Chapter 288 - The War Concludes, Peter's Space Expansion Plan

Having dealt with Supergiant, Peter casually flicked his wrist, tossing her corpse aside like a bag of trash.

Completing the task with zero effort, he turned to the surrounding superheroes and flashed a bright smile:

"Ready, guys?"

"Aye-aye, Captain~!" Harry piped up with a goofy, theatrical response. The surrounding heroes instinctively took several steps away from him, clearly feeling this wealthy young heir was suffering from a mild case of mental deficiency.

Peter winked at him, then raised his left arm, softly dialing the selector on the watch dial. The face spun rapidly before coming to a halt on the silhouette representing Susan Storm—Invisible Woman.

"Next up... it's time to blow the horn for our ultimate counter-offensive!"

A subtle glimmer of light swept across the battlefield. Bypassing the full transformation sequence entirely, Peter simply snapped his fingers with casual grace.

Snap!

The crisp echo resonated across the Manhattan skyline.

In the very next second, a nearly invisible, translucent force field illuminated across the skin of every single superhero currently locked in battle.

It was the ultimate defense constructed entirely from Invisible Woman's raw telekinetic power!

Having previously experienced the battle in Hell's Kitchen, the veteran superheroes were intimately familiar with this absolute energy shield.

"YA-HOO~!" Harry couldn't help but flex arrogantly. "You disgusting aliens, prepare to die! My personal cheat code has officially arrived!"

As he yelled, the kid abandoned his hover-glider and pumpkin bombs altogether, throwing his arms wide open in absolute taunts straight in front of a squad of Chitauri soldiers wielding heavy plasma rifles.

Seeing his insane bravado, the Chitauri soldiers pulled their triggers frantically.

Yet, as the high-thermal energy beams impacted the barrier, they failed to generate even a single ripple, their entire kinetic and thermal energy absorbed completely by the borderline-bugged force field!

Harry casually strolled up to the lead Chitauri soldier, bringing his palms together in a brutal double-ear slap that instantly flattened the alien's skull like a pancake. He bellowed in supreme delight:

"WOOHOO~ THIS IS SO SICK!"

After shouting, he turned to the surrounding heroes: "What are you all standing around for?! ALL-OUT ASSAULT!"

"Wait any longer, and the free trial pass is gonna expire!"

Red Guardian—who was every bit as chaotic as Harry—was the very first to react. Letting out a booming "URAA!", he emulated Harry's strategy, diving headlong into the Chitauri horde to activate full Dynasty Warriors-style lawn-mowing mode.

Seeing this, the remaining superheroes naturally refused to be left behind, initiating their own relentless counter-offensives.

Safeguarded by the absolute telekinetic shields, they completely abandoned all defensive maneuvers, focusing 100% of their output on lethal, one-shot strikes.

Conversely, out of the remaining three Chitauri motherships, one had been completely drained of its ground forces.

The other two, having lost their primary commanders—Supergiant and Dwarf—degenerated into mindless AI bots executing basic, reckless charges. They had officially transformed into massive experience packs for the heroes to farm.

Over the next ten-plus minutes, the superheroes fought with absolute fury and unyielding momentum, slaughtering every single Chitauri soldier until not a single alien was left breathing!

Finally, as the last Chitauri infantryman crashed to the asphalt, the war officially came to an end. Peter effortlessly neutralized the neural centers of the three remaining Leviathan cruisers, rendering them completely paralyzed in mid-air.

Down inside the subterranean safe houses, a breathless silence hung in the air for three whole seconds.

Immediately following, an earth-shattering wave of cheers erupted, nearly blowing the heavy concrete ceilings clean off the facilities! People hugged each other tightly, screaming The Arbiter's name until their throats were completely hoarse.

Personality cult worship hit its absolute historical zenith at this exact moment!

Some citizens even began proposing the immediate conversion of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. into The Arbiter Memorial, advocating for the direct replacement of the massive 5.8-meter statue of Abraham Lincoln with a monumental likeness of The Arbiter.

Meanwhile, far away on Titan...

Thanos stared intently at the holographic display before him. Within his deep pupils, there was zero trace of anger or frustration—only a burning, eager desire for battle.

How many years had it been? How many years since he last encountered a warrior of this caliber?

Snapping Uru alloy with his bare hands, instantly brain-frying Supergiant with a single glance... In terms of raw combat capability, such a specimen was a rare gem across the entire universe!

"Sire... shall we dispatch the primary fleet?" Ebony Maw asked tremulously from the side, deathly afraid of touching a nerve.

Faced with the suggestion, Thanos merely offered a casual wave of his hand: "It is not yet time."

Though battle-hungry, he was no mindless war maniac. He understood with crystal clarity that behind that blue planet stood not only this mysterious Arbiter, but Odin himself guarding the realm from the shadows—an entity whose power even Thanos held deep respect for.

Launching an all-out planetary invasion right now was far too costly and impractical. The priority remained locating the rest of the Infinity Stones.

Thanos's gaze grew deep and distant as he quietly finalized his strategic plan.

Once he assembled the Stones... he would return to have a proper, entertaining play session with this intriguing Earthling.

After the conflict wrapped up, Peter wasn't idling around.

He strolled casually down the ruined, debris-strewn avenues of Manhattan. Wherever his steps led, the soothing white light of the Horse Talisman expanded outward like ripples across water.

Wherever the light touched, collapsed skyscrapers reversed time like a film played in rewind, rising straight back into the skyline. Shattered glass restored itself to pristine perfection, and cracked asphalt fused smoothly back together.

In just a few short minutes, several of the most economically valuable commercial districts were restored entirely to their original glory.

This signature "resurrection" miracle—no matter how many times they witnessed it—never failed to leave the S.H.I.E.L.D. logistics agents tasked with calculating property damages completely gobsmacked.

Having restored a few primary commercial sectors to guarantee basic supply chain operations, Peter began auditing his personal battle spoils.

He walked over to Supergiant's corpse. Reaching down to search her frame, he suddenly drove his fist clean through her chest, extracting a glowing, crystal-like energy core.

Next was a fully intact Chitauri Leviathan Cruiser:

[Detected Sacrificable Purple Item: Paralyzed Chitauri Leviathan Cruiser][Sacrifice Yield: 20,000 Points]

In the blink of an eye, a massive 30,000 points of sacrifice value were credited to his balance.

As for Dwarf's grand battle-axe that he had snapped earlier, Peter hesitated briefly and chose not to sacrifice it

. Because the weapon had been manually crushed by his fingers, the system evaluated it as structurally compromised beyond repair, offering a ridiculously low price of around 7,000 points.

Rather than giving the greedy system a cheap deal, Peter figured he might as well melt the broken fragments down himself to extract the raw Uru alloy.

Combined with the Uru metal and World Tree branches Odin had gifted him earlier, he could forge a divine artifact customized exclusively for himself!

After finishing the sacrifice process, Peter selected the most pristine Chitauri cruiser remaining and instructed Wheel of Fortune to possess it directly.

The moment his Stand took command of the gargantuan alien beast, it adaptively modified and overhauled the vessel into Peter's personalized interstellar flagship.

With that, Peter officially possessed his very own starship!

Looking at the Chitauri cruiser—whose grotesque organic features were rapidly stripping away in favor of a sleek, high-tech sci-fi aesthetic—Peter couldn't help but rub his chin in deep thought.

Now that he had a fully functioning cosmic vessel ready to roll...

Wasn't it about time he started exploring a brand-new space campaign?
