Eun Soo: "Aaaah! My body is stiff. I think I slept in the wrong posture. It has been a while—I should go for some exercise at the gym today. But first, let's clean up the place a little bit. It has been a while since I cleaned the home."
After deciding what to do, Eun Soo got up from the sofa to freshen up first. After that she started the TV to play a K-pop song by her favourite boy group and began to hand-clean the things throughout the whole place. She also started the automatic floor-cleaning robot, which began to clean the floor.
While cleaning she sang along with the group.
"The low hum fills the room, Chasing shadows from the gloom. Clearing all the tiny bits, To find the space where my mind fits. It's a blurry kind of peace, Giving all the thoughts release. Yeah, a blurry kind of peace, (Ooh ooh) Gives my busy mind some peace!"
With the song she quickly cleaned all the items. After the cleaning ended she did a quick face wash with the face cleanser her mom had bought for her from a very expensive brand and then
pulled on a ribbed, seamless sports bra and matching high-waisted leggings.
Eun Soo looked at herself in the mirror and looked at the outfit that hugged her tall, athletic frame perfectly.
Eun Soo whispered to herself, "How dare you? How can you be so beautiful?"
Then, standing before the mirror, she gathered her long hair into a high ponytail and grabbed her earphones.
After locking the door of her penthouse, Eun Soo entered the common lift to head down toward the "Blue Box Gym" located on the 20th floor.
The elevator descended smoothly.
Eun Soo did a little stretch in the lift with her earphones blasting a motivational song in her ears.
Eun Soo sang along: "I can do it. I can do it. Yes Yes Yes…." This song was created by Kang Ara, a famous actress and singer whose family is also on good terms with Eun Soo's family.
As Eun Soo was singing her song she forgot she was in the lift and, while dancing a little, she turned toward the mirror on the wall of the lift. But as she was looking at herself in the mirror the lift slowly came to a sudden stop on the 35th floor.
The doors slid open, and Eun Soo, who was dancing while looking in the mirror and singing, froze as a familiar man and a small boy stepped inside.
It was Jin Woo and Hajun, both dressed in casual athletic gear.
Jin Woo didn't notice her at first; he was looking down at Hajun with a mock-serious expression.
"Hajun, we are late again because of you," Jin Woo said with a sigh. "I always tell you to sleep early, even on weekends, so you can enjoy the morning… why don't you listen?"
Hajun held his head down, listening to his uncle's lecture, until he spotted a familiar figure in the lift.
His eyes traveled up, and his face instantly brightened when he realized it was his favourite teacher.
"Teacher Eun Soo!" he cried out happily, running toward her and wrapping his arms around her legs.
Eun Soo was feeling surprised as well as awkward at first, but seeing that both of them may not have seen her dancing and singing she composed herself. Then a sweet smile appeared on her face.
She immediately knelt down and pulled Hajun into a warm hug.
She looked up at Jin Woo and gave a small, defensive smile for the boy.
"Mr. Jin Woo, children love to stay up late on weekends," she said gently. "It's okay for him to have a little fun."
Jin Woo looked at her, momentarily stunned by how different she looked in her fitted gym clothes compared to her soft teacher outfits.
Jin Woo thought, "In this outfit Teacher Eun Soo looks even more cheerful and energetic." But he did not show it on his face.
"I suppose," he admitted, clearing his throat. "But if he ruins his sleep schedule now, Monday morning will be a disaster."
Eun Soo, seeing that Jin Woo had taken a step back, looked toward Hajun and patted his shoulder while whispering, "You should listen to your dad, okay? No more late nights. Otherwise it is really hard to get up early on weekdays."
Seeing Teacher Eun Soo asking him to get up early, Hajun nodded vigorously, making a pinky promise right there in the elevator.
As they were talking the lift began to descend again. Eun Soo looked at Jin Woo, who was dressed in a simple black t-shirt and track pants.
"Mr. Jin-woo… do you live in this building?" she asked, her curiosity finally getting the better of her.
"I do," he replied, looking equally surprised. "I did not know Teacher Eun Soo also lives in this building."
"Well, I live on the 80th floor," she whispered, realizing they had been neighbours all this time.
After this short exchange a quiet silence fell over the small space as they realized how small the world really was.
Seeing the atmosphere becoming awkward, Jin Woo tried to break the tension. He looked Eun Soo directly in the eyes and spoke without thinking much.
"You look very pretty in that outfit, Miss Eun Soo," with a sincere and steady voice.
Eun Soo, listening to a sudden compliment from Jin Woo, began to feel shy. She subconsciously folded her hands in front of herself.
Eun Soo felt her face flush a deep shade of pink, the sudden compliment making her heart rate quicken.
Eun Soo thought to herself, "Why does Mr. Jin Woo, even after marriage and children, feel so oblivious to how to talk to a girl?"
Jin Woo, seeing Eun Soo's reaction, also realised that he may have said something he should not have.
So the rest of the ride became incredibly awkward, with both of them staring at the floor numbers as they waited for the doors to open.
