Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: Agnes Tachyon and Full Bloom

Uma Musume, But My Cheat Skill Is League of Legends

If Rudolf Symboli had known what Goodbye Halo was thinking, she probably would have smacked her forehead and lamented her own miscalculation.

Ordinarily, horse girls were supposed to think about romance only after transferring into the Dream Cup circuit. They were supposed to be special beings defined by overwhelming ambition.

But then again, horse girls could not all be judged by the same standard. Some of them would turn into troublesome women the moment a friend stopped paying attention to them.

Unfortunately, by this point, the emergency private jet had already landed. Even if Rudolf Symboli wanted to fix the situation, there was no longer any way to do so.

As the cabin door opened, the hem of a white lab coat came into view, followed by a pair of long legs wrapped in black pantyhose.

The brown-haired, red-eyed horse girl covered her mouth and looked ready to retch, her face pale enough for the emergency room, yet she still muttered to herself, "So that's the kind of side effect the new formula has… noted, noted."

Then she broke into a grin so excited it was practically unhinged.

"But no matter! Lab Rat-kun, I'm here!"

She threw her head back and burst into laughter.

No wonder Sirius Symboli thought Rudolf Symboli had not thought this through. At first glance, this girl really did look like an impossible person to get along with.

As if to prove the point, whether from rejoicing too soon or because the medicine's side effects were simply too strong, the brown-haired horse girl promptly tripped over her own feet and tumbled down the boarding stairs.

"Tachyon-senpai, please don't—ahhh! Tachyon-senpai!"

The chestnut-haired girl traveling with her had just started to warn her to behave properly so she would not ruin Rudolf Symboli's plans, only for Tachyon to go rolling down the stairs in the next instant. Dizzy with panic, she rushed over, somehow managed to help her up, and kept her from face-planting entirely.

"Daiwa, third vial in my right pocket."

She could have done it herself, but since someone else was there, she clearly had no objection to being helped. In fact, she seemed to enjoy it.

After several loud gulps, the side effects of the drug finally began to fade.

She could not even be bothered to care whether the ground was dirty, instead staring up at the sky and murmuring, "To long for the Classic Triple Crown… how very youthful of you, Lab Rat-kun."

"Huh?" The younger girl looked baffled at first, then realized Tachyon was talking about Xingyun Liuge. She tried hauling her up off the ground. "Forget that for now, Tachyon-senpai, get up already. Washing a lab coat is a pain. And listen carefully: absolutely, absolutely, absolutely do not call Senpai Xingyun 'lab rat.' Don't call anyone else that either. It's incredibly rude."

The advice was plainly for her own good, but Agnes Tachyon was not taking it in. At least, not outwardly.

She gave a cold snort and complained, "You're so noisy. What are you, somebody's nagging mother?"

Judging from her tone, she was very clearly and very thoroughly expressing her contempt.

The result was immediate: a vein bulged on the younger girl's forehead, and she let loose a furious roar.

"Agnes Tachyon!"

That was right. The very person Rudolf Symboli had specifically requested was none other than Central Tracen's resident problem child and scientific madwoman—Agnes Tachyon.

Of course, Rudolf Symboli had not summoned Agnes Tachyon so she could use Xingyun Liuge as a test subject. She was worried that Xingyun would injure herself from overexertion, so she had called Tachyon in as a traveling physician.

At first, Tachyon had refused, claiming she had very important experiments to conduct. Rudolf had only managed to drag her out by threatening to cut her research funding and cancel her projects, then sweetening the deal with a promise: If you do a good enough job, I'll increase your budget.

But that resistance had been entirely deliberate. Agnes Tachyon had only put on a show because she was worried Rudolf Symboli would grow suspicious if she agreed too quickly. In truth, she had long since wanted to study Xingyun Liuge properly.

She wanted to know just how fast Xingyun Liuge could become.

Without question, in terms of pursuing the absolute limit of speed, Xingyun Liuge was Agnes Tachyon's ideal type.

What Tachyon had not expected was that she would end up bringing along a "piece of baggage."

No—that was not quite right. The "baggage" had insisted on coming herself, saying she was worried Tachyon could not even look after her own health and would end up ruining the student council president's plans. So she had volunteered.

Considering Agnes Tachyon's self-management was such an utter disaster that she could conceivably die off by herself somewhere, Air Groove had immediately approved Daiwa Scarlet's request.

But what Daiwa Scarlet never could have imagined was that her Tachyon-senpai specialized in incomprehensible nonsense. Even though she had perfectly well-tested motion sickness medicine on hand, she had still insisted on drinking some bizarre new concoction instead, leaving herself woozy and half-dead.

The fact that she would not even spare herself probably was what made her a true mad scientist.

Yet Tachyon showed no gratitude whatsoever for Daiwa Scarlet's concern. She touched her lower back, completely ignoring the fact that she would have to rely on Daiwa's care for a while, and shouted back even louder,

"You're the noisy one! Your personality is infuriating. Did you inherit it from your parents or what?"

No matter how one looked at them, the two seemed utterly incapable of getting along, much less living under the same roof.

Tachyon's words nearly made Daiwa Scarlet snap. The fact that they did not start fighting on the spot owed everything to Daiwa Scarlet's admirable self-restraint.

They took a cab to the hotel, but Agnes Tachyon fell asleep in the car almost immediately. Daiwa Scarlet called her several times, and when she got no response at all, she had no choice but to carry her inside on her back.

Muttering under her breath, Daiwa complained, "You really are such a pain."

Her brows drooped and her lips pressed together tightly, yet there was not the slightest sign that she intended to abandon Agnes Tachyon. She was treating her with the exact attitude one might use toward a stubborn, impossible old mother.

What Daiwa Scarlet did not know was that Agnes Tachyon was not actually asleep at all.

Seeing Daiwa so dutiful and patient, Tachyon quietly curled her lips into a smile.

That night passed without incident.

Before dawn had yet pierced the far horizon the next morning, Xingyun Liuge was already awake. She wanted to see what Baltimore looked like at four in the morning.

Even though she had spent the entire night running inside the Wheel of Reincarnation and sparring with all sorts of veteran horse girls, thanks to the combination of Undying Body and the Wheel itself, she did not feel even the slightest trace of fatigue. If anything, she just wanted to vent all the excess energy building inside her.

She even found herself thinking that it would be nice if Undying Body could instantly empty her stamina bar and store it up instead.

But the moment her feet touched the floor, she staggered, nearly tripping over nothing.

Catching herself on the edge of the bed, Xingyun looked down at her own hands in confusion.

"What just happened?"

As the undisputed two-crown champion, how was she supposed to trip on flat ground?

At that exact moment, a prompt appeared across her vision:

Peak Maturation Progress: 100%.
