Chapter 26 - The Ascendant Descent

The next day dawned. Tian Zhu, accompanied by his five disciples – Mei Mei, Kaelen, Pyralia, Zephyr, and Seraphina – sat within the main arena, their eyes fixed on the center of action. They bore the subtle marks of their recent, brutal ordeal. The final competition commenced. Following the Emperors' direct intervention (which had reduced the number of active teams to ten), four more teams withdrew, citing devastating losses and the insurmountable danger of the remaining trials. This left six teams to contend for ultimate victory.

The remaining teams, stripped of any semblance of mercy, clashed with an intensity that dwarqued their previous encounters. Battles raged, techniques of astonishing power and lethal intent flashed across the arena, each team fighting for survival and the elusive promise of the Upper Realm. In the end, after a series of grueling and devastating clashes, the Earth Emperor's team emerged victorious, their triumph a testament to their brutal efficiency and perhaps the Emperors' subtle nudges.

But as the cheers of victory began to echo, the sky above the arena ripped open. A jagged rift, pulsing with an otherworldly, radiant energy laced with a chilling killing intent, tore through the firmament. Three figures, their auras radiating power far beyond anything the current realm had witnessed, descended.

Tian Zhu's eyes narrowed. He had felt the oppressive power of the five Emperors, but these newcomers were on an entirely different celestial plane. "Use the teleport crystals," he commanded instantly, his voice calm but laced with urgency. Without question, the five disciples activated the sect's teleportation stones. A flash of light enveloped them, and in an instant, they were gone, whisked away to the safety of the Platinum Sect, miles distant.

The three figures landed, their presence sending shockwaves through the arena. "We are Martial Ancestor realm powerhouses," one announced, their voice resonating with ancient authority. "We have descended to this lower world for talented seeds. Five Emperors of this realm, the Upper Realm court orders us to bring you, and then to purge this entire planet." The threat was absolute and terrifying.

Before the five Emperors could even process this devastating decree, the sky above cracked open again, this time with a violent, void-like aperture. A single figure, radiating an aura of supreme, unfathomable power, descended. This was a Martial Void realm powerhouse.

"Enough," the Martial Void expert declared, his voice calm yet utterly commanding, silencing even the Martial Ancestors. "Go to the Upper Realm. If you prove yourselves worthy, you may become my disciples." He addressed the five Emperors, who stood frozen in shock and awe. With a casual wave of his hand, the Martial Void expert opened a void channel, a swirling vortex of cosmic energy linking the lower realm directly to the Upper Realm. The five Emperors, now seemingly insignificant under this supreme being's gaze, stepped into the void space, their previous arrogance shattered as they began their journey through the void.

The three Martial Ancestors, their mission seemingly altered or perhaps superseded, also turned to depart. But the Martial Void realm expert remained. He drew forth a colossal hammer, imbued with his inner power. As he raised it with both hands, he activated his Martial Soul. The sheer power unleashed caused the very fabric of the world to tremble. A martial soul field, spanning miles, then expanded to cover half the world, a testament to his unparalleled might.

Left alone in the suddenly quiet arena, Tian Zhu found himself contemplating the impossible. He had received no direct command from Lu Kai, his former Sect Master, and Lu Kai had not appeared to clear this escalating mess. A thought sparked in his mind, a dangerous, exhilarating realization: he was a Martial Emperor, and now, faced with a display of power that dwarqued even the former Emperors, it was time to test his own abilities.
