Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 4 - BEYOND THE SCHOOL

Chapter 4 – Secrets Beyond the School

The streets of Seoul were alive at night.

Neon lights from shops and cafés glowed brightly, people walked along the sidewalks, and the smell of street food filled the air. Most people saw it as just another normal night in the city.

But for three students from Haneul High, things had already become far from normal.

🐺 Jae-Min's Apartment

Jae-Min pushed open the door to his small apartment.

It wasn't luxurious like most homes in Seoul. Just a simple place with a couch, a small kitchen, and a window that overlooked the busy streets below.

He dropped his bag on the couch and sighed.

"First day at a new school… and I already fought a monster," he muttered.

He opened the fridge.

Inside there was barely anything except milk, noodles, and leftover fried chicken.

Jae-Min grabbed the chicken and sat on the couch.

His phone suddenly buzzed.

A message from Lee Min-Joon.

"Yo wolf boy, you alive?"

Jae-Min frowned.

"How did he even get my number?" he muttered.

Another message came instantly.

"Also… do werewolves eat normal food or just meat?"

Jae-Min typed back.

"Stop texting me."

Three seconds later another message came.

"Cool cool cool… so that means yes."

Jae-Min stared at the phone.

"…This guy is annoying."

But for the first time that day, he actually smiled a little.

🧛 Ara's Mansion

Across the city, far away from Jae-Min's small apartment, stood a massive old mansion hidden behind tall iron gates.

Inside the mansion, everything was quiet and elegant.

Kim Ara walked slowly through the long hallway.

A woman wearing a black uniform bowed slightly as Ara passed.

"Welcome home, Lady Ara."

Ara nodded.

Her voice was calm.

"Any problems today?"

"No, my lady."

Ara walked into a large room with tall windows that looked out over the city.

She stared at the moon.

Her mind replayed the fight earlier.

Jae-Min's golden eyes.

Min-Joon's flames.

She sighed softly.

"So the prophecy really might be starting…"

Just then, a small bat flew through the open window and landed on her shoulder.

Ara blinked.

"Oh… it's you again."

The bat squeaked.

Ara raised an eyebrow.

"You're lucky I'm not hungry."

The bat immediately flew away in panic.

Ara laughed quietly.

"Well… that was rude."

🔥 Min-Joon's Night Adventure

Meanwhile…

Lee Min-Joon was walking down a busy night street eating tteokbokki from a street stall.

"Ahh… spicy food is the best," he said happily.

The old street vendor looked at him.

"You come here every day, don't you?"

Min-Joon grinned.

"Good food deserves loyal customers."

Suddenly his phone rang.

It was Jae-Min.

Min-Joon answered instantly.

"Wow, wolf boy calling me first? I'm honored."

Jae-Min's voice sounded annoyed.

"How did you get my number?"

Min-Joon laughed.

"I asked the class group chat."

"…There's a class group chat?" Jae-Min said.

"Yeah. You should check it."

Jae-Min paused.

Then said seriously:

"You told them about tonight?"

Min-Joon immediately stopped laughing.

"No."

His tone changed slightly.

"I'm not stupid."

He looked up at the night sky.

"But whatever that monster was… it's still out there."

Jae-Min was silent for a moment.

Then he said:

"Meet me tomorrow."

Min-Joon smiled again.

"Planning a monster hunting club already?"

"…Just show up."

The call ended.

Min-Joon chuckled.

"This school year just became interesting."

Just then—

A group of three street thugs walked toward him.

"Hey kid," one of them said.

"You dropped something."

Min-Joon looked down.

"Where?"

"Your money."

Min-Joon blinked.

Then laughed.

"Oh."

He casually tossed his empty tteokbokki bowl into the trash.

"You guys picked the wrong person tonight."

The thugs cracked their knuckles.

"Oh really?"

Min-Joon sighed.

"Please don't make me burn my dinner calories."

A small flame appeared on his fingertip.

The thugs froze.

"W-WHAT THE—?!"

Min-Joon grinned.

"Good night."

Five seconds later the three thugs ran away screaming.

Min-Joon dusted his hands.

"Well… that was easy."

He checked his phone again.

"Tomorrow should be fun."

🌙 Somewhere in the City…

In a quiet library, a girl with glasses sat reading a thick ancient book.

Her name was Park Soo-Jin.

She suddenly paused.

Her eyes focused on a strange symbol inside the book.

Her expression turned serious.

"…Impossible."

She whispered quietly.

"The prophecy seal is breaking."

She closed the book slowly.

"Which means…"

Her eyes looked toward the window where the moonlight shined inside.

"…they've already started gathering."

🐺 On a Rooftop

On top of a tall building, a silver-haired boy stood under the moonlight.

Choi Hyun-Woo.

The Alpha Werewolf.

His sharp eyes looked toward the direction of Haneul High School.

He had felt the fight earlier.

He clenched his fist.

"A new wolf in my territory…"

His eyes glowed silver.

"I should meet him soon."

Meanwhile…

Completely unaware of the two people watching them from different parts of the city…

Three teenagers prepared for another day at Haneul High.

A werewolf.

A vampire.

And a fire user.

But tomorrow…

Their strange alliance would face its first real test.
