Chapter 15 - The Gu Family Meeting

The black luxury car moved smoothly through the evening streets of Jiang Cheng, passing rows of tall buildings and shining office towers that reflected the golden light of the setting sun, while inside the quiet vehicle, Gu Wen sat calmly in the back seat, his small figure leaning slightly against the leather seat as his eyes followed the city outside the window.

Jiang Cheng looked peaceful from a distance, but Gu Wen knew very well that beneath the bright lights and modern buildings, countless business struggles and power competitions were happening every single day, and the balance between the major families was far more fragile than most people imagined.

The system interface quietly appeared again in front of him.

[Perfect Life System Analysis]

[City: Jiang Cheng]

[Major Family Power Structure]

Gu Family: Economic Leader

Liu Family: Political and Financial Influence

Zhao Family: Strategic Expansion

[Alliance Status]

Gu Family + Liu Family: Stable

Zhao Family: Competitive Rival

[Risk Level: Medium]

[Future Conflict Probability: Rising]

Gu Wen's eyes moved slightly as he read the information.

So the system is beginning to reveal the larger structure.

That means the conflict is not limited to kindergarten or Zhao Yichen.

This is a long-term family-level confrontation.

The car slowly turned into a quiet private road, and after passing through a large security gate, it entered the Gu family estate.

The estate was enormous, with wide green gardens, tall trees, and a large modern mansion standing at the center, its white walls glowing softly under the evening lights, giving off a calm but powerful presence.

This was the home of the richest family in Jiang Cheng.

The Gu family.

The car stopped smoothly in front of the main entrance, and the driver stepped out quickly to open the door.

"Young Master, we have arrived."

Gu Wen stepped out calmly and walked toward the mansion entrance, his small footsteps steady and quiet, while the household staff respectfully greeted him.

"Welcome back, Young Master."

He nodded slightly and entered the house.

Inside, the mansion was quiet and elegant, with warm lighting and spacious halls that reflected both wealth and discipline, and as Gu Wen walked through the corridor, he could already hear voices coming from the study room on the second floor.

Serious voices.

Adult voices.

He slowed his steps slightly and quietly walked closer.

The study room door was slightly open.

Inside, two men were talking.

One of them was Gu Wen's father.

Gu Mingyuan.

He sat behind a large wooden desk, wearing a dark suit, his posture straight and steady, while his calm and sharp eyes focused on the documents in front of him.

He looked like a man who controlled everything with quiet authority.

Across from him sat another middle-aged man in formal clothes, holding a business file.

"The Zhao family has started expanding again," the man said seriously.

"They recently acquired two technology companies and are trying to enter the investment market."

Gu Mingyuan remained calm.

"That was expected," he said.

His voice was steady and deep, carrying natural authority.

"The Zhao family has always been aggressive."

The man nodded.

"But their recent actions are unusual. They are moving faster than before, and they are targeting areas connected to the Liu family's businesses."

Gu Mingyuan's eyes narrowed slightly.

"So they are trying to weaken the alliance indirectly."

"Yes."

The room became quiet for a moment.

Then the man continued.

"There is also information that Zhao Mingcheng is planning to form new partnerships with several external investors."

Gu Mingyuan leaned back slightly in his chair.

"That means he is preparing for a long-term confrontation."

The man hesitated before speaking again.

"There is another matter."

Gu Mingyuan looked at him.

"The Zhao family has been paying attention to the younger generation as well."

His voice became slightly lower.

"They are watching Young Master Gu Wen and Miss Liu Ruyan."

Gu Mingyuan's gaze slowly became colder.

"I see."

At that moment, Gu Wen gently pushed the door open and walked inside.

"Father."

The two men turned their heads in surprise.

Gu Mingyuan looked at his son and immediately softened his expression slightly.

"Wen'er, you're back."

Gu Wen nodded calmly and walked toward him.

"Yes."

The other man stood up respectfully and left the room, closing the door quietly behind him.

Now only father and son remained.

Gu Mingyuan looked at Gu Wen carefully.

"How was kindergarten today?"

Gu Wen answered calmly.

"Normal."

Gu Mingyuan smiled slightly.

"Did you make new friends?"

"Yes."

Gu Wen paused for a moment before speaking again.

"There is a new student named Zhao Yichen."

The moment he heard that name, Gu Mingyuan's expression changed slightly.

"You met him?"

"Yes."

Gu Mingyuan remained silent for a few seconds before asking.

"What do you think of him?"

Gu Wen answered calmly.

"He is not simple."

Gu Mingyuan's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Why?"

Gu Wen spoke slowly and clearly.

"He observes people carefully."

"He speaks cautiously."

"He creates misunderstandings quietly."

"He hides his intentions well."

The room became silent.

Gu Mingyuan looked at his son with slight surprise.

Most children would say someone is nice or mean.

But Gu Wen analyzed behavior.

Like an adult.

"Did he do anything to you or Liu Ruyan?" Gu Mingyuan asked.

Gu Wen nodded slightly.

"He tried to create a misunderstanding today."

Gu Mingyuan's expression became cold.

"I understand."

He stood up slowly and walked toward the window.

"The Zhao family has started early," he said quietly.

Gu Wen looked at his father calmly.

"Father," he asked, "is the Zhao family our enemy?"

Gu Mingyuan remained silent for a moment before answering.

"They are not enemies yet."

"But they are competitors."

"In Jiang Cheng, competitors can become enemies at any time."

Gu Wen nodded slightly.

"I understand."

Gu Mingyuan turned and looked at him.

"You do not need to worry about these things," he said gently.

"You are still young."

Gu Wen shook his head slightly.

"If I understand early, I can prepare early."

Gu Mingyuan looked at his son for a few seconds.

Then a faint smile appeared.

"You really are different from other children."

He walked closer and gently placed his hand on Gu Wen's shoulder.

"But remember one thing."

"Strength is not only money or power."

"It is also influence, trust, and relationships."

Gu Wen's eyes moved slightly.

That matched the system mission perfectly.

At that moment, the system notification appeared again.

Gu Wen nodded.

"Yes, Father."

The evening light slowly faded outside the window, and inside the quiet study, both father and son stood calmly, looking toward the distant city of Jiang Cheng.

The future battle between families was slowly approaching.

And the young master of the Gu family was already taking his first steps into that world.
