Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: beast

The chaotic roar of the battlefield didn't diminish; it amplified, transforming into a cacophony of clashing steel, detonating energy signatures, and the relentless, crushing footsteps of millions of combatants. Amidst the swirling tempest of dust and blood on the moving planet, a massive clearing had been violently forged. At the center of this localized devastation, 2nd Division Captain Liora was tearing through Malkor's men.

Liora moved like a blur of absolute, lethal efficiency. A platoon of armored soldiers charged her from the left, their jagged spears thrusting forward in a unified execution line. Without a single wasted motion, Liora's reaction time spiked to a supernatural degree. She slipped beneath the primary thrusts, her hand snapping outward to catch the shaft of the lead spear. With a fluid, brutal twist, she shattered the weapon, drove her palm into the soldier's chest plate, and sent him crashing backward with enough force to shatter the line behind him.

She vaulted into the air, spinning with a heavy, downward heel drop that cracked the bedrock, unleashing a shockwave that threw dozens of enemy troops into the air. Every strike she delivered carried a terrifying weight, her movements fluid and unpredictable, adapting to any angle of attack instantly. Malkor's front line was buckling wherever she stood, her aura radiating a fierce, primal dominance that forced the advancing soldiers to hesitate.

But the momentum of the enemy army wasn't completely halted. On the opposite side of the clearing, someone was tearing through the Xenocides.

A high-ranking elite, a woman known across the outer systems as the Beastress, was carving a devastating path through the xenocides units.

She moved with a frightening, erratic speed that left afterimages in the dust. She had a tail and ears like cats, her sleek, dark combat gear shifting seamlessly as she sprinted on all fours before leaping into the fray. She was fast—so fast that the xenocides couldn't even attack before a flash of silver claws tore through their armor, sending them skittering across the battle field.

The Beastress whirled, her cat-like ears twitching as she caught the distinct sound of bones shattering from across the field. She dropped a defeated soldier, her tail snapping sharply through the air as she rose to her full height.

Through the haze of smoke and falling debris, her and Liora's eyes locked.

Liora stopped, her breath calm as she casually wiped a splatter of blood from her cheek.

She looked at the trail of defeated Xenocides behind the creature, her sharp eyes taking in the terrifying speed and athletic build of the elite. Instead of stepping back, Liora smiled, a fierce, hungry glint entering her eyes.

"Looks like you are strong," Liora said, her voice carrying a calm, dangerous confidence that cut through the surrounding noise.

The Beastress smiled back, her lips pulling away to reveal sharp, predatory fangs as her tail flicked with intense excitement. "Of course. But I hope you are. I've been waiting for someone who is worth my time, someone I can fight with to the death."

Liora's smile widened, her posture dropping into a loose, low-centered combat stance.

"Let's skip the talk and get straight to the fight," Liora said.

The ground beneath them didn't just crack—it imploded.

The Beastress exploded forward, completely vanishing from sight as her sheer physical speed shattered the sound barrier, leaving a ringed sonic boom in her wake. She appeared directly in Liora's blind spot, her hand contorted into a rigid, claw-like strike aimed cleanly at the side of Liora's neck. The speed was absolute, the execution of a perfect predator.

But Liora didn't turn around to block. Instantly, her sensory perception spiked, reading the air displacement and the micro-vibrations of the soil. Pivoting on her left heel with a microscopic, fluid movement, Liora allowed the claw strike to graze the hair on the back of her head. In the exact same motion, Liora drove a savage, blind back-elbow strike directly toward the Beastress's ribs.

BANG!

The Beastress caught the elbow with her open palm, the sheer force of the impact sending a massive shockwave traveling through both of their bodies and blowing the dust away from their boots. The elite didn't flinch; her physical durability and raw power were immense. Utilizing the momentum of the block, the Beastress launched her lower body upward, her tail wrapping around Liora's outstretched arm like a whip while she brought both of her legs down in a crushing, dual-knee strike aimed at Liora's face.

Liora raised her free forearm, catching the impact. The force drove her boots three inches deep into the planetary crust, but her frame didn't buckle. With a fierce roar, Liora flexed her pinned arm, using absolute, raw leverage to rip her limb free from the tail's grip, violently pulling the Beastress out of the air and slamming her down toward the hard stone.

