The villa glowed softly under the evening sky. Lin Guo had arranged a private dinner on the terrace, just for him and Chen Yuxi, with city lights twinkling like stars below.
"You've been unstoppable today," he murmured, pouring her a glass of champagne. "Even with Yue Xinyan's final schemes, you handled everything perfectly."
Yuxi smiled, slightly flushed from the praise and the sparkling champagne. "I… I couldn't have done it without you."
He stepped closer, hand brushing hers possessively. "You don't need me to do everything for you… but you'll always have me to protect you. To claim you."
Her heartbeat quickened. "Claim me?" she asked softly, teasing hiding her nerves.
"Publicly, privately… always," he said, dark eyes locking onto hers. "I don't share what's mine. Not with schemers, rivals, or anyone else."
The soft click of the villa door announced Lin Guo's family entering for a surprise check-in. His mother and father exchanged amused glances as they saw the subtle possessiveness between them.
"Lin Guo tells us you two are… quite serious," his mother said lightly, smirking. "And that champagne? Looks celebratory."
Yuxi's cheeks warmed. "We… are serious," she said softly, glancing at Lin Guo.
He smirked, stepping even closer, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "And we're planning… a future together," he whispered, thumb grazing her cheek.
His family exchanged approving nods, subtle smiles spreading. The tension from past teasing and contract marriage whispers had softened. Lin Guo's protective obsession and Yuxi's confidence had won their respect.
Yuxi laughed softly, leaning into him. "Then… we really are planning something."
"Yes," he murmured, possessive and teasing. "And everyone will know… eventually. But for now, it's ours."
The city lights below sparkled like their future—bright, exhilarating, and completely theirs.
