Another city.
The train was traveling at high speed, and the scenery outside the window was quickly receding.
Ryusei sat alone on the train, tightly clutching the registration form for VV Academy.
"The train has arrived at the station. Passengers, please leave the train in an orderly manner. Please do not..."
At this moment, the train's loudspeaker sounded like heavenly music to Ryusei. There weren't many people on the train now. Ryusei quickly ran out. The conductor's shouts came from behind, but Ryusei had no time to pay attention. The deadline for VV Academy's registration was almost up. He had taken leave today to come here, and he only had half a day; he had to go back in the afternoon, so he didn't have much time.
Because he had no money, taking a taxi was impossible. The little money left in his bag was for the return fare. This small amount was something he had managed to pull from Qi Xiaosai's bank card, which only had a two-digit balance left.
Fortunately, the registration location for VV Academy wasn't far. For Ryusei, who had unlocked his Sixth Sense, half an hour was enough to get there.
Thus, a rapidly passing dark shadow appeared on the crowded street. Whenever the shadow passed, it would bring a gust of wind and some screams from young girls.
"Finally made it... I'm exhausted."
Ryusei leaned against a wall, panting heavily. Having rushed at this speed for a long time, he felt as if his feet were about to catch fire. If it hadn't been for a puddle on the road that allowed him to cool down, he would probably be barefoot by now.
After resting for a while, Ryusei continued forward and arrived in front of a large gate. Taking a deep breath, he checked the time on his watch. Good, he hadn't missed it yet; there was only one minute left. Then Ryusei pushed open the gate.
"I'm here to submit my registration form!"
Ryusei looked around. The room was full of people, and there was also a middle-aged man who looked like an uncle, leisurely painting amidst the crowd.
The man turned his head to look at Ryusei: "Hmm! Time is almost up. You're the last one to register."
That was close. Fortunately, he had activated his Sixth Sense; otherwise, he would have been late by just one step. Ryusei couldn't help but feel very grateful to Asagami Fujino. If she hadn't helped him activate his Sixth Sense, he might have missed VV Academy.
The painting uncle stood up, looked at everyone, and said: "Very well, everyone is here now. VV Academy has accepted you. The content for the next step of the exam is on the disc upstairs. Please wait here for a moment."
After saying that, the uncle got up and left, and everyone in the room began to talk.
"Hey!" A man with spiky hair patted Ryusei's shoulder: "Hello."
"Uh, hello," Ryusei greeted somewhat awkwardly.
The spiky-haired man looked at Ryusei and said confidently: "Although you're no threat to me, out of politeness, let's get to know each other."
"Haha, hello." Ryusei was speechless in his heart, but he still smiled on the surface.
Suddenly, Ryusei thought of something and asked the spiky-haired man: "Where are your pigeons?"
"Pigeons? What pigeons?" the spiky-haired man said, puzzled.
"Ah? When you received the VV Academy registration form, wasn't it delivered by a pigeon?"
Ryusei wondered if that bastard Qi Xiaosai had lied to him.
"Oh, are you talking about the messenger pigeons?!" The spiky-haired man understood and nodded, answering: "Of course I ate it!"
"Eh!" Ryusei looked at the spiky-haired man in disbelief. Wasn't that the pigeon that was supposed to take the registration form back? How could he have eaten it?! Was what Qi Xiaosai said false?
"Of course, you can also let it go. VV Academy doesn't care about a few pigeons," the spiky-haired man added. "The pigeons are only responsible for delivering the letters. Those who sent them back as the letter instructed have already been eliminated."
Ryusei immediately understood the key point, but he was also a bit confused. Listening to the spiky-haired man, he realized that the requirements they received from VV Academy seemed different from his own; his form didn't mention anything about using a pigeon to send the letter back.
"Ah!"
A sudden scream from outside the door caught everyone's attention.
Everyone rushed out the door and saw the painting uncle from before lying on the ground.
"...Deli Zhao's materials were stolen."
Outside, Asagami Fujino, Literary Star, and Military Star were sitting in a black sedan.
"That's it then. Just let this guy Ryusei pass; there's no need to worry about the others."
"Alright." Literary Star and Military Star both nodded. They had already heard about Ryusei's strength from Greedy Wolf (Qi Xiaosai) and agreed.
"Also, tell Qi Xiaosai to come back quickly to see Amy. Amy is leaving tonight," Asagami Fujino said.
"Eh? Why?!"
