Rein was a notorious hitman working for a mysterious agency under the alias 'Agent X'. He was known to be the most dangerous hitman the world has ever seen, with an almost perfect record. It was said that no target had ever escaped his grasp, making him a monster that every notable figure in the world feared.

Until, one day, and seemingly out of nowhere, the world shifted completely as humans started turning into flesh-eating monsters, and all the living creatures in the world became terrifying monsters. Cities burned down, and countless people died.

However, unbeknownst to Rein, this was but the start of his journey. From a normal human to the pinnacle of power.

Realizing the disaster about to befall them, Rein clenched his teeth as he leaped in the air, landing on one of the more intact spots before he leaped again, closing the distance between him and Virgo.


"You won't see the light of day, Rein!!!" Virgo yelled as he shot another bullet, aimed directly at Rein. The latter had already anticipated that as he quickly slashed with his sword. His reaction speed would've never been enough to deflect bullets, but Rein wasn't using his reaction speed and rather his intuition and Life Essence to predict where the bullet would go and deflect it.


It was something that Rein started naturally doing without even realizing, as if his body knew the normal and right way of dealing with extremely fast projectiles.


His hand moved like a flash, slicing through the bullets as shards of melted iron flew everywhere around him.
