Author's POV
Seeing the portrait, Leviathan was burning with anger.
The portrait contained the same pendant that was with Lyra. He slowly bent down to take the box that fell when he was busy looking at the portrait. Looking at that he slightly smiled and took it into his hands.
But in minutes — the pendant turned into ashes.
His smile turned into confusion, then into anger. He roared in his dragon voice, making the whole palace hall resound with fear. Everyone in the room bowed to their knees.
He looked at Martin angrily.
"Tell me."
"Tell me, Martin," he said.
"How does he have my mother's pendant?"
Martin bowed low to Leviathan, hesitating.
"Tell me, Martin. Now. I don't have any patience left."
"I would have been calm but he was playing a dangerous game with me by pulling this stunt," he said angrily.
Tengshe slightly moved in front of Martin protectively. His only job was to listen to Lucian and he was loyal to Lucian. While sending Martin to the dragon realm, the only thing Lucian said was to protect Martin and return safely. In no way possible would Tengshe ignore that.
Martin hesitated.
"Your highness," Martin said, now looking at Leviathan.
Leviathan just looked at Martin, eager to know the answer. This was the only secret he had hidden for almost 200 years. Now the secret was about to burst and his only promise to his mother would go away. His only reason for living would be gone.
He was scared. Confused. Even angry at himself for being a jerk for not keeping the promise.
"Your highness," said Martin again, pulling Leviathan out of his daze.
He looked at Martin.
"Lord Blackfrost has only one request. He wants you to talk about the incident of your parents and his parents back then. 200 years back. He wants you to reveal the secret behind that."
"If you don't reveal and hide the killer... then there will be consequences," Martin said.
Leviathan just looked blank.
"If this was his idea of the return gift... I will give him something back tenfold. And I already gave him a visiting present," said Leviathan, dismissing Martin.
Inferno Sol went to Martin and Tengshe to escort them back. Martin and Tengshe bowed to Leviathan and flew back to the demon realm.

Lyra's POV
After he left, I waited some time and tried to open the door.
It was locked.
No way. That jerk locked this room.
I looked around. It was his room. His chamber. The same one from before.
I sighed and sat on the bed, thinking how I should face him when he comes back.
Should I just sleep?
No no. What if that makes him angry?
I should do something to surprise him, I thought. But paused. What if it shocks him instead of surprises him?
I sat there for what felt like hours. Slowly the evening went away and it was midnight.
The door creaked open.
I smiled, finally seeing the door getting opened.
Then he entered.
My life demon. I cursed him in my mind but didn't dare say anything.
He came in, but seeing me, his blank face turned somewhat angry. I blinked and moved back.
He came to me and took my hand. Before I could react — suddenly a portal opened.
Tadaaaa!!!.
I was back in the same dungeon.Nice, what a luck!!
"I think I have given you too much freedom, princess. Don't you think?" he said sarcastically.
I nodded.
"Maybe slightly," I said, showing my index finger and measuring it with my thumb.
He glared at me and I shut my mouth.
"So from today, you will be staying here reflecting on your mistakes. If you still try to pull anything, I will pull your heart out and throw you to the demon dogs. And they are really eager to eat a human," he said rather angrily.
I thought for a long time about what to say to him. Then he moved close to me, pulled my chin up, and looked at me angrily.
"Just remember who you are dealing with. Once I lose my composure, you would not want to see me," "the real me"...he pressed the words clear and loud, being so close to me.
Wow. He is so handsome, my brain thought.
what the hell i thought again...what's the situation and what's my brain thinking.
I immediately pushed the thought away.
He gripped my chin tight and looked at me.
"I don't care if you are chosen mate or sent by the freaking gods.
You are mine.
And mine alone.
If you try to leave, this will be your home forever," he said, gesturing to the dungeons.
At this, something clicked in my head.
Chosen mate.
Without thinking much, I tiptoed and kissed his cheek. Then came back down.
He looked at me, shocked.
Gotcha!
"I'm sorry, Lucian," I said, feigning innocence.
He moved back. "How insolent... you dare do that to me?" he said, flustered.
Of course I would, I thought in my head, smiling. But I looked at him almost teary.
"I'm your chosen mate. Without thinking all that, I tried to leave you and this kingdom and realm. I'm very angry at myself for doing that," I said with a dramatic gesture around the dungeon and moved to the bars.
"What are you trying to play?" he said.
"I'm not playing anything, Lucian. In fact, I'm done playing everything. I genuinely want to know about you. Completely. Wholeheartedly," I said with fake crying, hoping he wouldn't notice my terrible acting.
"Oh really?" he replied, folding his hands.
I nodded.
"So how do you plan to know about me?" he said, moving closer to me, trapping me against the bars.
The air suddenly shifted.
I gulped, looking at him, then looked down.
"Of course by being with you and the people and in the demon realm. And I'm going to be the future queen. Don't you think I should be sensible?"
I said it hoping he would understand and let me leave this dungeon.
His lips moved upward, hinting at something.
"Yes, yes, you are now being sensible. And you should definitely know about the kingdom," he said, smiling, and moved back.
I nodded, smiling.
"Then start with getting to know them," he said, going out and locking the dungeon.
I looked at him, confused.
Just then some small snarls came from behind.
I looked back. Two small black panthers were snarling at me. They were not normal — their eyes were pure jet black and they were waiting like they were ready to tear me alive.
"AHHHHHHH!"
I screamed.
"LUCIAN YOU BASTARD! SAVE ME! YOU WOULD BE WIFELESS WIDOW IF I DIE!"
I screamed at the top of my lungs.
He looked at me.
"Didn't you say you would want to know the kingdom and realm? They are my personal animals trained by me. First, get to know them," he said.
"No no, please Lucian, save me," I said, looking at him utterly scared.
He raised an eyebrow, slightly angry.
"Okay okay, I'm sorry. And I'm really sorry for acting all this time. Please save me, please Lucian."
"Deal with them on your own," he said and left.
I looked at him in horror.
"LUCIAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU BASTARD!
COME BACK HERE!
NOW!"
I screamed and turned to them. I was practically on the bars, clinging to my life. They paced hard. My heart sank to the pit of my stomach.
Okay, this is my end.
I thought.
They lunged at me.
I closed my eyes tight.
And...
Nothing happened.
Then I heard a small meow.
I opened my eyes and looked at the scene before me. I quickly took a deep breath before falling to my knees.
The two small panthers had turned into small cute kittens. They were on me, licking and playing. My heartbeat came back to normal.
God... Lucian.
I will kill you one day. You rotten piggy tomato. I will cut you into pieces and throw you into the ocean.
Lucian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucian's POV
I turned back and started walking to my study.
How dare she play that little stunt on me? I thought, remembering her kiss on my cheek.
Without me knowing, my hand went up to my cheek. I smiled slightly.
Before it got to my head, I cleared my thoughts.
Let her stay in the dungeons for a week. Give her food and everything on time. If she is doing anything other than sitting idle for this week, inform me immediately.
But if there is even a small scratch on her...
I let my silence say the warning to the guards. They bowed.
From there, I went back to my study and sat on my seat.
Just then, Martin and Tengshe returned.
