"May I ask what being a pet entails?" Although Fujino's words were a huge temptation for Inaba Tewi—to be protected by such a powerful existence meant her kin would no longer need to migrate everywhere to avoid being hunted by other yokai—it was always good to clarify things.
"A body pillow, of course." Fujino bent down and looked at Tewi with a smile. "How about it? As long as you become my pet—which is basically just being a body pillow—I will protect your kin. Of course, I won't make your kin do anything suicidal, and that includes you. How does that sound?"
"Um…" Tewi was clearly hesitant, not sure if she should say it.
"Just say whatever you want to ask," Fujino smiled.
"Do you like people with small statures?"
"…"
The atmosphere suddenly fell into silence. Fujino looked at Tewi with a strange gaze, causing Tewi to suddenly become nervous. As expected, she shouldn't have asked that.
"Let me explain it to you." Fujino stood up and pointed a finger at Tewi. A white light flashed, and Tewi, who had become disheveled from fleeing, was instantly refreshed. The torn pink dress she was wearing was restored to its original state.
"That's amazing!" Tewi opened her mouth in surprise.
"It's nothing." Fujino smiled, slipped her arms under Tewi's armpits, and lifted her up. Tewi was stunned and subconsciously wanted to resist, but she went along with Fujino's movements and ended up being held in Fujino's arms.
Fujino casually sat down on a tree stump and gently stroked Tewi's rabbit ears. Tewi's face flushed red immediately; for a rabbit, the ears were the most sensitive area.
"So cute." Fujino giggled, let go of Tewi's ears, and turned to stroke Tewi's smooth, short black hair.
"You still haven't answered my previous question." Tewi dodged Fujino's hand, her face flushed red as she turned to look at Fujino.
"I do like people with small statures," Fujino admitted quite generously. "Like you, for example. You can be called a loli. A so-called loli is someone with a body type like yours. Although in terms of age, you are past the limit of a loli, because you are a yokai, you count as a 'legal loli.' That is the reason I want you as a pet; I like lolis."
Tewi was a bit confused, but thinking about it, she could roughly confirm a few things. It seemed that this girl in front of her liked her because she was the 'loli' that the girl had mentioned, which was why she wanted to take her as a pet. Looking at it this way, being taken as a pet by this girl didn't seem like a bad thing at all; it was actually quite good.
"How about it? Have you decided?" Fujino asked softly, her hand creeping back onto Tewi's rabbit ears to play with them delicately.
"I... I agree." Tewi's face was beet red, and the sensation from her sensitive ears made her feel weak all over.
"Since that's the case, let me introduce myself." Fujino let go of Tewi's ears, her tone becoming unusually serious.
"My name is Asagami Fujino, your future master!"
"Yes!" Tewi turned to look at Fujino and flashed a cute smile.
"Alright, we should go. Let's go see your kin, and then I'll take you to see your future home." Fujino said as she stood up while holding Tewi.
"Mm!" Tewi's eyes were shining with a different kind of light, one of hope for the future, and relief. She would finally no longer have to hide and flee from the hunting of other yokai. Finally, she would have a safe place to live!
"Alright, we need to hurry. Where is your kin?"
"Not far from here, Lady Fujino."
"No need to call me 'Lady', just calling me Fujino is fine. It's over there, right? Let's go!"
