Xavier's POV
I stood near the entrance of the lounge for a moment, taking everything in and honestly, it felt good to be out of the office and opened n an entirely different place. A place that had nothing to do with my regular life.
For the first time in days, I wasn't staring at crime scene photos, autopsy reports, or security footage... I was staring at people that were actually enjoying their lives.
Lucky bastards.
My eyes swept across the room, looking and searching for a familiar face, for Mario that invited here over.
Then I spotted him sitting in the far-right corner and at that moment, he saw me and waved me over.
Finally... I grinned and started walking toward him.
The moment I reached the booth, I dropped into the chair beside him.
"Yo."
Mario laughed. "There he is."
I looked around again. "Damn. This place is packed."
"Told you." He leaned back comfortably. "We are going to have a good time tonight."
