He wanted to see whether he could reach Level 2 before his aunt and the others returned from their expedition.
Though… if that actually happened, wouldn't it be a little too fast? It would completely surpass even Miss Ais's old record.
Thinking of how Ais still held the world record for the fastest ascent to Level 2, Isis could not help showing a slightly strange expression.
Leveling up to Level 2 in a single month?
That was far beyond normal people's understanding.
To be honest, even Isis felt it sounded outrageous.
Still, he did not dwell on it for long. Shaking off the clutter in his mind, he focused fully on exploring the Dungeon.
Although he had only entered it twice so far, he already remembered the routes by heart. Getting lost or taking the wrong passage simply was not an issue for him anymore.
The earlier floors took almost no effort to pass through. Even the once troublesome eighth and ninth floors had become easy for him to handle after his latest status update.
That was why Loki had sighed that Isis was a genius who might even surpass Ais. Back when Ais had first grown stronger, her rate of development had not been anywhere near this terrifying.
Of course, part of that was because of Isis's own skills and magic.
The existence of Dark Eyes and Attribute Conversion gave him an innate advantage over other adventurers from the very start.
If that were all he had, then at least his upper limit would still be visible.
But the real problem was that as he kept growing, Isis could continue developing new magic and awakening further spells.
Which meant his ceiling could not be estimated at all. It was even possible that he might one day become the strongest mage of all.
After this latest status update, only Loki truly understood that, in her heart, she had already begun comparing Isis to the Silent Witch Alfia, the prodigy upon whom the gods had once pinned their hopes for slaying the Black Dragon.
That alone showed just how absurdly high Loki's expectations for Isis had become.
But she would never voice those expectations aloud.
It would place too much pressure on him, and she did not want to see a perfectly good child crushed by that burden, turning inward or having his personality warped by it.
After all, there was already one example of that.
Ais.
The way Ais was now had everything to do with the thoughts she carried in her heart.
Fortunately, dear little Ais-tan had a group of very good friends around her, so Loki did not need to worry about her personality breaking apart or twisting into something worse.

After passing through the ninth-floor corridor, Isis stepped onto the tenth floor for the first time.
This floor was rather special.
And the reason it was "special" was because it was covered in a layer of… mist.
It was like the fog that drifted through a primeval forest rarely touched by human feet, spreading across the entire floor.
The fog was not dense enough to turn everything into pure whiteness, but it still obscured the view to some extent.
Walking into it, what greeted Isis was a vast series of cavern-grasslands stretching onward. Visibility in the mist was roughly ten meters.
And scattered across that grassland stood many leafless dead trees.
"This is… the 'Labyrinth Armory' the handbook and Alicia-senpai mentioned, isn't it?"
From the way he spoke, it was obvious that he already understood this floor.
These were not dead trees at all, but a natural arsenal. Their toughness was comparable to the low-grade weapons forged for rookie adventurers.
This was a natural supply of weapons the Dungeon itself had provided for the monsters roaming within the labyrinth.
Starting from the tenth floor, the Dungeon's malice finally revealed itself completely to adventurers.
And, true to form, the Dungeon gave Isis no time to think.
A low growl rose up, and a huge shadow emerged from the white fog. Crimson eyes glimmered within the haze.
A large-class monster—an Orc—had appeared.
Dark brown skin, a pig's head, ragged hide hanging from its waist like peeling flesh, and a body nearly three meters tall. It was every inch the large monster it appeared to be.
With a roar, the Orc fixed its gaze on Isis as though it had already chosen its prey, then stomped forward with a heavy boom and reached toward one of the dead trees nearby.
The ease vanished from Isis's face at once, replaced by cold focus. Frosty light flashed in his eyes. With a thought, magic gathered in his hand.
"Icicle Drop!"
Before the Orc could seize the dead tree, Isis instantly launched a concentrated barrage of icy spikes at its arm.
Caught completely off guard, the Orc had its arm pierced through by the ice lances, and a howl of pain rang out.
But before it could react, lightning already burst from Isis's raised left hand, a Lightning Chain lashing over its body.
"Burst!"
A sphere of lightning crackled wildly inside the Orc's body. Under the combined tearing force of frost and thunder, the creature could no longer bear it.
In the next instant, the Orc's body collapsed into a heap of black ash scattered across the ground, leaving behind a glowing magic stone.
Honestly, it was the most "complete" magic stone Isis had seen since he started exploring the Dungeon.
It seemed that from the tenth floor onward, the monsters had grown significantly stronger, and accordingly their magic stones dropped as solid pieces rather than mere fragments.
Light flickered in Isis's eyes.
He felt like he was finally beginning to taste the joy of making real money.
This was far more profitable than the upper floors.
Of course, it also meant that with every battle, more and more monsters on the floor would start noticing his presence.

And he had no intention of foolishly venturing down to the twelfth floor. These next few days, training on the tenth and eleventh floors would be enough.
After all, the twelfth floor marked the start of the Middle Levels. The monsters there were clearly beyond what the current Isis could handle.
Even if he already had enough firepower to kill monsters from the upper half of the Middle Levels, that did not mean he could move through those floors without danger.
A man needed self-awareness.
Those who lacked it had long since become fertilizer for the Dungeon.
Isis understood that point perfectly.
"Well then, time to start today's money-making session."

Once he entered combat mode, all of Isis's capabilities rose sharply.

Since he already had the potential to surpass Miss Ais and become the fastest ever to reach Level 2, a fierce surge rose in Isis's chest.
After all, he had come to Orario to carve his name into history.
Now that he was one step closer to making the name Prodigy Isis echo across the world, how could he possibly not give it everything he had?
