Looking at the sun before her, Fujino pondered silently. The high temperature brought by the sun had no effect on her; if anything, it was just a bit too bright.
"Whatever, the Age of Gods is about to begin. I'll just put in a bit more effort."
The era of youkai was about to pass. Because human fear of youkai was almost taking physical form, the world had to respond. In other words, it could be understood as the advancement of the era. A portion of Touko would be transformed into the world's fuel as the price for the world's progression, and this was the best choice. The era of youkai would eventually pass, and the gods born from the thoughts and fears of humans were about to appear in a brand-new era.
Gods can roughly be divided into two types. The first type is born from human wishes. For example, when humans pray for rain, the stronger the prayer, the more it attaches to the most similar object. Under the concentrated wishes, a so-called god is formed. This kind of god is born from human wishes and is very weak at first, but as long as there are enough believers to provide a large amount of faith, their strength can grow rapidly. Gods born this way rely on humans and need faith to survive; once they lose faith, they lose the meaning of their existence, grow weaker, and finally dissipate completely.
Most of the so-called Eight Million Gods in the future Dongying refer to this kind of life born from strong human wishes. Their original forms are quite diverse—a stone or a small blade of grass could become a god under a strong enough wish.
"World Power, rise!"
The world trembled violently, triggering a massive earthquake. Because of this earthquake, a special race was born; they were known as the Celestials!
But that is a story for later.
A wisp of invisible world power was drawn from the world's origin and fused into the red sphere.
Fujino's movements did not stop there. A terrifying wisp of black aura emerged from her finger. It was a very tiny black aura that seemed like it could dissipate at any moment, but the violent energy within it was enough to destroy half the world.
Fujino tapped her finger lightly, and the black aura flew directly into the sphere. The red sphere was stained with a faint gray, but it quickly vanished.
"Child..." Fujino approached the red sphere and stroked it gently.
The red sphere trembled slightly, responding to Fujino's touch.
"Don't be in a hurry, take it slow." Fujino smiled gently and added, "Remember, your name is Shinki!"
