Chapter 288 - Chapter 288: Siblings Reconciled

Fujino, 2B, First Snow, and the others talked until the sun went down. Encia, who had finished changing clothes, also joined them midway.

Speaking of Encia, she had another name, called Cliffheart, but that was her future codename. Right now, she was not infected with oripathy, nor was she an operator of Rhodes Island.

Therefore, there was no cooperative relationship between Rhodes Island and SilverAsh's Kjerag Trading.

The sun gradually set, and the night emerged. Stars decorated the pitch-black night sky; the night in Kjerag was exceptionally beautiful.

SilverAsh walked on the path accumulated with snow. He had just walked out of Manjuin. Confronting the old guys there was a mentally exhausting task; none of those old geezers were easy to deal with.

Especially that elder who didn't like him, who repeatedly made things difficult for him during the meeting, even bringing it out into the open. The other elders not only didn't stop him but remained silent, tacitly agreeing to that elder's harassment. If SilverAsh hadn't prepared in advance, he wouldn't have been able to walk out of the meeting this time.

"It seems the people from Manjuin also need to be included in the plan." This meeting made SilverAsh realize that these so-called elders and those two families were all birds of a feather. If he wanted his and his sister's future life in Kjerag to be stable, all these unstable elements had to be dealt with!

SilverAsh had already made his decision, even if it meant staining this white snowy land with bright red.

SilverAsh did not walk towards his home, but in the opposite direction towards his sister First Snow's home. Since his sister and he had fallen out, she had moved out of the family's old mansion.

Because of the relationship between him and his sister, SilverAsh rarely visited her current home.

After all, given their current relationship, they couldn't say much even if they met, and it would always end in silence.

However, since Fujino was there now, SilverAsh had to go; it was safer to discuss some matters early.

Actually, SilverAsh held a glimmer of hope in his heart. Horn had contacted him before, saying that he had asked Ms. Fujino to help them sort out their feelings, and Ms. Fujino had agreed.

Therefore, SilverAsh was hopeful about this.

Arriving in front of First Snow's house, where the lights were on, SilverAsh stood at the gate and faintly heard the happy laughter of his two sisters. He hadn't heard his two sisters sound so happy in a long time, especially First Snow.

As expected, Ms. Fujino is very popular.

It should have been a happy thing, but SilverAsh felt very helpless inside.

Although he wasn't clear about his younger sister Encia's attitude toward Ms. Fujino, First Snow's attitude was already clear.

Sighing helplessly and hesitating for a moment, SilverAsh knocked on the door of the house.

Soon he heard footsteps, and with a click, the door opened. The person who opened the door was unexpected to SilverAsh. It was actually First Snow.

First Snow behind the door looked at SilverAsh, her eyes struggling, and then, under SilverAsh's puzzled gaze, she lowered her head and whispered: "I'm sorry, Brother."

"First... First Snow, what did you call me?" SilverAsh's body stiffened. He didn't know how long it had been; since he returned to Kjerag, he had never heard the word "Brother" from First Snow's mouth again.

For a moment, SilverAsh's eyes became moist, and the hand holding his cane sword was trembling slightly.

First Snow raised her head, her eyes slightly red. She looked at SilverAsh and showed a beautiful smile: "I'm sorry, Brother, I was too willful."

As she spoke, First Snow hugged SilverAsh, and tears slowly flowed from her eyes.

SilverAsh looked at his sister holding him, and this real man also shed tears.

It had been too long, so long that even the time that should have been memorable had become blurred in his heart.

And just as these siblings were reconciling, Umbrella welcomed a pair of guests.

Rhodes Island's doctor Kaltsit, as well as a girl who looked very much like a Feline, the girl who would be the leader of Rhodes Island in two years.

"What an exaggerated and terrifying building." Kaltsit looked up, watching the Umbrella building reaching into the clouds, her eyes flashing with an unreadable expression.

Looking at this building, a term she didn't want to mention flashed through her mind. Babel!

"Perhaps the person behind Umbrella knows far more than I believed," Kaltsit said in a low voice, her gaze heavy.

"Teacher Kaltsit, what are you saying?" Amiya had just been attracted by the tall Umbrella building, and only came back to her senses when she heard Kaltsit's vague words.

"Nothing." Kaltsit shook her head and looked at Amiya: "Let's go in. Amiya, you should have already contacted the people at Umbrella, right?"

"Yes." Amiya nodded vigorously: "This is the first task you gave me, Teacher Kaltsit. Yesterday, I asked the boss of Penguin Logistics, who cooperates closely with Umbrella, to help us contact the people at Umbrella, and they have already agreed to meet us."

"That's good." Kaltsit nodded, approving of Amiya's approach. Rhodes Island had no contact with Umbrella at all, so rashly proposing to meet them would not be polite; entrusting someone else to bridge the gap was undoubtedly a good choice.
