Chapter 83 - The Obstacle

The raid on the Yakuza base had been scheduled for 8:00 AM sharp. The assembled forces stood before the traditional estate. It consisted of:

Nighteye Agency: Sir Nighteye, Lemillion, Bubble Girl, Centipeder, Deku.

Ryukyu Agency: Ryukyu, Uravity, Nejire-Chan, Froppy.

Fat Gum Agency: Fat Gum, Suneater, Red Riot.

Solo Pro Heroes: Rock Lock, Mr. Brave, Eraser Head.

Alongside them stood more than thirty police officers. Veteran members wore bulletproof vests and reinforced helmets. The front line carried riot shields, prepared for close-quarters confrontation.

Every face bore the same expression: seriousness mixed with determination.

They had prepared extensively for this operation, Overhaul must be captured today.

Sir Nighteye stepped forward and pressed the telecom.

The bell rang once.

Silence.

He waited, then pressed it again.

Still nothing.

A third time.

No answer.

Sir Nighteye glanced toward Fat Gum and gave a slight nod.

Fat Gum stepped forward, drew back his arm, and punched.

The wooden gate exploded under the force of the blow.

"Move!" Nighteye ordered.

Heroes rushed in. Police followed in formation.

They stopped almost immediately.

Corpses lay scattered across the front garden.

Fat Gum stared. "What the hell?"

Sir Nighteye approached the enormous body thrown aside. He knelt beside it and placed a hand near the neck.

After a second, he spoke calmly.

"He is dead."

Mr. Brave examined three more bodies nearby.

"These three are dead as well."

Rock Lock's jaw tightened. "Another villain must have attacked the Yakuza. Most likely to steal the drug's secret."

Sir Nighteye's gaze sharpened as he touched the corpse again.

"The bodies are still warm. They were killed recently. Whoever did this may still be inside."

Rock Lock said. "Which means we are stepping into a conflict between two hostile forces instead of conducting a raid on a single organization. That introduces an unpredictable variable."

Lemillion stepped forward urgently. "Sir, we need to hurry. Eri could be in grave danger!"

Sir Nighteye nodded. "We proceed. Halting the operation is not an option. However, we adjust our caution level. I will lead a group inside. Others remain outside to monitor potential exits. If we encounter some unknown individuals, be extra careful and try to understand their quirk first, being able to kill…"

Before further instructions could be issued, something shifted.

Ryukyu's complexion drained of color. Beads of sweat formed along her brow.

Froppy began trembling visibly, her eyes wide with fear. "No… no… stay away…"

Centipeder stiffened. Suneater lowered his gaze, breathing unevenly. Several police officers gripped their shields tighter, hands shaking.

Sir Nighteye looked around in alarm. "Ryukyu. What is happening?"

Ryukyu bit her lip until blood came.

"The world darkened," she said hoarsely. "and a monster appeared… moving toward me. It is… like UA's…."

She paused, then said slowly.

"That boy is close by."

Nearby, Deku froze.

"Junsei?" he whispered.

Ryukyu transformed instantly into her dragon form, wings expanding, eyes locked on the open doorway of the estate.

Sir Nighteye reacted immediately.

"All police retreat! Any personnel unable to operate effectively due to psychological interference, withdraw now!"

Lemillion said "Sir, He's here."

Every hero turned.

The house's front door stood open, revealing a corridor. At the far end, a lone figure walked forward.

A hoodie concealed his hair.

But the eyes, two faintly glowing eyes in the dim corridor.

That was enough of a confirmation.

Kirishima swallowed hard. "What the hell is that monster doing here?"

Sir Nighteye's eyes didn't leave Junsei.

"Be cautious," he said evenly. "He may be the one who killed the Yakuza members."

As Junsei approached, Uravity withdrew, supporting the trembling Froppy alongside most of the police force. Several officers, who could not steady their breathing due Junsei's power, were helped by officers unaffected.

The remaining heroes stayed.

Some were visibly affected, but none stepped back.

Junsei exited the house and surveyed them.

He recognized Momo's classmates and Ryukyu, who he met before.

Another he knew from the inherited memories of All For One.

Sir Nighteye. The sidekick of All Might

The rest were unknown.

Kirishima swallowed. "Why is he so much taller than before?"

No one answered him.

Sir Nighteye narrowed his eyes.

"Are you Junsei? You differ significantly from your last public appearance."

"Yes," Junsei replied.

"So you possess shapeshifting capabilities?"

Junsei did not respond.

Nighteye continued, "Were you the one who attacked the Yakuza? Did you kill these men?"

"Yes."

Deku stepped forward and spoke. "What did you do inside? What about the others? What about Overhaul?"

A sharp glance from Nighteye silenced him immediately.

Junsei tilted his head slightly. "Why? Are you here to capture them?"

"Yes," Nighteye answered. "But we certainly did not anticipate your presence. Why are you here?"

"Forget about them," Junsei said calmly. "You will not find anyone alive today."

A frown creased Nighteye's expression.

Lemillion stepped forward. "What do you mean no one?"

Junsei ignored him.

Instead, he looked directly at Deku.

"I did not understand you back then," he said evenly. "Nor how it functioned. One For All is an abomination. Just like the nomus."

At that exact moment, Nighteye activated his quirk.

In his vision, the future unfolded, Junsei lunging toward Deku, the blow imminent. In the final instant, after a shouted warning, Deku evaded by a fraction.

Reality resumed.

"Deku, dodge!" Nighteye shouted.

Deku leapt backward immediately.

Junsei, who had shifted his weight to move, paused instead.

His gaze turned toward Nighteye.

