Chapter 81 - Fire Control True Inheritance

Not long after, another Flame Path inheritance that caught his attention appeared—the Fire Control True Inheritance. Its introduction was brief, but it clearly explained methods to control various rare and unusual Otherworldly Flames.

Lin Yan's interest was immediately stirred. Fire control had always been a weakness of the Huang Family. The three killer moves within this inheritance could use Otherworldly Flames with very low consumption and high efficiency.

For example, the Flame Demon True Body could only use one Otherworldly Flame Gu to store special flames inside the fire aperture, forming a variation. Once activated, it would transform into a Mystic Yellow Flame Demon True Body, which had strong suppression against Earth Path Gu Masters.

If Lin Yan were to face Shen Kuang right now, with the Mystic Yellow Earth Fire Gu in hand, then even if Earth Fireball Gu filled the field and exploded, it would not be able to harm him at all.

However, this was still far from enough to bring out the true strength of Otherworldly Flame Gu. The Flame Demon True Body could only merge one type of Otherworldly Flame at a time, and switching between different flames was extremely troublesome.

The same limitation existed for the Prairie Fire variation. It could also only hold a single Otherworldly Flame Gu. Because of this, the Huang Family's experts never pursued large numbers of flames. Usually, having two or three was enough to handle most situations while keeping feeding pressure manageable.

But the Fire Control True Inheritance being auctioned now seemed to offer a way to break this limitation.

Lin Yan had long held an idea in his mind—to complete Borrow Fire Gu, allowing it to fully integrate multiple Flame Path Gu and form far more powerful killer moves.

So, Lin Yan did not hesitate and placed his bid. As a quasi-Flame Path Master attainment, he had already pushed the Huang Family's foundation to its limits. What he lacked now was not resources, but new inheritances to broaden his understanding.

This Fire Control True Inheritance was at Rank 4, originally belonging to a mid-sized Family. It was far more complete than what a lone Rank 4 Gu Master could leave behind. Aside from the actual Gu worms, it contained all the necessary killer moves and refinement recipes.

The bidding quickly intensified. Lin Yan raised the price steadily, and soon it reached two hundred thousand primeval stones.

He was already at a bottleneck. Hoarding more primeval stones had little meaning. What he needed now was advancement, so he did not hesitate over the cost.

In the end, Lin Yan secured the Fire Control True Inheritance for three hundred thousand primeval stones, leaving him with roughly four hundred thousand primeval stones.

After that, nothing else in the Flame Path auction caught Lin Yan's attention. When the auction ended, he returned with his gains. In his hands were two Gu—Life Spirit Fire Gu and the Mind-Engraving Gu that contained the Fire Control True Inheritance.

The Life Spirit Fire Gu was as large as a millstone. Its brown back looked like rough tree bark, while green flames flowed along its edges, carrying a faint scent of grass and wood. The aura was gentle, like a spring breeze, easing his mind and even causing hidden injuries in his body to slowly fade.

The seller had also informed him of its feeding requirements, so he did not need to worry about that for now.

The other was a Rank 3 Mind-Engraving Gu, marked with three spots on its shell. As soon as Lin Yan activated it, a flood of information surged into his mind and settled deeply within his memory.

It contained dozens of Gu recipes, core and auxiliary refinement methods, feeding techniques, combined killer moves, and even detailed knowledge about more than a hundred types of Otherworldly Flames.

The core Gu of this Fire Control True Inheritance was not a Flame Path Gu, but a Rule Path Gu—The Number Gu [Three]. Because of this, when paired with Flame Path Gu, it could control three types of Otherworldly Flames at the same time, forming the killer move Otherworldly Flame Three Transformations. It also included an auxiliary killer move called Flame Fusion.

Lin Yan was genuinely pleased. This inheritance fit his ideas almost perfectly. If he combined it with the Huang Family's accumulated research, he could likely deduce the Rank 3 Borrow Fire Gu in a short time.

This confidence came from his dual Quasi Master attainment in Flame Path and Refinement Path.

Moreover, he recalled a key insight left behind by Fang Yuan, every killer move and every Gu formation in this world was, in essence, an incomplete Gu recipe. Once refined and perfected, it could give birth to a brand new Gu worm.

Lin Yan agreed deeply with this view. He intended to build upon the Huang Family's foundation, refine their methods further, and create something new from it.
