The morning light filtered through the sheer curtains of Room 1001, casting a soft, golden glow over the suite as Jin-woo slowly regained consciousness.
He turned to his side, feeling a lightness in his head that had been absent the night before, the heavy fog of the fever having finally receded.
As his eyes adjusted to the brightness, they fell upon Eun-soo, who was still slumped in the velvet chair beside his bed.
She was fast asleep, her head resting awkwardly on her arm upon the side table, her long dark hair partially veiling her peaceful face.
Jin-woo watched her for a silent moment, a wave of gratitude and a strange, unfamiliar warmth stirring in his chest as he realized she had stayed the entire night.
He sat up slowly, careful not to make a sound, and moved to the edge of the bed until he was standing right beside her.
He reached out, his hand hesitating for a split second before he gently placed it on her shoulder, giving it a light, careful shake.
"Miss Eun-soo," he whispered, his voice still a little raspy from the illness. "Miss Eun-soo, please wake up."
Eun-soo stirred, her eyelids fluttering open as she sat up straight in the chair, momentarily disoriented by the sudden shift from deep sleep to reality.
She blinked several times, her gaze finally focusing on Jin-woo, who was standing before her looking significantly healthier than he had at midnight.
"Miss Eun-soo, thank you for taking care of me last night," he said, offering her a small, sincere smile. "I am feeling much better now."
Eun-soo rubbed her eyes and offered a tired but relieved nod, the stiffness in her neck a small price to pay for his recovery.
"It's alright," she replied softly, her voice thick with sleep. "I'm just glad the fever broke before the morning."
She stood up, smoothing out her cream-colored pajama set - the oversized white shirt and matching pants patterned with whimsical black bear outlines, making her look vulnerable in the morning light.
"Since you are feeling well, I will not disturb you any further," she said, gathering her things with a sudden return to her polite, reserved demeanor.
"I should go back to my own room and take some rest before the day truly begins," she added, moving toward the door.
Jin-woo followed her to the entrance of the bedroom, his eyes lingering on her retreating figure.
"I will treat you to a proper meal sometime as a thank you for this," he called out, wanting to repay her kindness.
Eun-soo paused at the door and shook her head slightly, a small smile playing on her lips.
"It is quite alright, Mr. Seo. You are our guest, and it was the least I could do," she said before stepping out into the hallway.
Once alone, Jin-woo breathed a sigh of relief and headed into the bathroom to wash away the lingering traces of the fever.
He took a long shower in lukewarm water, feeling his strength return as the steam cleared his senses and refreshed his mind.
Dressing in fresh clothes, he sat down on the sofa in the living area, opening his laptop to catch up on the flurry of emails and news that had accumulated during his collapse.
He was halfway through a technical report when a steady knock sounded on the suite's heavy oak door.
He opened it to find his parents, Jin-ho and Young-sook, standing there with a bright-eyed Hajun tugging at his grandmother's hand.
"How are you feeling, Jin-woo?" Young-sook asked immediately as she stepped inside, her eyes scanning his face for any sign of lingering pallor.
"I'm feeling much better now, Mom," he reassured her, giving her a quick hug to prove he was back on his feet.
Young-sook nodded, her expression shifting into one of quiet approval as she looked around the tidy suite.
"I know Eun-soo was here taking care of you throughout the night," she said, her voice lowering slightly.
"You should find a way to treat her to a very good meal and give her a nice present to show your appreciation for her help."
Jin-woo nodded seriously, already considering what kind of gift would suit someone as refined and understated as Eun-soo.
"I'll make sure to give her something she will truly like," he promised his mother.
Jin-ho, who had been observing the balcony view, turned back to his son with a practical question.
"So, what are our next plans? We have enjoyed the festival and toured the best spots Jeju has to offer."
"I think it's time we head back," Jin-woo replied. "My work here is complete, and the A2 team is ready to move to the next phase in Seoul."
Hajun, who had been quietly playing with a toy on the rug, suddenly looked up with a pout.
"But I want to enjoy more here! The pool was so big and the sea was so blue!" the boy protested.
Jin-woo knelt down to his nephew's level, ruffling his hair affectionately to soften the upcoming news.
"We will come back again sometime, Hajun, I promise. But you also have to go back to kindergarten soon."
Hajun's shoulders slumped in disappointment, but he offered a small, resigned nod.
"If you behave properly and finish your lessons well, I will take you to the Seoul Children's Grand Park next weekend," Jin-woo added.
The boy's eyes lit up instantly. "You promised! You said it yourself, so you can't go back on your words!"
Jin-woo laughed, the sound bright and clear. "When have I ever gone back on a promise to you?"
As the Seo family began the process of packing their belongings, Jin-woo called his assistant, Han Ji-won, to arrange the return tickets.
Across the hotel, the Kang family was also preparing for their departure, the atmosphere in their suite equally busy.
Ara had returned to her room earlier, taken a refreshing shower, and dressed for the journey back to the city.
She looked every bit the sophisticated actress in a deep navy blue, double-breasted blazer dress that hit mid thigh.
The structured shoulders and gold-toned buttons gave her a sharp, professional edge, while the short length showcased her long legs.
She paired the dress with neutral, pointed-toe heels and carried a small, structured brown leather handbag.
Once ready, she walked over to Min-ho's room and knocked, her mind still partially lingering on the events of the previous night.
Min-ho opened the door and ushered her in, noticing the thoughtful expression on his sister's face.
"Tae-jun was here looking for you late last night," Ara said as she settled onto the plush sofa.
"He wanted to ask you about Eun-soo. How you actually feel about her and the potential for a match between you two."
Min-ho leaned against the desk, a look of mild surprise crossing his features. "Why didn't he just come in and ask me?"
"You were already asleep," Ara explained, glossing over her own late-night conversation with the older Cha brother.
"I was taking a walk outside when he arrived, so we ended up talking about it instead."
Min-ho nodded slowly, considering his answer carefully as he looked out the window at the distant horizon.
"I honestly don't know exactly what I feel yet," he admitted. "But spending time with her isn't boring, and she's quite intelligent."
"If our families decide on a marriage, I think I would be okay with it. She's someone I could respect."
Ara nodded, her protective sisterly instincts flaring. "If that's the case, you should be nicer to her and try to meet her more often."
"Both of you need to become more familiar with each other if you're actually going to share a life," she added.
Min-ho nodded, but then a mischievous smirk spread across his face as he turned the tables on his sister.
"Forget about my love life for a second, big sis. Tell me, what do you think of Tae-jun?" he asked playfully.
"I've met him many times; he gives off a very good, albeit strict, elder brother vibe. Why don't you consider him?"
Ara, who had been so poised while lecturing her brother, suddenly felt her cheeks flush a bright, unmistakable pink.
"You are getting more and more out of hand as you grow older!" she exclaimed, lightly hitting his shoulder to hide her embarrassment.
Min-ho laughed, dodging her playful blow with a grin. "I'm serious! I think he would be a great match for someone as stubborn as you."
Ara looked away, her thoughts briefly flashing back to the warmth of a shoulder and the scent of expensive cologne in the night air.
"We will see," she murmured, her voice uncharacteristically soft as she smoothed the fabric of her navy dress.
They spent the rest of the hour discussing the incredible fire show Jin-woo had orchestrated the night before.
"He's truly a genius," Min-ho remarked. "We should consider calling his team for the grand opening of our new resort projects."
Ara agreed, her mind already racing with the possibilities of how their professional paths might cross again in the bustling city of Seoul.