"I see. So that is your future sight," he said thoughtfully. "It relies on how quickly you and your allies react."

Nighteye's eyes widened. "Why did you stop? You were supposed to attack."

"You warned him," Junsei replied. "I heard it as clearly as he did. Why would I continue?"

"Impossible," Nighteye muttered. "The future is immutable. You should have attacked regardless."

Junsei did not answer.

He began walking toward Nighteye.

"Sir!" Lemillion called, stepping protectively to his side. Deku moved closer as well, preparing himself.

Eraser Head's voice cut in sharply.

"Junsei! You've done enough. You've broken multiple laws. Your battle with All For One harmed civilians. You've executed villains. And now you're threatening heroes on sight without provocation."

His eyes locked onto Junsei.

"Don't you see what you've become? Yaoyorozu and the principal are devastated by your actions."

Junsei's expression did not change.

"No. I am doing what is right."

His gaze shifted again to Deku.

"And now I want the wielder of One For All. That quirk should not exist."

Nighteye's tone hardened. "You are dreaming if you expect we are going to hand him or anyone to you, no matter how powerful you are."

Junsei had already expected that and evaluated them.

From both his own encounters and the knowledge inherited from All For One, he concluded that most of the pro heroes present did not pose significant threat.

Nighteye was disruptive, but physically limited. The only true danger was the inheritor of One For All.

Junsei still remembered the punch from the sports festival.

Eliminating Nighteye took precedence. Removing future sight would prevent any unexpected coordinations.

Junsei raised his hand.

A blood bullet shot toward Nighteye.

Nighteye stepped aside before the projectile fully formed.

Junsei immediately fired dozens more, scattering them across multiple trajectories, saturating every plausible movement path.

Simultaneously, he charged forward.

Nighteye leapt, narrowly avoiding intersecting lines of fire. Metal chess pieces flew from his hands, thrown with precision to intercept and deflect some of the incoming projectiles.

Lemillion dove into the ground.

Deku charged forward to intercept Junsei directly.

Deku's punch came first.

Junsei slipped past it and countered with a punch to Deku's stomach, causing Deku to crash through the wall behind him.

In that instant, Lemillion erupted from the ground like a missile, fist driving upward toward Junsei's chin.

Junsei stepped back, and the blow grazed empty air.

Junsei retaliated immediately with a punch, but his fist passed straight through Lemillion's torso.

Junsei's eyes narrowed.

Then he opened his mouth and unleashed a concentrated sonic attack directly at Lemillion.

The air vibrated violently.

But it did nothing. Lemillion dove into Junsei and phased through him.

Junsei turned sharply with a wide arc punch but Lemillion was already diving into the ground.

As Junsei stared at the ground, from behind him, two figures rushed at him.

Fat Gum charged first, the fat hero moving with surprising speed for his size. One step behind him came Red Riot, Kirishima, in his hardened form.

Junsei had already noticed them the moment they started moving.

He turned to meet Fat Gum's fist, which came like a battering ram.

Junsei caught it, his hand locking around the hero's wrist. In the same motion, Junsei drove a devastating punch into Fat Gum's body.

His fist sank into the hero's thick frame.

The blow launched Fat Gum backward. He tumbled across the gravel and crashed heavily onto the ground, coughing blood.

His fat and quirk absorbed most of the lethal force. If not for that quirk, the strike would have killed him.

Kirishima dodged the flying body of his mentor and kept moving toward Junsei, but just as he approached Junsei's leg was already moving, kicking in his direction.

Kirishima raised both arms to block.

The kick landed and the force was overwhelming for Kirishima.

He shot backward through the broken entrance gate and slammed into the wall across the street.

On the outside road, Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui watched in horror.

Kirishima was planted in the wall unconscious. His arms hung down, their skin and bones were completely broken. His hardened skin across his body had fractured.

Police officers rushed forward immediately to assess his condition.

Junsei watched them for a brief moment.

Then he felt movement behind him.

He turned.

Lemillion emerged from the ground mid-motion, his leg already swinging upward toward Junsei's head.

Junsei raised his arm to intercept.

Lemillion phased through it and his kick connected cleanly with Junsei's face.

Junsei stepped back from the impact and responded instantly with a violent explosion erupted from his hand, engulfing the space between them.

But even an explosion passed harmlessly through Lemillion.

Junsei narrowed his eyes.

"You can phase through explosions as well."

Lemillion stood tall, confidence unwavering.

"Nothing you do can hurt me. Give up your resistance and answer for the crimes you've committed."

Junsei observed him carefully.

"Your quirk does not increase your strength," he said. "But when you phase, you accelerate. Your attacks gain power from momentum."

Lemillion blinked in mild surprise. No opponent had ever understood his ability so quickly.

"That's right," Lemillion admitted. "My quirk, Permeation, allows my body to pass through all matter."

Junsei tilted his head slightly.

"Even sound cannot harm you?"

Lemillion smiled faintly.

"It doesn't matter what attack you use. Fire. Lasers. Explosions. When my quirk is active, nothing affects me."

His voice hardened.

"It's only a matter of time before we bring you down. You should surrender."

Junsei did not respond immediately.

His gaze shifted.

To the side, Izuku Midoriya had risen again, fists clenched, glaring directly at him.

Behind Junsei stood the remaining heroes, waiting for their opening.

Fat Gum had already forced himself back to his feet despite the blood at his lips.

Sir Nighteye stood beside him calculating their next move.

Individually, they were not powerful.

But their quirks: Future sight. Permeation. One For All.

Annoying combinations.

Junsei stood still for a moment, measuring them all.
