Chapter 88
GEORGIA'S POV
I spun around instantly, my eyes locking onto the nearest wall. Had I actually just seen that? Were my paranoid suspicions from yesterday finally confirmed? Did Nikolaj have feelings for her? Were they already a couple? How long had this been going on?
I practically fled the room, desperate to avoid the humiliation of being caught witnessing something so private. I walked aimlessly until I found myself in the garden, where I collapsed onto the grass, trying to scrub the image from my brain.
I felt a toxic mix of betrayal, fury, and raw jealousy. They were probably in there right now, enjoying each other's company.
How could Nikolaj spend the entire night flirting with me, only to wake up and kiss another woman? I know, I know—we were "just friends," but still...
"Damn it! Friends," I spat the word out. Why was I even this angry? I was the one who had insisted on that label a thousand times. Just friends. Only friends.
