Chapter 116: The God of Destruction's Wrath!
Furina was well aware that the God of Destruction harbored deep resentment toward Tang San for seizing control over the Divine Realm's administration.
This was entirely understandable. As an elder God King, one of the original enforcers of the Divine Realm's laws, being overshadowed by a "latecomer" would not sit well with anyone.
"On the surface, there is indeed no direct connection." Furina allowed herself a faint smile, her spiritual intent radiating a note of certainty. "However, Lord God of Destruction... I happen to know some secrets about the Sea God, Tang San. Secrets that perhaps even you are not entirely aware of."
"Secrets? About Tang San?" A distinct ripple of interest stirred within the God of Destruction's divine consciousness. The idea that a mortal from the lower realm claimed to know secrets about the Divine Realm's God of Law was, in itself, intriguing enough. "Speak, then."
He did not immediately believe her, but he was willing to listen. At his level, in the tedium of endless years, any hint of novelty or the unexpected was worth a measure of attention.
Furina saw no point in theatrics. She dropped the first piece of information directly: "I know that the Sea God, Tang San, has a daughter, named Tang Wutong, also called Tang Xiaoqi in the Divine Realm. What's more, she has already descended to the lower realm, to the Douluo Continent."
Upon hearing this, the God of Destruction's divine reaction was flat, even tinged with disappointment. "This is hardly an absolute secret in the Divine Realm. Allowing one's progeny to undergo trials in the lower realm is not uncommon for deities, especially for a God King. What kind of secret is this?"
He assumed Furina had merely stumbled upon some less circulated gossip from the Divine Realm and was using it to feign profundity.
"Do not be hasty, Lord God of Destruction." Furina's tone remained perfectly even. "That was merely the appetizer. The true show... has yet to come."
She paused briefly, letting the implication sink in. Then, with crystal-clear spiritual intent, she enunciated each word deliberately: "Are you aware... that the Sea God, Tang San... split his own daughter Tang Wutong's soul into two halves, and placed them each into two different bodies?"
"WHAT?!"
The God of Destruction's divine consciousness convulsed violently! Not within Furina's consciousness, but within the Divine Realm itself. Inside the majestic and solemn Temple of Destruction, the black-robed God King seated upon his throne snapped his eyes wide open, and in their depths, violet-black bolts of destructive lightning churned with manic frenzy!
CRACK—!
A table before him, crafted from precious divine wood and possessing immense durability, was instantly and utterly pulverized under the sudden eruption of his aura, shattered to dust by his formless destructive intent!
"What did you just... say?!" The God of Destruction's voice resounded in Furina's mind once more, but it had lost its previous calm, now brimming with shock, titanic fury, and an edge of utter disbelief. Though he strained to control it, the aura of destruction inherent to his vast divine consciousness was now several times stronger. Like a storm, it raged and clawed at the edges of Furina's spiritual world.
Furina let out a muffled groan, a sharp, stabbing pain lancing through her mind, as if pierced by countless needles.
Her spiritual power was already formidable by mortal standards, but before a single thread of aura unconsciously leaked by a God King, she was still profoundly fragile. Fortunately, the God of Destruction immediately recognized her discomfort.
"...Forgive me. I lost composure." The God of Destruction's voice forcibly found its calm again, yet the suppressed fury simmered beneath it like a volcano ready to erupt. "Continue... Speak. Tell me everything you know."
It was little wonder the God of Destruction had lost his composure so thoroughly. He and the Goddess of Life shared a bond of deep affection, yet his power of destruction was so overwhelmingly potent that it was exceedingly difficult for them to conceive a child. The lively, adorable little girl Tang Wutong had been, during her time in the Divine Realm, had won the deep affection of the couple, who had practically come to regard her as their own. To hear that the child they viewed as a daughter had her soul torn apart by her own biological father—this was a revelation sufficient to ignite instantaneous, blazing wrath in any being who possessed a heart.
Catching her breath, Furina continued: "I speak the truth. The Sea God, Tang San, cleaved Tang Wutong's complete soul into two halves and placed them into two separate vessels. If you doubt me, you may use your divine sense to examine my current location's vicinity, specifically the male dormitory area of Shrek Academy, and look for a student named 'Wang Dong.' She presents herself outwardly as a boy, but is in fact a girl in male disguise. Perhaps... you should call her 'Wang Dong'er.'"
"Her martial souls are the Goddess of Light Butterfly and... the Clear Sky Hammer. Furthermore, she still bears Tang San's divine sense imprint upon her person, which also serves as her third martial soul. I am not certain whether this should be considered Tang Wutong's reincarnated body, or whether... Tang San simply found a suitable 'vessel,' forcibly fused half of Tang Wutong's soul into it, and is attempting to gradually supplant the original vessel owner's consciousness."
Furina's description was exceedingly specific, even pinpointing details like "Clear Sky Hammer" and "Tang San's divine sense imprint." This caused the doubt in the God of Destruction's heart to plummet sharply, replaced by searing rage and a gleam of icy coldness.
Without a moment's hesitation, his boundless God King-level divine sense instantly pierced through the sturdy barrier separating the Divine Realm from the lower worlds. Like an invisible celestial eye, it locked onto the location Furina had described with absolute precision—Shrek Academy, a certain room within the male dormitory.
Inside that room, an androgynously beautiful, blue-haired "youth" (maiden) lay in deep slumber. Under the God of Destruction's divine scrutiny, all disguises and surface appearances were stripped away.
Disguised as a boy, confirmed.
Soul state... incomplete! Confirmed! The fundamental fluctuations of the soul were, indeed, of the same origin as Tang Wutong's, but only approximately half of it was present! Moreover, this half-soul was slowly and insidiously "mending" itself, though the direction of this mending was not a restoration of the complete Tang Wutong soul. Instead, it was fusing with lingering imprints originally belonging to the body, forming a new, bizarre soul-state that was both Tang Wutong and yet not her.
Martial Souls... Goddess of Light Butterfly, confirmed. Deep within the body, another heavy, overbearing power lay dormant... Clear Sky Hammer bloodline, confirmed!
At the very core of the soul, a cryptic yet powerful divine sense imprint lay coiled like an intricate lock around the core of the incomplete soul... That familiar, infuriatingly recognizable aura—the Sea God and Asura God, Tang San! Confirmed!
"MISERABLE WRETCH!!!"
Within his temple in the Divine Realm, the God of Destruction nearly rose from his throne in an uncontrollable surge. Violet-black destructive divine power boiled furiously around him, illuminating the entire Temple of Destruction until it resembled the very epicenter of a cataclysmic thunderstorm!
He saw it! Everything was exactly as Furina had described!
Tang San! That newly ascended God King who always wore a gentle smile, who handled matters with such "fairness," who was praised by many deities—this man, behind closed doors, had committed an act of such cruelty, such violation against the natural bonds of kinship, on his own flesh-and-blood daughter! To split a complete soul—it was akin to the most merciless form of torture! And to place half of it into another body, allowing it to undergo an irreversible, grotesque distortion!
Just what was he trying to achieve?! Did he retain even a speck of a father's conscience?! And what of Xiao Wu? Did Xiao Wu know of this? Knowing how deeply that girl cherished her daughter, she would never, ever have consented!
