Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: Pathetically Weak

"Let's go meet the emperor."

"Azir?" Zilean's voice sounded bleak, but he still tried to pull himself together.

"Yes." Doubt flickered in Taliyah's eyes. Behind Zilean, there were still many people waiting to be saved.

Although the surrounding tribes could spare quite a bit of food to keep them alive, where these people truly belonged had become unclear.

Even back in the old Shurima, these people had opposed Shurima and promoted Icathian independence.

And yet, after they used their final trump card, they were the ones who had been destroyed instead. That was something many people could not accept.

Their time had been frozen in that moment, but in the world now, even Shurima had already fallen once.

If these people did not approve of Shurima's rise now...

It would not really matter.

No matter how much weaker the current Shurima was compared to before, Renekton and Nasus, no matter how weakened they were, were still invincible compared to ordinary mortals.

And there were also Aatrox and Yaanogel, two Darkin, along with Xolaani, a master of blood magic.

Those were not people the civilians in this tower could even begin to challenge.

No matter how strong Zilean was, at most, he was an enhanced version of Ekko. If he casually changed something and lost control, the butterfly effect could swallow him completely.

So in the end, if he truly interfered with Shurima's rise, such as preventing Azir from becoming an Ascended, the later temporal turbulence, according to what Caleb had heard from Ekko, would have consequences far more serious than the rise or fall of an entire city.

That was why Caleb dared to be certain that Zilean would not joke around with the history of Icathia as a whole.

"Then I will leave the aftermath to you."

Zilean's figure did not last long. Before much time had passed, he vanished from where he stood.

"What is... going on?"

A huge crowd of people poured out of the tower, all muttering something.

Caleb could understand a little of it, but everyone else, including Kai'Sa, looked completely lost.

"I can only understand a little. What they're speaking might be ancient Icathian."

After all, language was a field that constantly developed. Most of what Icathians spoke now had merged with influences from Ixtal and Shurima.

After all, the country was gone, so no one had been able to pass that language down.

Aside from these people whose time had been stopped inside the tower.

As for Caleb, he guessed it was probably another gift from that all-purpose system.

At the same time, he secretly let out a breath of relief. Since he could understand what they were saying, the problem was not actually that serious.

"This is several thousand years later."

Caleb expressed his meaning very smoothly. After all, fully mastering this skill basically meant that Caleb could even chat with beings from the death realm or the Void.

The Void could forget it, though.

Those things only knew how to eat. Caleb did not think he could have a normal conversation with them.

"This is Kai'Sa, Icathia's new Ascended."

After Caleb introduced her, the surrounding crowd dropped to their knees in a wave.

"Shurima already fell once before. It has only recently risen again, and it is now ruled by an Ascended emperor."

"If you're willing, that place may be able to accept you."

Caleb did not know what Zilean intended to do. Perhaps after meeting him, there were even more timelines waiting for Zilean to uncover.

But Caleb still had other things to do.

"Kai'Sa, take them near the Sun Disc. There may be records of ancient Icathian in Shurima's Tomb of the Emperors."

"Nuisance, you're not coming with me?"

Caleb gently waved his hand and said, "I need to quickly find the Darkin in Ionia. The war against the Void may be arriving soon."

That had been a war several thousand years ago, and only after the god-warriors had thrown themselves into it without hesitation, and their bodies had later rotted away, had they managed to seal the Void.

Although the Void was still lying dormant at this moment, judging from Kai'Sa's childhood experiences, where some cattle and sheep had been sacrificed to the Void, there were still many scattered stragglers wandering around.

It was just that these Void creatures had not yet grown into a true threat. They were nothing like the creations the Void Watchers themselves had shaped and thrown onto the battlefield before.

Caleb did not think for too long before having Yuumi take him to Ionia.

Watching Caleb head in another direction, Kai'Sa let out a slight breath of relief, but then she grew alert again.

Back in Piltover, she had heard that Ionia had Vastaya, and among them, the fox tribe was especially good at bewitching people's hearts.

"But as long as he doesn't go to that forest, there shouldn't be any problem."

Kai'Sa muttered to herself, then led the group toward the Sun Disc in the far west.

Sivir, Qiyana, and Taliyah were responsible for keeping the group safe, since a few Void creatures still wandered this place.

Behind a hill somewhere in the desert, in a place Caleb had not noticed earlier, two long wings were gently flapping.

"Change is a good thing..."

...

"Ladies and gentlemen, let us welcome the next group of fighters into the arena!"

Amid countless cheers, Caleb looked at the burly, hairy man on the high platform not far away, then glared hard at Yuumi beside him.

"Ionia is this huge, and the only portal you have goes to a fighting pit?"

There was no surprise on Yuumi's face. Instead, she revealed a smug smile.

"We're just having some fun. It won't take much time."

Caleb instantly appeared at the very center of the arena. To the spectators, this was a spectacular entrance.

Behind Caleb, the muscular man on the lift platform looked somewhat curious. Why did the eyes of the entire crowd not seem to be aimed at him?

After all, as a veteran gladiator, he knew exactly where the crowd's attention should be.

What was going on with this pretty boy in front of him?

Although over the years, for the sake of making matches more exciting, many fights had already had their storylines and even their moves arranged in advance.

After all, the audience came here to enjoy a spectacle. As for whether it was truly real...

That was a minor issue.

"Hey, kid."

As an intruder outside the script, Caleb naturally made tonight's star very unhappy.

After all, his role tonight was both long and exciting. If nothing unexpected happened, he would make a fortune from it.

"Get out. This isn't your place, understand?"

In the time it took for a fist to rapidly approach his face, he had not even finished saying the last word.

Then the world spun.

"Is he really this weak?"

Caleb looked around at the gladiators who could not quite understand what had just happened and found it a little strange.

"These people are so boring. They don't even really fight anymore."

Yuumi was the one who revealed the truth, and Caleb finally understood.

Then he made a move no one in the entire arena expected.

Facing the gladiator boss on the high platform, the strongest fighter nearby, Sett, who was surrounded by two maids, Caleb flashed a mouthful of white teeth.

Then he gave him a thumbs-down.

"Pathetic!"