The Beastress flipped gracefully mid-air, her cat-like instincts allowing her to plant her hands on the ground, absorb the impact, and immediately spring backward. She landed on all fours, her eyes wide with a maniacal, thrilled energy.

"Incredible!" the Beastress laughed, her ears pinning back as she lunged again, this time executing a rapid-fire sequence of tearing claw strikes.

The air between them turned into a solid wall of flashes and metallic impacts. Liora met the assault head-on, her hands moving in a blur of precise, heavy deflections. Left palm parry, right forearm block, a sudden tilt of the head to avoid a lethal gouge to the eyes—Liora danced through the storm of claws with zero fear. Every time the Beastress's claws scraped against Liora's skin, sparks flew as if steel were grinding against steel.

Finding a micro-second gap in the Beastress's frantic rhythm, Liora stepped inside the guard, plunging her shoulder directly into the elite's sternum. The heavy tackle forced the Beastress to gasp, her balance momentarily faltering.

Liora didn't waste the opening. She loaded a massive right hook, her muscles tensing as she unleashed a punch using the power of a mantris shrimp.

The fist connected flush with the Beastress's jaw.

CRACK!

The Beastress rocketed sideways, her body skittering across the rocky terrain for dozens of meters, smashing through a massive boulder before finally stabilizing her footing. She wiped a line of blood from her lip, her smile stretching even wider across her face, completely unhinged by the pain.

"My turn," the Beastress whispered, her presence expanding as she unleashed the absolute fullness of her physical capabilities. She was an absolute beast, and her physical stats spiked beyond the limits of biological comprehension.

She shifted into a sprint, but this time, her trajectory wasn't a straight line. She moved in a jagged, lightning-fast zig-zag pattern, bouncing off the surrounding military wreckage and rock formations so fast that she looked like a dozens of simultaneous shadows closing in on Liora from every single angle.

Liora closed her eyes for a split second, using the power of a bat.

A shadow materialized directly above her. The Beastress dropped down like a falling anvil, both of her hands locked together in a hammer-fist strike. Liora crossed her forearms to block, but the raw physical power behind the elite's drop was massive. The ground beneath Liora completely collapsed, forming a ten-meter-wide crater that trapped her legs.

Before Liora could extricate herself, the Beastress landed and immediately drove a brutal, high-speed knee strike straight into Liora's abdomen. The wind left Liora's lungs with a heavy thud, her body lifting out of the crater from the sheer upward force.

The Beastress followed up instantly, spinning on her heel to deliver a whipping tail strike that caught Liora across the shoulder, sending her flying into the side of a disabled Xenocides transport ship.

The metal hull caved inward with a deafening screech as Liora slammed into it.

The Beastress didn't give her a moment to breathe. She was already in the air, trailing her fingers along the ground to kick up a screen of blinding dust as she dove toward the transport ship to finish the fight, her claws extended to tear Liora's throat out.

But as the dust cleared, Liora was already standing. Her eyes were burning with a fierce, untamed fire. as she stepped forward from the ruined metal hull.

As the Beastress descended, Liora didn't dodge. She reached out with both hands, ignoring the sharp claws that dug into her shoulders, and grabbed Beastress by her wrists, completely halting her velocity mid-air. The sudden, violent deceleration caused the metal plating beneath their feet to buckle and warp.

Beastress gasped, her remaining arm trying to free herself, but Liora's grip was an absolute vice.

"You're fast," Liora growled, a fierce, dominant grin breaking across her face as she looked directly into the elite's panicked eyes. "But you're in my range now."

Using the strength of an armoured beetle Liora hoisted the Beastress over her head and slammed her violently down onto the metal deck of the transport ship. The ship's frame fractured under the immense weight of the impact, a massive groan of tearing steel echoing across the clearing.

The Beastress coughed up a spray of blood, but as she laid on the ruined deck, her fingers twitched, her cat ears flattening as she prepared to drag both of them into the next, even more brutal phase of their duel to the death. The two absolute powerhouses stood at the precipice of absolute destruction, neither one willing to take a single step back.
