Chapter 42- Calm Before the Storm
Rein sucked a deep breath as he looked around him. The rain hadn't stopped the entire night and only grew stronger as the time passed. The two had already gotten soaking wet because of it, so he pulled Violet away to a shed where he could talk to her and calm her down.
She was still trying to stop her tears, but her fear for her family and Alex was simply far too big. Seeing her little sister being forced inside that car made her feel so angry and yet so hopeless that she felt suffocated. She couldn't do anything about it, even though she was way stronger than she was before. A gun could still easily kill her.
After a few minutes, Violet finally calmed down and gathered her breath.
"Do you feel calmer now?" Rein asked as he looked at her.
"Mmm… I'm… fine…" She replied as she wiped her eyes.
