T'Chaka had no interest in territorial expansion. However, he remained wary that some powerhouse countries might deploy their armies the moment they caught wind of Wakanda's vast resources.
Thus, the old King had resolved to win over Peter. He saw a man with terrifying strength, yet one who was free-spirited and lacked political ambition—a perfect ally. Using Vibranium to buy his goodwill was only the first step.
If possible, T'Chaka wanted to support Peter's influence within the United States. By using Wakanda's wealth and technology to bolster Peter's status, T'Chaka ensured that the higher his ally's standing, the safer Wakanda would be.
As the banquet concluded, T'Chaka acted as though he were quite drunk. He allowed Queen Ramonda and the future crown princess, Nakia, to help him and T'Challa back to their quarters, but not before casually arranging the next phase:
"Shuri, take Lord Adjudicator to see our technology. Perhaps you can explain the various applications of Vibranium to him."
Before Peter could even react, Shuri patted her flat chest and promised she would take excellent care of the guest.
Shuri was a genius scientist in her own right. She spoke fluently about technology that was nearly a century ahead of the rest of the world, having developed numerous inventions on her own.
"Mr. Arbiter, your previous katana... while it contained Vibranium, it had too many impurities and an unstable structure.
It couldn't handle your true power!" Shuri said, handing him a holographic projector. "If you don't mind, I can forge you a new blade of pure Vibranium!"
Peter didn't stand on ceremony. He designed a Tang Hengdao—a straight-bladed sword with a sleek, minimalist profile. It was a classic piece of romanticism.
With the aid of AI and high-tech fabrication, the sword was finished in under an hour. Peter gave it a few practice swings; the balance and grip were perfect.
As for its utility? He tapped it against the Silver Samurai's old blade. Without Peter even applying force, the old katana snapped like a dry twig.
"A fine blade!" Peter remarked.
Shuri beamed as if he had complimented her personally. She eagerly offered to design him a new suit of armor, but Peter politely declined.
While he respected her skill, he still trusted Tony Stark more when it came to cramming technology into a flight suit.
Shuri was about to suggest another "fun" activity when Peter's phone rang. It was Gwen.
"Hey, Gwen, what's up?"
"Peter! It's terrible!" Gwen's voice was frantic. "Felicia... she's missing!"
"What?!" Peter furious. He had only been in Wakanda for a few hours. How could Felicia vanish in that short window?
"I went to talk to her about university recommendation letters, but she didn't answer her phone. When I went to her house, the place was a mess—there were signs of a struggle everywhere..."
As Gwen explained the details, Peter immediately checked his system interface. He let out a long sigh of relief.
In his [Stand Tall / Mercy] status bar, Felicia's name was still lit. The status dot next to her icon was a healthy green. This meant she wasn't injured.
However, his brow furrowed. If she wasn't hurt, what was the "mess" at her house? How could Felicia be "kidnapped" without suffering a scratch? The mystery deepened, and he instinctively guessed that Felicia might have been targeted because of her association with him.
"Gwen, don't panic. I'm going to find her right now. Wait for me at home!"
Peter hung up, his expression so grim that Shuri shrank back slightly. "Mr. Arbiter, what happened?"
"A friend is in trouble. I have to go back immediately."
"Oh?" Shuri looked disappointed but understood the gravity of the situation. "I'll arrange a Talon Fighter to take you back to America."
"No need for the trouble." Peter smiled faintly, snapped his fingers to summon his flight board, and hoisted a literal ton of Vibranium onto his shoulder.
While a ton sounds massive, Vibranium's density meant it was only about the size of a large microwave.
Stepping onto the board, Peter activated [Stand Tall], a purple teleportation light enveloping him. "Tell your father and brother thanks for the hospitality. I owe them one. We'll meet again."
With a flash, Peter vanished, leaving only a few fading spatial runes on the floor.
"Wow," Shuri whispered, her mouth shaped like an 'O.' "He really is Amazing~!"
