I walked with him while he explained everything I've already read. While he rambled, I observed the damage.
I knew it was bad, but with each step it seems to get worse. The destruction is indescribable.
The lives lost, ones that probably didn't deserve it, maybe some that did.
Debris was dropped everywhere, and the parking lot was coated in ash and charred wood. Heaps of melted plastic were scattered everywhere. The scent of burnt flesh still clung in the air. Heavy and full of despair. It was like their pain and panic had scared this land.
Memories of that day flashed through my mind. The family hotel. Left alone to die. The smell of burning cloth and melting plastic was imprinted in my mind.
The screams. God the screams.
This place was like a kick in the gut. Forcing things, I'd rather forget forward in my mind.
