If the guard had been brainwashed, the door was bound to open sooner or later. I had to think fast since I was about to face Michael Lighart unprepared.
It was obvious from how he came looking for me by using a guard, but Michael Lighart seemed to want to know my identity, to the point of not caring whether Hades was next to me or not.
That wasn’t surprising. He probably wanted to know what happened to Aisha Heathcliff, who should have her nexus exposed from not being able to use mana.
I could fully understand Michael’s anxiety. If I only knew how to use a miniscule amount of mana like many other people of this Empire after I quit taking the mana suppressants, he wouldn’t be so worried. But I even managed to block his brainwashing. That would mean that I may already be in a state where I could unleash nullification. It would have been a great threat to Michael Lighart.
