Nyra found him at dawn.
"You didn't lose control," she said.
Kael gave a faint smile. "That's progress, right?"
She didn't smile back.
"You didn't need to," she said.
Kael frowned. "Explain."
"You're not forcing control anymore," she replied.
"You're becoming it."
That silence lingered.
"…That's not comforting," Kael admitted.
Nyra stepped closer.
"It doesn't have to be," she said.
"Just don't forget where you started."
