Raphael stared at the wall of numbers on the panel, his mouth twitching.

Add it all up and you could buy several small countries.

He was genuinely tempted.

In fact, ever since he finished shooting The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, he had pulled up the panel more than once, drooling over the insane list of options.

The prices were ridiculous, but that wasn't even the biggest problem.

The fatal flaw was that the entire Matrix world was built on top of the Matrix system itself.

In other words, none of Neo's god-mode powers worked in the real world.

Not flight. Not bullet time. Not any of the signature moves.

Want to play superhero?

First buy the related tech and build an actual Matrix platform — something impossible in reality.

Then use the brain-computer interface and consciousness upload to enter it.

Only then could he pull off the cool-as-hell stuff.

As for the biological and energy tech…

Even if he could afford it, what was the point?

If word ever got out that he planned to build a "human farm," he'd be labeled a terrorist and anti-human monster within days, facing down the U.S. military.

Overall, the Matrix world was like an untapped gold mine. But at his current stage, Raphael simply didn't have the resources to mine it — and didn't need to.

He skimmed through the rest of the Matrix items, then shifted his focus to the Pirates of the Caribbean world.

...

Raphael stared at the wall of numbers, feeling his eyes go blurry.

Especially Poseidon's Trident. If he could actually manifest that thing in the real world, he could cosplay Aquaman from the DC movies ten years early.

The hundred-billion price tag was just too absurd.

But some items — like Jack's compass — he was genuinely tempted by.

It pointed to whatever the holder wanted most. Not necessarily treasure. It could be a lost person, a forgotten memory, or even something the holder didn't consciously realize they desired.

The ultimate "think it and it appears" tool.

Too bad the price was heartbreakingly out of reach for his current stage.

He skimmed the rest of the Pirates items, then closed the panel with a sigh.

The dream worlds were getting more and more expensive.

He needed to keep grinding in the real world.

Raphael lay back down, closed his eyes, and finally drifted off to sleep.
