I drive home through the quiet streets, the mana engine humming smoothly beneath me. Roku and Lola both promised they would come over later tonight. A small smile plays on my lips as I think about it.
When I pull into the courtyard, the house feels strangely quiet. Usually, I would hear faint voices or movement from inside, but tonight everything is still. I don't pay it much attention. Instead, I head straight to the back of the property where I built a small stable for my horse.
I named him Rudy.
The moment I approach the stable, Rudy lets out a loud, energetic neigh. He has grown visibly taller and much more muscular since the guild delivered him. His coat shines with a healthy gloss, and his eyes burn with a fiery, almost intelligent intensity. He stomps his powerful hooves into the ground excitedly as I get closer.
I chuckle and reach out. Rudy immediately leans forward and licks my entire face with his big, warm tongue, leaving a trail of slobber.
