The moment Felicia began to sing, the entire battlefield fell into a pocket of surreal silence. Electro and Sandman stared blankly at the scene, their minds unable to process a sight that discarded every known law of physics.
As the two villains stood frozen, the song reached its stride. Felicia had chosen "Empire State of Mind."
With the swelling melody, the water converging toward her began to spiral, rise, and stretch, finally manifesting as two translucent silken ribbons of liquid dancing gracefully at her sides.
There was no backing track, no reverb—just a pure, acappella performance that, amplified by the Emerald Dragon Scale, carried a terrifying, primordial weight.
Gwen looked down at her hands in astonishment. What kind of power-up is this?!
As the song vibrated through the air, Gwen felt her body become preternaturally light. Not only had her speed increased, but even her raw strength felt bolstered by a steady, rhythmic hum.
On the opposite side, the experience for the villains was pure agony.
"Ungh..." Sandman let out a muffled groan of pain. The song felt like thousands of fine needles piercing his brain. He discovered that his control over the sand was becoming sluggish.
The grains that usually obeyed his every thought now felt like rebellious children, requiring twice the mental effort just to keep his physical form from collapsing.
Electro's situation was even worse. Because the darkness in his heart was purer and more obsessive than William's, the "Anti-Evil" properties of the Dragon Scale lashed out at him with devastating force.
Every note Felicia sang felt like someone dragging jagged nails across a chalkboard inches from his ear. It was a sensory assault designed to drive him mad.
"Shut up! Shut up!!" Max screamed, clutching his ears, but it was useless. The melody bypassed his hands, flooding his mind and making it impossible to focus enough to even aim a bolt of electricity.
But the most incredible part was yet to come. As Felicia reached the chorus, even the surrounding residents were stirred by the courage in her voice.
Citizens who had been trembling in their apartments, praying the battle wouldn't demolish their homes, began to peek out of their windows.
Seeing Felicia singing amidst the swirling tides, a collective realization dawned on them.
"Who is she?" "A new superhero?" "Maybe... maybe we should help her. Her, Ghost-Spider, and The Arbiter!"
In the midst of the whispers, a small act of defiance broke the dam. A child on the third floor, trembling but determined, carried a basin of water to the window and heaved it out.
The water didn't fall to the street; it curved in mid-air, like a bird returning to its nest, merging into the silken ribbons around Felicia.
That single act flipped a switch. A second household, a third, a fourth... People began turning on their faucets, watching as the water defied gravity to join the song.
7th Avenue became the stage for a miracle. Thousands of gallons of water converged, the two ribbons thickening into roaring, serpentine torrents.
With a triumphant wave of Felicia's hand, the two water dragons lunged toward the suffering villains.
"No!"
Seeing the crashing waves, Sandman tried to turn and flee, but his heavy, lumbering form was no match for the speed of a rushing tide.
The water slammed into him, systematically washing away the sand bonded to his consciousness. He struggled and roared, trying to reform, but each time he solidified, a new surge of water tore him apart.
Under the relentless pressure, the giant grew smaller and thinner until only a pile of glittering gold sand remained—William Baker's core.
The water dragon didn't wash him into the sewers; instead, it shifted shape, forming a massive, rotating water sphere that kept the sand core imprisoned and neutralized.
On the other side, Electro's scalp crawled with dread. He forced his internal energy to the limit, turning into a bolt of blue lightning and streaking away from Manhattan.
Faster! Just get out of here! Once I'm away from that singing girl, I can come back!
As he fled, the panic on his face began to recede. The plan is working! The water dragon is impressive, but it can't keep up with my speed!
"No one can stop me! I'll be ba—"
Just as he was about to drop a parting threat to maintain his "supervillain" dignity...
VROOOOM!
A beam of electronic pulse energy, thick as a man's arm, shot out from the flank, intercepting his path with pinpoint accuracy. It was Peter's Glider! Or rather, the Wheel of Fortune—and it had a mind of its own.
Normally, such an attack would only charge Electro up. But now, as the pulse hit him, it acted as a bridge.
The Glider dove straight through the water dragon, and the resulting circuit between the water, the Glider, and Electro's body caused an instantaneous, catastrophic short-circuit.
KRA-KOOOOM!
Blinding sparks erupted in a violent chain reaction.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
A scream, so shrill it didn't sound human, tore through the night. Electro's body began to solidify in mid-air, twisting and twitching.
As the water funneled his entire electrical reserve into the earth like a massive lightning rod, his charred, smoking body was revealed.
Peter didn't hesitate as the villain plummeted toward the ground.
Soru!
His figure flickered, reappearing instantly in front of the falling Max. He extended a leg, pinning Electro to the asphalt the moment he landed.
Looking down at the bloodshot eyes of the villain who was still trying to grasp at a spark of life, Peter let a cruel smile spread beneath his mask.
He leaned down, assuming the stance that had terrified Electro earlier. Max's eyes went wide.
"No, wait! I surrender! I yield! I—"
Peter didn't wait for him to finish. He issued the final sentence in a cold, low voice:
"Six Paths Secret Technique: Rokuogan... The King's Greatest Ring!
BOOM!
Thirty tons of pure kinetic force exploded outward in a focused shockwave. Under the terrifying impact, Electro's physical form—and the very asphalt of 7th Avenue—disintegrated.
A massive crater, over a hundred meters wide and several meters deep, suddenly appeared in the middle of the street. At the bottom, only Peter stood alone.
As for Electro?
Well... Electro was everywhere.
