Chapter 15 - Chapter 14 – A Day Without Shadows

For the first time in days…

Seoul was quiet.

No explosions.

No dark energy.

No monsters.

Just… peace.

Morning Calm

Sunlight poured gently into Haneul High School, filling the classrooms with warmth.

Students laughed, talked, and complained about homework like nothing had ever happened.

Inside Class 2-A—

Lee Min-Joon stretched lazily.

"…I like this version of life, no monster no fight just peace. I was able to get a nice sleep yesterday night."

Kang Jae-Min sat by the window, unusually calm.

Kim Ara was quietly reading, though her eyes occasionally drifted toward Jae-Min.

Min-Joon noticed immediately.

He smirked.

"Oho I notice that…"

Ara didn't look up.

"What?"

Min-Joon leaned closer.

"You've been looking at him for like five minutes."

Ara closed her book slowly.

"I haven't."

Jae-Min blinked.

"…something wrong?"

Min-Joon grinned.

"Nothing man. Just romance in the air."

Ara kicked his chair.

"Focus on your life Min-joon."

Min-Joon laughed.

"My life is already focused."

Then he glanced toward the empty seat beside him.

"…It's just missing someone."

Right on cue—

The classroom door opened.

Seo Yuna walked in.

Calm. Quiet. Unbothered.

Min-Joon instantly sat up straight.

"She's here my future bride is here."

Ara sighed.

"You're hopeless."

Yuna walked to her seat and sat down beside him.

Min-Joon turned slowly.

"Good morning angel."

Yuna didn't look at him.

"Morning."

Min-Joon smiled like he just won something.

Classes went on as usual.

Teachers taught.

Students complained.

Min-Joon tried (and failed) to focus.

Instead, he kept sneaking glances at Yuna.

At one point—

He whispered,

"Do you ever smile?"

Yuna replied without looking at him, she just focus on something she's doing on her phone.

"Do you ever stay quiet?"

Ara almost laughed.

Jae-Min shook his head slightly.

When the final bell rang—

Min-Joon jumped up.

"Freedom!"

Ara packed her bag calmly.

Jae-Min stood up.

Yuna closed her book.

For a moment—

None of them said anything.

Then Min-Joon clapped his hands.

"Today is a peaceful day."

"No fighting."

"No enemies."

"So we're going out."

Ara raised an eyebrow.

"We?"

Min-Joon pointed at all of them.

"Yes. Team bonding."

Jae-Min shrugged.

"…I don't mind."

Ara hesitated… then nodded.

Yuna stood silently.

Min-Joon looked at her.

"You're coming too."

Yuna replied,

"I didn't agree to go."

Min-Joon smiled.

"You didn't refuse to go either."

She paused.

Then sighed.

"…Fine let go."

Min-Joon turned away and whispered,

"Yes!"They walked through the city like ordinary students.

No tension.

No danger.

Just normal life.

They stopped by a small street food stall.

Min-Joon ordered everything.

Ara stared at the amount of food.

"Are you feeding the whole school cuz I don't understand?"

Min-Joon replied,

"I'm feeding my future bride anything wrong with that."

Ara giggle...

"Noo , that's good."

Then she move closer to him and whisper something to him.....

"Don't forget she as not accept u, so don't get ur hope up."

Jae-Min smirked slightly.

Yuna quietly took a bite of her food.

Min-Joon watched her closely.

"…So how is it?"

Yuna paused.

"…It's good."

Min-Joon froze.

Then whispered,

"She said it's good that's a good sign....."

Ara rolled her eyes.

Later—

They walked near a quiet riverside.

The sunset painted the sky in soft orange.

Min-Joon and Yuna walked slightly ahead.

Leaving Jae-Min and Ara behind.

For once…

There was silence between them.

Not awkward.

Just… quiet.

Jae-Min finally spoke.

"You were stronger than I expected yesterday."

Ara looked at him.

"You too."

Another silence.

Then—

Jae-Min scratched his head slightly.

"…I was worried u know?."

Ara blinked.

"About what?"

He looked at her.

"…About you getting hurt."

Ara's expression softened slightly.

"…I'm not that weak."

"I know."

"But still…"

She looked away.

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

"…You worry too much jae-min."

Jae-Min smiled slightly.

"Maybe."

For a moment—

Everything felt normal.

Ahead—

Min-Joon suddenly stopped walking.

Yuna looked at him.

"What wrong?"

He turned to her, suddenly serious.

"Yuna…"

She raised an eyebrow.

"Yes?"

Min-Joon scratched his head awkwardly.

Then took a deep breath.

"…Do you want to go out with me?"

Then there was a Complete silence.

Even the wind seemed to stop.

Yuna stared at him.

Min-Joon panicked.

"I mean—not like permanently—just like—today—like a date—like food—like normal people—"

Yuna cut him off.

"…You talk too much u know?."

Min-Joon froze.

"…So is that a no?"

Yuna looked at him for a few seconds.

Then—

"…Fine, let see how things go."

Min-Joon blinked.

"…Wait."

"…That's a yes right?"

Yuna turned away slightly.

"…It's just a walk."

Min-Joon raised both hands.

"IT'S A DATE."

Ara shouted from behind,

"STOP SHOUTING!"

Jae-Min laughed quietly.

From a distant rooftop—

A figure watched them.

Silver hair moving in the wind.

Red eyes calm and observant.

Choi Hyun-Woo.

"The bond is forming…"

He crossed his arms.

"But they're still too weak."

"And I'm wondering why that vampire girl is getting close to jae-min, don't she knew that werewolf and vampire are enemy.

He turned away and face his beta.

"Find out everything about her...I mean every single details of her."

"I want to know why she approach him.

Then he left the rooftop with his beta.

Back by the riverside—

Four teenagers laughed, argued, and talked like normal students.

For a moment…

The war didn't exist.

The danger didn't matter.

They were just—

Teenagers.

But deep within the shadows of Seoul…

Something was still moving.

Watching.

Waiting.
