"Percyyyy," I whined dramatically, pointing at Section E. "What are those snakes doing here?"
Then suddenly—
Oh.
The drink.
It hit hard.
The hallway spun slightly.
"…Oops."
My legs felt weird all of a sudden.
I almost slipped—
But Ben caught me quickly.
"Jay—hey, are you okay?" he asked worriedly.
I blinked at him slowly.
Then burst out laughing.
"Hehehe… of course, Bennyyy."
Everyone looked confused.
Except Percy.
He looked completely done with me.
I looked up at Ben with my best puppy eyes.
"Bennyyy… can you take off my jacket? I'm hottt."
Ben sighed dramatically.
"…Fine."
He helped me take it off carefully.
"Finallyyy," I sighed happily. "Freedom."
Then I looked up.
Kiefer.
Ohhh.
His jaw looked so tight I thought it might actually break.
I pointed at him dramatically.
"You look pogiiii… buuut too bad you used me. Ugh. Poor heart."
Kiefer froze.
His ears slowly turned red.
I gasped loudly.
"OH. MY. GOD."
I pointed at him again like I just discovered something illegal.
"MARK WATSON IS BLUSHINGGG!"
Silence.
Complete silence.
Then I looked at Percy with the most serious face possible.
"Kuyaaaa…"
Percy narrowed his eyes immediately.
"…What now?"
"Can I go to his houseeee?"
"WHAT?! NO!"
I blinked at him slowly.
"Whyyyyy?"
"Because you're literally drunk!"
I gasped dramatically.
"I am NOT drunk."
Mia stared at me. "Jay… you just called the floor soft."
I looked down at the floor.
"…It is soft."
Ben covered his face, trying not to laugh.
Keeper just sighed quietly. "She's gone."
"I AM NOT GONE," I protested immediately.
Then I pointed at Kiefer again.
"Look at himmm."
Everyone looked.
Kiefer looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole.
His ears were still red.
I burst out laughing again.
"He's blushing sooo harddd."
"Jay," Kiefer warned quietly.
I pointed at him again.
"OH MY GOD HE TALKS."
Ben actually choked laughing.
Percy looked one second away from throwing me over his shoulder and taking me home.
I turned back to Kiefer with a serious expression.
"You know…" I said dramatically, "you're kinda pogi."
Silence.
Then I narrowed my eyes at him.
"But also stupid."
Mia snorted loudly.
Keeper looked away, hiding a smile.
Kiefer just stared at me helplessly.
I suddenly frowned.
"…Wait."
Everyone froze.
I pointed at Kiefer suspiciously.
"Why do you have two heads?"
"Jay," Percy sighed.
"There's two of him," I whispered seriously to Ben.
Ben nodded immediately. "Yeah, tragic."
"I KNEW IT."
"I KNEW IT," I whispered dramatically.
Ben nodded seriously. "Yeah. There's two of him."
I pointed at the second fake Kiefer.
"This one looks more annoying."
"Jay," Percy warned.
I ignored him completely.
Then I squinted at Kiefer again.
"Waittt…"
Kiefer looked tired already. "What now?"
I pointed at him slowly.
"Why are you so red?"
Silence.
Mia instantly looked away to hide her laugh.
Ben failed completely and started choking.
Keeper rubbed his forehead.
Kiefer's jaw tightened. "I'm not red."
I gasped loudly.
"LIAR."
Then I looked at Percy with betrayal in my eyes.
"Kuya… he lied to me."
Percy crossed his arms. "Good. Maybe now let's go home."
"Nooo."
"Yes."
"Nooo."
"Yes."
I turned dramatically toward Ben.
"Bennyyy save me."
Ben raised both hands immediately. "Nope. I'm not fighting Percy."
"Fake friend," I whispered sadly.
"I heard that."
I ignored him.
Then suddenly I looked at Kiefer again.
Very seriously this time.
"Do you still love me?"
Silence.
The hallway went completely quiet.
Kiefer stared at me for a long moment.
Then finally—
"No."
The word hit me harder than the drink did.
My smile disappeared instantly.
Everything suddenly felt too loud.
Too heavy.
"Oh," I whispered softly.
I laughed a little after it.
But it sounded broken.
"Right…"
Nobody moved.
Nobody spoke.
I looked at Kiefer one more time.
Then smiled slightly.
"Good," I said quietly. "Because I don't love you either."
Lie.
A painful one.
But I said it anyway.
I took one step back.
Then another.
The hallway suddenly spun hard.
Stronger this time.
My breathing slowed.
"…Weird," I muttered.
"Jay?" Ben's voice sounded far away.
My legs gave out completely.
And everything went black.
