Mia was on fire.
Ruby had seen her sister in many modes over the years—fragile, hopeful, determined, fierce. But this was something new. This was a woman who had found her purpose and was running with it at full speed, leaving everyone else in her dust.
"Listen to this," Mia said, bursting into the study without knocking. She did that now, ever since she'd become a force of nature. "I found a shell company that Kai used to pay off officials. One of the names is a sitting member of parliament."
Ruby looked up from her paperwork, setting down her pen. "A member of parliament?"
"Conservative. Been in office for twelve years. He's up for re-election next year." Mia's eyes were gleaming with barely contained excitement. "If we can prove he took bribes from Kai, it'll bring down his entire political career. And it'll show that Kai's influence was even wider than we thought."
Ruby felt a chill run down her spine. "That's huge, Mia. That's—that's massive."
