"Don't get too full of yourselves!"
Over the team comms channel, Sif let out a cold snort.
Snapping her twin blades together into a massive greatsword, she leaped down from the crown of the Statue of Liberty.
The moment her boots hit the ground, she unleashed a full-power crescent of sword aura across the battlefield, bisecting an entire Leviathan clean in half with a single stroke!
Natasha's devastating area-of-effect display hadn't just fired up Sif.
Hulk and Aleksei were practically seeing red with pure, unadulterated adrenaline!
"Watch this!"
Aleksei let out a booming, guttural roar before breaking into a dead sprint, charging head-on toward another incoming Leviathan.
He didn't possess Sif's refined martial technique, nor did he wield a legendary Asgardian divine blade.
What he had was absurd, overwhelming brute force!
Empowered by the Radiation symbiote, Aleksei leaped straight onto the Leviathan's armored spine. Zero technique—just raw, savage violence.
Plunging his thick fingers straight through the creature's outer carapace, he ripped into it like a man shredding a roast chicken with his bare hands, tearing off massive chunks of biomechanical flesh and composite armor plating.
Though Leviathans were heavily cybernetically modified cyborg behemoths driven entirely by the Chitauri mothership's hive mind, that didn't mean their nervous systems were numb to pain.
Faced with such barbaric brutality, even these terrifying galactic war-beasts—which had struck terror into countless alien civilizations—couldn't help but shriek in agonizing distress.
Thrashing wildly through the air, the Chitauri infantry riding atop its back frantically raised their energy rifles, unleashing a concentrated barrage of plasma straight at Aleksei.
Yet Aleksei didn't bother dodging a single shot. The Radiation symbiote coating his frame absorbed and deflected the incoming volley with ease.
All Aleksei had to do was focus purely on ripping the Leviathan to shreds!
Moments later, an entire segment of the beast's spinal column, tangled with severed cybernetic wiring and hydraulic conduits, was yanked out raw by Aleksei's bare hands.
With a thunderous crash, the Leviathan plummeted out of the sky, slamming into the concrete with its former majesty shattered into scrap.
Seeing Aleksei score a massive kill, the Hulk in the distance immediately grew competitive.
With a furious roar, the Green Goliath charged down the end of the boulevard, plowing straight through a Chitauri vanguard formation. Alien foot-soldiers and an expensive multi-story office building were sent flying in every direction like pins in a bowling alley.
"ROAAR~!"
Having vented his pent-up rage, Hulk let out a hearty, booming laugh:
"No... bugs, not welcome! Hulk... SMASH HAPPY!"
Watching Hulk and Aleksei have the time of their lives, Peter felt a mischievous urge well up inside him. He keyed his comms and suggested:
"Hulk, Aleksei, listen to me. Here's what you do: you go like this, then do that..."
Aleksei had already long decided that Peter was a righteous brother, so he agreed without a second thought.
As for the Hulk—partly due to lingering trauma from being thoroughly disciplined by Peter in the past, and partly because the plan sounded genuinely fun—he hesitated for half a second before nodding his massive green head!
Seeing both colossal powerhouses onboard with his plan, Peter felt that watching the show alone was a bit of a waste. Tapping the Vibranium housing at his chest, the black-and-gold Arbiter armor materialized seamlessly over his frame.
Having swapped to his primary persona, he spoke up:
"Freddy, initiate the livestream feed to all underground shelters! This is on-site reporter Yu Wen—wait, no, your field reporter, the Arbiter, going live on air!"
Inside the underground bunkers and safety shelters—
The atmosphere was growing distinctly tense.
Even though Peter and Tony had engineered top-of-the-line ventilation systems, and George Stacy had stockpiled generous emergency rations across every bunker, cramming hundreds of thousands of people into a shared subterranean space was bound to breed claustrophobia and friction.
Add to that the strict food rationing and the knowledge that alien invaders were actively razing their homes above, and everyone's nerves were stretched to the breaking point.
In particular, the entitled corporate elites—furious at the indignity of sharing space with the "commoners" they usually exploited and being forced to eat the exact same emergency rations—grew increasingly restless.
Several tried stirring up trouble to assert their perceived superiority.
Though any disruptive behavior was swiftly put down by armed forces led by the Black Rose and Shadow Fist enforcers, the tension inside the shelters remained a powder keg waiting for a spark.
Just as George and Norman Osborn were wracking their brains over how to defuse the simmering unrest—
A synchronized projection feed flared across the central walls of every shelter in New York.
Standing on the rooftop of the SHIELD installation in his full combat suit, the Arbiter appeared directly before the eyes of the masses.
"Look! It's the Arbiter!"
"What is he doing up there?"
"Fuck! My commercial tower is getting blown to pieces by those damn aliens, and that Arbiter guy is just standing there watching?! OW! Shit, who hit me?! Show yourself, you coward!"
"I hit you, so what?! The superheroes are putting their lives on the line to save the world! What right do you have to slander Lord Arbiter?!"
"Exactly! Where are the police?! Where's the guard?! Throw this scumbag out for disrespecting Lord Arbiter!"
"Trash like him doesn't deserve shelter! Throw him to the aliens outside and see if he keeps running his mouth!"
"Why waste time talking? Beat his ass, boys!"
While the shelters devolved into chaotic brawling, Peter's calm, measured voice resonated through the speakers right on cue:
"Ladies and gentlemen, since my grand entrance isn't scheduled quite yet, I've decided to treat you all to some entertaining footage!"
With a flick of his wrist, Peter swapped the broadcast feed to his rear-mounted tactical camera, panning down toward the warzone below.
Gasp~
Seeing the colossal, bio-mechanical Leviathans tearing down avenues with reckless abandon, their massive tails collapsing entire skyscrapers with a single sweep, a collective intake of cold air echoed through every shelter.
The extraterrestrial invaders were terrifying beyond imagination!
Who could possibly stand against monsters of this magnitude?!
Just as everyone's hearts leaped into their throats, two thunderous war-cries erupted through the audio feed!
Those with sharp eyesight immediately caught sight of two massive juggernauts—one crimson-armored, one emerald-green—charging full tilt toward an active Leviathan from opposite ends of the boulevard.
"That's..."
Inside the Brooklyn shelter, citizens who had witnessed past super-brawls gasped aloud:
"The Incredible Hulk and the Radioactive Rhino!"
"Oh god, don't tell me they're picking a fight with each other now?!"
Panicked exclamations rippled through shelters across New York.
Several frightened children buried their faces in their parents' coats, terrified of the impending slaughter.
Yet before the eyes of millions across New York, Hulk and Aleksei accelerated through a storm of plasma fire, moving faster and faster.
At the final synchronized beat, both colossi raised their massive, tree-trunk-sized arms, closing in on the Leviathan from left and right!
SQUELCH! SQUELCH!
Two dull impacts echoed as biological armor tore open like wet paper.
Both titans vaulted into the sky, tearing through the Leviathan's armored flanks, bursting through its skull from opposite trajectories.
CRACK-BOOM!
In mid-air, their massive forearms slammed together with bone-shattering force.
Muscle grinding against muscle produced a thunderous shockwave.
And then, before the dropped jaws of the entire city, the Leviathan's armored skull exploded outward in a shower of dark-green viscera and hydraulic fluid!
The carcass crashed onto the asphalt, gouging a massive, smoking trench down the avenue.
This move right here—was nothing less than the Marvel edition of the Double Lariat!
