feel the new connection between his own aura and hers.
This feeling was even more incredible than when he used Undead Prelude's silver needles to control zombie Nen users.
He didn't even need words. A single thought was enough for her to understand his intentions.
He could even directly influence her actions, bypassing her own emotions if he wanted.
However, if Makomo ever learned to control Nen herself, she wouldn't be able to share her training progress with him the way his regular contractors did.
So this was what complete ownership really meant?
Shuya didn't hesitate any longer. He began condensing more orbs of Conjuration-type aura in his palm.
Without Makomo's little interruptions, he easily sent the aura orbs into Sabito and the other eleven trainees.
The moment the aura entered their bodies, the once-translucent figures of the Water Breathing group began to solidify.
Shuya tried dispersing the aura he had gathered in his eyes.
Even after canceling Gyo, he could still clearly see them.
Success.
Once everything was done, Shuya leapt up and sat on the large boulder Makomo had been using earlier.
He waved at the group and said, "Go on. Ordinary people can see you now."
"Thank you, sir."
The group exchanged glances, then bowed deeply to Shuya in unison.
Without another word, they turned and headed down the mountain in a large group.
Halfway down, they ran into Shinobu, who was coming up the mountain to look for Shuya.
Shinobu looked curiously at the sudden appearance of so many people.
Had there always been this many people living on Mount Fujikasane?
Were they friends of Mr. Urokodaki?
Or the "friends" Shuya had mentioned going to meet?
For some reason, this group gave her a strange feeling. They seemed oddly familiar, especially the fox masks they were wearing.
Still, Shinobu didn't think too deeply about it. She simply passed by Sabito and the others and continued up the mountain.
After brushing past Shinobu, Sabito and the group quickly reached the base of the mountain.
There they saw Tanjiro and his younger brother standing at attention while receiving a lecture from their teacher—Sakonji Urokodaki.
Tanjiro, with his sharp eyes, spoke up first. "Mr. Urokodaki, someone's coming down from the mountain."
"Someone? Besides the gentleman who went up earlier and Miss Insect Hashira, who else would be up there? Pay attention to what I told you. Don't die at the hands of demons and embarrass me when you're out there slaying them!"
Urokodaki didn't take Tanjiro's words seriously. He assumed the boy was just making excuses to avoid the scolding.
"No, there really are people," Tanjiro insisted.
Seeing how serious Tanjiro was, Urokodaki finally turned around with a doubtful expression.
The moment he saw the familiar figures approaching, his breath caught and his pupils shrank.
Urokodaki rubbed his eyes, his voice trembling. "Sabito? Makomo? Everyone?!"
"Mr. Urokodaki… long time no see."
Sabito and the others had thought they would have so many things they wanted to say.
But the moment they actually saw him, all the words disappeared. The only thing that came out was the simplest, most heartfelt greeting.
Meanwhile, back on the mountain.
Shinobu had finally found her target.
The moment she saw the figure lying lazily on the boulder, irritation bubbled up inside her.
"Hello? Mr. Scumbag, are you still alive? Or did you die already? Maybe I should just dig a hole right here and bury you on the spot?"
Shinobu leapt up and stood directly above Shuya's head, staring straight down at him as she muttered darkly to herself.
