"You are the Clown," Juniper repeated. "I can see that."
Her red eyes looked Solomon up and down, taking in the man's physical form. Her facial expressions gave nothing away, as she always seemed to wear a confident smile on her face.
"But you are not the God of Information. I am certain of that, because the God of Information is dead."
The words caught Solomon off guard.
Ever since his transmigration, he had wondered why he had appeared in this body, and answered prayers dedicated to the God of Information.
It seems that at the time of my transmigration, a god died and I took his place.
So just who was the god before I arrived, and how did he die?
Solomon kept his calm. He had a mission, and couldn't risk blowing it.
"That's right, I am not the God of Information. If I were then I wouldn't need to call on you." He responded calmly.
"So why did you call on me? I have been watching you carefully, Solomon White. You're playing games with my kingdom, and even its princess. Don't you know that I am Lucy Windelle's ancestor? I am related to the young lady." Juniper responded with a raised brow.
No, actually, I did not know that. But it explains the beauty, and the curves.
"I hope I haven't disrespected you in any way. I promise that my intentions within the Kingdom are nothing but pure." Solomon spoke truthfully.
Juniper sat there and continued to listen.
"In fact, it's for the benefit of Lucy that I called you. She is to be married off to—"
"Prince Godrick. Yes, I know. A nasty young man." Juniper interrupted, so Solomon nodded his head.
"A nasty young man indeed."
This next part was crucial, so Solomon uncrossed his legs and leaned forward. He wiped the smile from his face and spoke in a serious tone.
"I cannot allow this marriage to happen. If I do, it will only give the Prince Godrick power. He could treat Lucy as a prisoner, and if that happens, then once the boy inherits the Valanian throne, who's to stop him from trying to take over the Kingdom of Olaria? Your kingdom."
Solomon's words hung in the air for a few moments.
He watched Juniper as the red-haired woman twirled her fencing sword thoughtfully. The flowers around it danced with magic.
Solomon tried his best not to look at her breasts or slender body, lest he become distracted.
Eventually, she let out a laugh beneath her breathe.
Solomon frowned. "I understand that I'm the clown, but nothing that I said was a joke."
"No, no. It's not that, Mister Clown." Juniper said with a wave of her hand. "It's just that I already planned to kill the young Prince, and it seems I now have an ally."
Solomon's eyes went wide with disbelief.
Kill the young Prince?!
I never mentioned something so serious, don't call me an ally so soon!
But Solomon kept these thoughts to himself. He had no intention of showing that the thought of killing was above him.
He stayed silent and let the goddess continue.
"Prince Godrick will surely do as you said. He and his mother are sick humans who will stop at nothing in order to gain power over the Eastern Island Kingdoms. The only reason I haven't intervened yet is that their kingdom still offers me their prayers, and I do not have a physical form on Altearth."
Slowly and unintentionally, Solomon was learning more about the nature of gods.
He now knew that some gods had physical forms that could descend into the physical world, whilst others didn't.
"But you, Mister Clown. You have no affiliations with the Valanian Kingdom. You also have a body that can physically interact with the lower world. With my help, you could surely put an end to the young prince's life."
Solomon sat there thinking about the proposition.
His initial intentions were to seek the god's help, and perhaps leave the boy in a state where he would no longer be fit for marriage.
This, however, took it a step further.
Both Lucy and Goddess Juniper have told me about the evil doings of Prince Godrick. It's clear that the man might deserve death.
The only problem is, am I capable of killing?
He thought about what the other option would be. Allowing Lucy to marry the man, and perhaps leading her to her doom.
No, I've already decided that she will be one of my women. I'm not prepared to give her to the evil prince.
His decision was made. There could be no room for half-heartedness when playing the role of a god.
Sometimes it was necessary to get rid of others for the greater good.
"I will kill the young Prince Godrick."
Juniper smiled and twirled her blade once more.
"Excellent, and a fast decision too. Perhaps you could change your title to the God of Death. No other being currently holds that title."
The goddess was joking, but she didn't seem to know that she was feeding Solomon information.
The God of Death is dead too? What would be the implications of that? Surely death still exists in this world, so who governs it?
His train of thought was cut off as Juniper continued.
"Now then, as you know, gods can provide strength through human veins, with these levels of strength going up to ten. Prince Godrick is not a religious man. He hasn't prayed to me, and therefore has been granted none of my power."
"That's good. So he shouldn't be difficult to take down." Solomon said with a nod.
But Juniper shook her head.
"That would be the case, if not for his personal guard. A man named Badrick Blackhand. He is the prince's closest ally, and secretly prays to the God of Decay, my long sworn enemy."
What?
"Isn't it illegal within the Valanian Kingdom to worship gods other than yourself?" Solomon asked with surprise.
"It is, which is why he worships in secret. I do not know how strong he is, but you will most certainly have to fight him to make it to the Prince."
Solomon could only scratch at his chin.
All I've fought so far is a wine monster using a purified sword. If I had to face this Badrick, then I'm sure I would meet the God of Death, if the being still existed.
Which was why Solomon turned to Juniper with a hopeful look.
The woman was examining Solomon with a close eye, as though weighing him up.
"I can temporarily grant you access to the fifth vein of restoration. If you manage to complete this task, I'll allow you to keep those powers, and perhaps grow even stronger without having to worship me."
Those were the words Solomon wanted to hear, and the reason why he had called upon the god.
He did not know what her powers did, or how powerful a fifth vein was; however, it was sure to be enough if that's what she was offering.
Solomon bowed his head, only enough so that it was respectful, yet didn't make him seem weak.
"Thank you, Juniper. Our task will be complete when I am able to complete it."
Juniper's smile grew wider. She didn't respond but instead continued to look the clown up and down.
There was a strange look in her eyes. Solomon thought it might have been seduction.
His thoughts turned out to be right.
"I saw the way you touched Lucy," Juniper spoke casually, moving onto less serious matters. "It's been a while since I've been in my physical body."
The goddess rose to her feet displaying her full naked body, before resting her sword on the ground.
"Why don't we make use of this opportunity to make a sexual connection, as gods?"
